How awesome is it to stay in a castle! We chose this hotel for 3-nights for Dia de los Muertos as we’re traveling with an 8-year old and it was fun to explore the hallways, the grounds, the guard towers and it even had a swimming pool and playground. I always look for places to stay that has ample “green space” for kids to get out of the hotel room and roam about. It was such a unique experience, no regrets. The rooms were clean, good WiFi, and it had a hotel restaurant which made it convenient to eat anytime (they serve a breakfast buffet for an additional cost). Just walk across the front entrance to the restaurant which makes it easy in the morning so you don’t have to seek out places to eat. The hotel was very busy with visitors and get ready for lots of picture taking.

It isn’t a negative thing against the hotel, just something to consider when staying there. It is located on top of a hill and is a 10-minute taxi to the main center which is an added 70-80 pesos per trip. You can walk it in 20-30 minutes. Taxis come often enough along the Main Street or the hotel can call one for you.

In general the Hotel was great, I had an extraordinary night with my GF (Now my fiancé), the views are really good, its a really good place to take pictures and do events. the reservation was really easy to made via apps and the price was really low.

Things that may need to improve it can be: Parking (It really needs more parking lot), I know the rooms are with the castle topic, but needs to improve with doors, floors, and even the bathroom, but in general I will give a 4.5 of 5.

The castle is very pretty, we took lots of lovely photos since it's like a museum. The receptionists were very kind and switched two of our rooms for one suite to make the stay for my grandparents easier since the original rooms were on a third floor with lots of stairs. In the night the castle has lights so more great photos. For what you get the price is excellent. And rooms are huge!

Rooms need love. Furniture is old and is not in good shape at least bathrooms are not that bad. But beds are not very comfortable, and on one of the rooms the bed cover had a hole in it. The day we arrived we tried to eat at the hotel restaurant but they were having so many guests that they ran out of food, so we had to pick from only two options (chicken or quesadillas), this is probably because of the pandemic. I really hope they improve the comfort of the rooms (and obviously increase the price).

It was a pleasure staying at this old castle..the highlight was the tour given by Leo, showing everything and telling the story of this castle. I will stay again with family on our next trip to the beautiful city of Guanajuato

We had a chair that was half broken, the drapes needed a little maintenance.

Location is really good, and the castle is amazing

Maintenance in general is not so good, I get that maybe the reason is because is a big castle/hotel, but really nothing to really complain about

The room was extra large. With a very nice view of the main entrance. The bed was very confortable. The hotel is very nice. It is an old building and you can see that in some places it needs some small repairs but in general it is a beautiful building. With beautiful gardens and lots of places to take pictures. There is a small plaza just next to it with a large pharmacy and a large supermarket in case you want to buy water, food or other stuff. There a few restaurants close enough to go walking and a gas station too. It is also very accesible to reach by car and 5 minutes ride to the downtown area by car. The Uber charged us from 25 to 40 pesos (2-3 dlls) to take us to the downtown. The staff was very friendly. They allowed us to park our car there early in the morning while we toke some breakfast and even when the check-in time was at 3:00pm they let us check in early (at around mid day). It's a very affordable place for such a beautiful building that it is.

The water was cold at the shower. The restaurant was closed (but I guess that was due to COVID restrictions, not the hotel's fault). There were only two outlets in the room, one near the desk at the entrance, and one near the bathroom sink. Not any near the bed. So you couldn't charge your phone and use it while being in the bed.

Its amazing to be able to stay in an actual replica of a castle, is very close to downtown and shopping areas. Very clean and my room was bigger than expected.

WiFi is null..only 2 electric powet outlets, TV was the verybold type, bathroom could use improvements. Increase the items in your restaurants menu. No room service, no menu available requested it from staff but they never showed up.

The door in the shower did not slide propperly and I could not close it. Water was spread in all the place.

It's such a beautiful castle and walking the grounds was a nice start to the day. The hotel staff were very nice and outgoing. They helped in every way possible.

Unfortunately you're in a castle so there's a few downfalls. The plumbing is old and the wifi in the room doesn't work.

it will be a good idea for the staff to clean the hallways and pick up any dirty dishes around the hallways…it takes away the beauty of the place
