Ibis Budget Lyon Centre - Gare Part Dieu

Location is perfect for traveling by train and plane! We arrived in Lyon by train from Geneva to the Central Station to which the hotel is very close. Two days later, to go to the airport, we used the shuttle metro. Its station is about 100 meters from the hotel. That tipe of arrangment is extremely pleasant and convenient for arrival and departure by different transportation means. The hotel is very clean, very new and pleasant to stay for 2-3 nights. Staff is very polite and helpful.

The additional bed above the main bed could be problem. I and my partnes hit our heads while approaching the bed. I would suggest to the hotel to offer that tipe of beds not for couples, but - for families with a kid only. I would like to advise future customers when booking a room in the hotel to avoid one with 3 beds, if you are only 2 people.

Overall, the location of this hotel was optimal - close to the express train from the airport, to the metro, buses and trams, as well as bike rentals! Going to the city centre was very easy. Also, not far from the hotel, there are some very interesting and less touristy places for drinks and dinner. Breakfast was OK

Although it was not mentioned in the small print, I was expecting a hair drier in the room. Also, no hand towel was given and the pillows were quite uncomfortable. The toilet is separate from the basin and the shower, and annoyingly it has a sensor light that is quite annoying at night

The room had everything I needed, the bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, the shower always had hot water and good water pressure. The room was constantly kept clean by the staff. Even though my room was right across a train station I never heard a thing, the room has great noise insulation. Staff is really nice and helpful.

The breakfast has fewer options than one would hope… the food was fresh and tasted fine but too many sweet foods and ultra processed foods. It is a plus that they start serving it really early, at 6.

Excellent location between the Rhone express stop (from the airport) and the train station, and only a minute or two walk from the tram stops. Air conditioning in the rooms/hotel was good, and the room itself was clean and comfortable.

Tea making facilities in the room (or perhaps on more than one floor of the hotel) would have been appreciated, and I wasn't aware that the room we booked had no separate bathroom. We were surprised to find the shower and basin in the room with no divider/privacy. I'm not sure if other room types were available where this was separate, but it wasn't a huge issue for us anyway - just unexpected. Additionally - I'd have liked more/larger pillows on the bed.

The location is superb - literally less than 100 steps to the main train station. And I walked all over the city. I was a bit concerned about the “budget” in the name, but while small, the room was basically perfect for my needs. I would imagine it could be a bit too small for two people with luggage, but I really liked it as a solo traveler. Almost forgot to mention one of the front desk guys who recommended a great restaurant I never would have found on my own: Le Splendid, a five minute walk away.

I wish hotels would bring back the use of top sheets! The duvet is just too heavy and hot! I just want a sheet. It would be helpful if city-wide event information was available in the lobby. I missed a free concert in the park that I would have loved to attend if I had known about it!

The location close to train and airport shuttle stations! (within a 2-minute walk to Rhone express and SCNF stations). It is also well-connected with buses and metros for reaching the city and other tourist destinations. There was no problem for arriving anytime because they have luggage storage, and I was allowed to check-in at noon. The staff members were nice and provided the information I needed. There was a welcome drink upon arrival and had extra umbrellas for guests to use for sudden showers. The free Wifi worked well for my purposes. The room is bright and clean, with minimal but essential facilities for use during transits or short stays. It was also clean and well-maintained as described by other reviewers. I had a comfortable sleep on a nice bed. There is a big mall (Westfield) nearby and small food and souvenir shops in the train station, although they close early. I appreciate it that air conditioning was available especially during hot summer weather, unlike in other hotels.

It could have been better if there was a refrigerator in the room to keep drinks cool during hot summer weather. There was no electric water heater for hot drinks or microwave for quick snacks or food fixes.

Excellent value for money and next door to Part-Dieu railway station for onward connections. There's even a screen at reception showing train departures. The airport train stops virtually outside. Good buffet breakfast in bright atrium and other eating options in the adjacent station. Quiet air-conditioned room. I slept very soundly. Friendly staff.

I can't fault it. I wanted to be near the railway station and it delivered. It is a fairly long walk to the rivers and old town but it is direct and I managed it there and back. I could easily have got a taxi.

With Ibis hotels, you know what to expect. This Ibis Budget did not disappoint. Clean and comfortable, with friendly staff. The room layout is a little bizarre, with the shower & sink incorporated in the bedroom area. Not a problem for us, or most couples, but not all people sharing a room may feel comfortable about the lack of privacy. Great for a short stay when travelling on public transport. Very close to the station, as well as bus & tram stops, and shops.

Typical hotel of the Ibis chain. Clean, affordable, reasonably comfortable. We chose it for its nearness to Part-Dieu station. As we enjoy walking, we were able to explore the city on foot without ever taking public transport. We liked the several breakfast options but missed the "oeuf à la coque" that we found in other hotels of the Ibis chain. For those interested in Lyon's fabulous gastronomical offerings, a good choice would be the Hotel Ibis Les Halles, next to the Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse. Near the Part-Dieu station there is also a large shopping mall, Westfield, where one can find several restaurants and bars.

The bathroom was extremely small and no bidet was provided, as it is often the case in France.

Ideal location one minute away from Gare Part Dieu, Everything is very clean ( bedroom, bathroom, cafeteria ), The room is well devided and organized, enough space, The bed was comfortable , Welcoming and Kind staff

Pillows are too high which made them very uncomfortable to sleep. Very Limited breakfast options for 8.5 euros , so i thought it could be a little bit expansive for what we got as options however it's still not bad
