Location was excellent. They feed you free food and drinks from around noon till 7 pm. We got a free upgrade to a two story suite in their annex! We didn't even ask for it. Staff is courteous and tourist friendly. There is a small self service laundry about about 7 minutes away. Good restaurants are about 2 minutes away. Probably want a bus or taxi from train station. We took city bus back to train station. Once we arrived my wife realized she left a backpack behind. We didn't have enough time to bus back to hotel. I called them and they sent an employee who found the bag. They sent it by taxi to the train station for us just in time! I think they deserve the high ratings and feedback. Even without the room upgrade I would still give them a 10!

The staff were absolutely lovely. They were so helpful with every single request! Nothing was too much trouble. They organised our taxis for us to a very remote location in the Tuscan Hills! All the staff spoke fabulous English. They served a beautiful breakfast every day which was free. I cannot recommend it highly enough. If they had irons in the room I would give it ten stars! It was an absolute pleasure so stay there. We will definitely return - maybe even this year! It was TOTALLY FABULOUS

One tiny thing: no iron in the room BUT an iron was available in the Laundry Room.

First I must give kudos to the staff. Everyone I came in contact with was highly professional and always helpful. I must single out Paula at the reception. She went above and beyond to help me solve what felt like a very difficult problem. Instead she simply solved the problem in an efficient, helpful way. She never made me feel like I was asking too much or treated me like she was doing me a huge favor. The location was exactly what I wanted. Away from the most heavily trafficked streets yet just steps to where you want to be. I stayed in the main section of the hotel that was redone last year making it feel brand new while keeping the charm. I couldn’t more highly recommend the Hotel Ilaria. I fully intend to book there again next time I am in Lucca.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about the hotel. I have no complaints.

The location is perfect, within the city walls and walking distance to all you would want to see. Breakfast is good, varied and plentiful and you can take it on the terrace. The free drinks from noon are really handy when you return from shopping. The superior double room was spacious and clean with bath robes as well as towels. The staff are very friendly and helpful and you can leave luggage at check in and check out until you want to leave Lucca.

We have stayed here before but this time we were in the annex which didn’t have the same feeling as being in the main hotel. The pillows were very hard so it was not the best night’s sleep and the view from the window was onto a street at street level so we had to keep our curtains closed. I do not think it was good value for money as we paid more for this room compared to other rooms in the hotel and other hotels in the city.

We stayed for our honeymoon and couldn't have asked for better. Perfect location, minutes walk from the city walls in all directions and excellent restaurants on the door step. Around 10 minute walk from the train station too. Breakfast was excellent, thoroughly impressed with the variety and staff were attentive in ensuring it was topped up regularly. Complimentary refreshments on offer between 12-7pm which was much appreciated when we just wanted to have a short rest before heading back out. Happy hour with free prosecco between 5-7pm was also a lovely touch to enjoy a glass of bubbles before heading out for the evening or going to get ready.

Overall our stay in Lucca was outstanding, and greatly due to our stay in Hotel Ilaria. We got a room upgrade (which was kinda awkward as it was across the street) and bed was comfy and room had a well equipped bathroom. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of options including more international options, and about the same menu was served as afternoon bites, free of charge. Bicycles were provided free of charge and staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Hotel doesn't have as many facilities as a regular 4 star hotel, like gym, pool, or even room frigobar. Bikes were lacking some maintenance, especially regarding break levers. Bathroom shower leaked and soaked the floor.

The location was perfect, quiet, and close to the city walls, restaurants, and sights. Breakfast was very good, and we had a wide variety of sweet and savory food. The hotel offers a complimentary aperitivo, which was terrific after a long day's travel. We arrived by train, but the hotel has a parking lot and electric vehicle charging stations. We would love to stay there again on our next visit to Lucca.

It's not a complaint, but a suggestion that the hotel install bars to hold on to in the shower. The shower floor was slippery.

Its location for visiting the sights of Lucca. The reception staff were absolutely brilliant and went over and above to help us on every occasion: especially so when we were affected by the national rail strike. They managed to arrange a private car to take us to the airport. Such a relief. Thanks must go to the room service team too as our room was spotless on arrival and clean towels daily. Such a wonderful and delicious spread of food on offer each morning for breakfast. The staff most attentive and made sure that the dishes were regularly replenished. Would thoroughly recommend this first class hotel. Lastly the provision of drinks and nibbles late afternoon/early evening was a highlight.

There is nothing to dislike.

We loved this hotel. The front staff were all amazing they were fun and helpful especially Ilaria who arranged Pucini tickets and also recommended and booked a fantastic restaurant for us. The hotel had a range of complementary beverages and snacks available all day and the breakfast was fantastic. Could not beat the location, we walked to everything in a few minutes and we also used the free hotel bikes to ride around the wall above the town. We would definately stay again. Hotel provided paid carparking onsite and Hotel was easy to find.

Everything was perfect.

Great position within the walled city of Lucca, we originally booked one night in tower (beautiful room) but loved Lucca so much we decided to stay an extra couple of days. The tower room was pre booked but we were effortlessly moved by lovely staff into the main part of the hotel. A very enjoyable part of our stay was the free cake and coffee offered each afternoon, followed by beer and Prosecco at 5.00pm. The breakfast was also very nice and the waitresses were extremely cheerful and efficient. Nice toiletries and a comfortable bed, we would love to return to this hotel.

The parking was a bit expensive, but easy access to our car and given the fact that it was within the city walls and the hotel tariff was very reasonable, we were happy to pay.
