Hotel de la Paz

Excellent boutique hotel right in the heart of busy Guanajuato. Smallish rooms but all facilities worked perfectly, comfortable bed, fresh towels, clean sheets, good showers etc. The entrance to the hotel looks a little drab but inside, corridors and rooms are bright, clean and well-decorated. Our room offered excellent views of University buildings.

First-time visitors to the city need to know that traffic and parking are a nightmare. Hotel staff were extremely helpful in leading us to a car park 10 minutes walk away but the walk itself, along the city's dark, polluted tunnels is unpleasant. This is absolutely NOT the fault of the hotel, but drivers will need patience if booking this hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the city. We walked everywhere and enjoyed our room throughout the day. The weather was extremely nice but we had one day that it was a little hot and was glad that the room had A/C. Our room had a balcony looking at the city and church. Perfect spot to just sit and watch people walk by. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, answering all our questions and giving us some of their recommendations.

The church bells would go off throughout the day which is normal but would also go off at night. Closing the balcony door double doors did help.

This hotel was very nice. The room and bathroom were clean and very spacious. There was a water refill station that I absolutely appreciate them providing. The hotel helped up set up transportation. The location was PERFECT. very central to everything you would want to walk to. There is a lot of noise at night, however, there is not going to be any centrally located hotel that does not have this problem as the city comes alive at night. I would stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting.

The property was fantastic. There was nothing we did not enjoy. The location is amazing and so close to restaurants, markets, museums, and transportation. The tour bus was right across the street. It was extremely hot that week and we were so appreciative that it was easy to get to and cool off. The staff was very helpful and great check in and check out. The bed was comfortable and towels and bed linen was top quality. Great water pressure and tons of hot water. Great value was the water coolers in the hall and the rooms came with a glass water pitcher and glasses so you could get as much water as wanted and did not have the clumsy and limited plastic water bottles that are usually provided by hotels. Breakfast was great. It was a buffet that was located just across the street in one of there other hotels. We had great service and food. The coffee was great also! We live in a near by city and plan on returning a few times a year and will stay in the Hotel de la Paz.

A great location near one of the main squares, but not noisy. A really nice view from my window and from the roof terrace. A great recommendation from the desk staff for a walking tour with Marianna which was excellent.

One of the desk staff was very unhelpful. I had a very early start and was concerned that an event was being set up underneath my window the evening before. I asked what was happening, and how long it would go on for. She was unconcerned about my request, said she didn’t know and made no effort to find out.

This hotel is near the main town of Guanajuato, GTO. Very safe, quiet and clean! The room had an excellent view to the University stairs where everyone wants to take pictures and at night the walking student tour ends with beautiful songs. The windows are French door with a small balcony, I enjoyed this stay very much! Breakfast was delicious!

To make sure door keys are program to the length of stay of the customer. We had to keep going to front desk daily or after we were back at night to get access to go into our room. We were very tired from walking all day and then go up the stairs and then come back down get key program and then go back up.

Excellent location and easy access around town We asked for a room with a view and we got a great view of “El Pipila” and La Basilica The hotel facilities are on point. Monse did a great job re-arranging our personal items. Front desk attentive at all times and were able to stored our luggage after checking out.

Great locations hotels like this one tend to be very popular with great night life all around. Church bells ringing early morning.

The location couldn't be any better. Balconies face the university. It is right on the Plaza de la Paz and walking distance from all must sees.

Breakfast was awful. 😖 It is at a different hotel walking distance from this hotel offering very few choices that were not great tasting. They charged 90 pesos for frying 2 eggs! If we were to stay there again, we wouldn't pay for the breakfast included option. The towels were old and falling apart See pic.

Very clean, and comfortable. Great staff. Very centrally located, but not next to noisy restaurants or bars. About 1 block to walk to square full of people and restaurants. The breakfast staff were great.

This isn't something not to like, just be aware the main entry is on the side. It's off of a walkway, and the entry is not visible from the street. Not an issue once you find it.

The location was perfect. Right next to the big church n main areas. Many restaurants n lots of fun to do. The place n room were very clean. Staff was very helpful and nice. I will stay here again.

Nothing. It was great. The bells from church went off kinda early but I didn't mind was not do early n getting up anyway. Rooms were small but not bad for a short stay. Was a bit hard to find but great once found.
