Hotel Birsighof Basel City Center

The room was nice and clean, there was a small table and chair too. The bed was comfortable although it would have been good to have more than one pillow. The bathroom was small but good enough for one night, the shower worked well. I did not have the chance to try the breakfast. Nice and helpful staff. The complimentary water bottle was useful.

Only one pillow for the bed. I did not know that the breakfast was extra cost and not included in the price.

An amazing boutique hotel. It is 3 starts although it felt like 5 stars from so many aspects. It is located in a very central area with 5-10 mins walk to the centre and the train station, but it was in a quite street which made it easy to have a good night rest without any noise. The room was super clean and the staff (especially Arbenita) and the owners were lovely and helpful. Even the communal toilet in the entrance was spotless! We also bought breakfast and it exceed my expectations! There were a lot of options like different types of cheeses, olives, salad and it was amazing that we felt like we ate a lot every morning 😀. We are mediterraneans so the breakfast was spot on for us! If you are looking for few nights in a warm, cosy and a spotless place in Basel, this is the place for it! I can't wait to be back! 😊

The only think I didn't like is the fact that we had to leave!

This is a no-frills but pleasant, family-run hotel in a perfect location - in a relatively calm, quiet neighbourhood close enough to the centre of Basel to make acess easy but sufficiently away from the throng of city centres. Well located for transport links (station only a few minutes walk, tram lines close etc). Good restaurants, including an excellent Michelin starred restaurant, close by (walking 5 minutes). A lovely, helpful staff, all of whom reflected the cheerfullness of Basel itself; the hotel very well kept (cleanliness their priority). This was everything I wanted for week's stay. I hope to return to Basel and if I do I will be sure to book here again.

'No frills' includes quite small bathroom (actually shower room, which was fine); the bedroom likewise was not large enought for an easy chair. These did not bother me at all - I was able to work for some hours in my room, without discomfort, and otherwise I wasn't looking for luxury, so all this suited me well.

The location was great for visiting zoo—less than 5 minute walk. also about a easy 10 minute walk from main train station and central old town. clean, great breakfast with good variety and extremely friendly staff. reception closes at 8 pm but you can check in later via a key code for the door—they will leave the room key at the reception desk.

Price was comparable for similar properties but still high—and we were not able to reserve breakfast in advance while booking. breakfast is great but not cheap at over 20 francs per person. Breakfast for two days added 100 francs to our bill—so just be forewarned when booking.

The bathroom was a tight squeeze with lots of wasteful individual plastic bottles of toiletries No kettle in the room Tiny lift ! The price, not as expensive as Zürich but nonetheless Basel isn't a bargain

It was nice staying for a week at a friendly, independent hotel which had all the facilities you might expect from a chain hotel. Hotel Birsighof is really conveniently located for the city centre and the railway station in a nice neighbourhood (although they all seemed nice in Basel). The staff were very attentive to all our needs and we enjoyed having the buffet breakfasts. There is a nice courtyard garden at the back for relaxing.

The room was a little small but that's normal in city centre hotels.

The hotel is great! Friendly and warm personnel, super clean room and bathroom. Hotel is located near the city center. Highly recommend this place for everyone!

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. It was hard to sleep on Saturday night because we had room with a street view and could hear everything from outside: partying people, cars, talks. Other two nights the street was quiet, so we had a good rest.

This is the first time that the hotel smells fresh. The bed is very comfortable and the size fits well for our family. Breakfast is available and the staff will greet you with a very warm morning smile. The location is few minutes away from the zoo. 🥰

There is no kettle in the room. We are on the first floor and near the walk way so we can hear people passing.

Well appointed simple hotel. Conveniently situated between the station and the old town on a quiet street. Room and bathroom were smallish but we had what we needed. They let us have a fan in very hot weather.

good location from restaurants, bars and about 15 minutes’ walk from Basel main train station. very clean room, number 35, suitable for solo traveller. I hear the breakfast here is good but I didn’t have it as I had to leave early.

The bathroom was tiny, you can’t really shut the door when you are in it, but the shower had plenty of pressure.
