Great staff, excellent location, lovely rooms. The breakfast was good - typical Italian breakfast offerings.

The only problem we had was with our TV. At night, we like to watch the news from home and the TV would stop working at night. We would report it the next morning and they would have someone come and fix it, but it would happen all over again the next night. We found that the key may have been to simply not turn it off when we left the room during the day so that it was still on when we got back. When we tried that, it worked; but then when we turned it off at the end of the night, it didn't work the next morning. It was weird. Definitely not a "deal breaker" for us.

The location is excellent. The restaurant attached, although a separate business, I believe, is excellent for ambiance, food and quality wines.

We had a suite which we upgraded to and we loved the space. However, the lighting could have been better in the bathroom over / in the shower. It did appear very dark. The hairdryer in the bathroom was awful, in that you had to hold the button down for it to operate, which I understand for H&S reasons, but it was so weak power wise. I was supplied with a back-up very quickly, which was slightly better. We had tea and coffee making facilities but no milk in the fridge. Became a nuisance having to ring down for stuff. We shouldn’t have had to for the upgraded room. There is a CD in the room which didn’t work, but the radio did and was rather crackly.

Central location within the old town walls. Walking distance to all sites including transport links. Authentic Tuscany luxury decor presented with a comfortable feel and a warm welcome. A quiet location in the centre of attractions, restaurants and bars. The bed was very comfy and the room quiet and exceptionally clean. Charming Juliet balcony overlooking the narrow cobbled streets. It was great to have a kettle in the room and a powerful shower.

There was nothing not to like.

Well this is going to sound very picky and very English but I think in this day and age having the possibility to watch sports events and films after a long days sightseeing, to amuse the kids, get in out of the rain for a while and make the most of the gorgeous room we would have really appreciated some channels in English that weren’t just news. Were huge sports fans and none were available ditto the film channels, other than that no complaints

We stayed in room 23 on the ground floor adjacent to the restaurant kitchen so very noice at night up till midnight. A hotel of this standard and price should not expose guests to this disturbance and inconvenience. We were unable to change room as the hotel was fully booked. The breakfast was fine but not of a quality in line with the hotel standards and ratings. You find the same variety and quality of produce in 3 star hotels.

Wonderful hotel in a stunning central location in Lucca. Close to the station and shops/restaurants. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. Air-conditioning worked well. The breakfast choices were good and the coffee excellent. Staff were helpful and friendly.

The shower was a little dated and the steps up and down to the bathroom weren't ideal, particularly at night as it meant you needed a light on the get to the bathroom. I appreciate this may not be the case for every room and it was really a minor thing for us.

Centrally located in Lucca - and connected to a restaurant with both indoor and patio seating.

We paid for an “upgrade” from a standard room to a Junior Suite - only to find our room was not large enough to even open two suitcases without having to re-purpose the dresser to accommodate date one of them - ie FAR from the space one would expect from a “Junior Suite”. When we brought this up the front desk insisted we had indeed been given an upgraded room . . .

The property has a lot of character. The furniture & fittings were high quality. The staff were very friendly & helpful. We had a kettle in our room which seems rare in Italy. We could open the french doors & it was lovely. The room was comfortable & clean. The hotel is in a good location to explore Lucca. The restaurant in the hotel was excellent.

There wasn't anything we disliked.

Small hotel in a good central location. Rooms have been updated with stylish, modern & quality fittings. The same for the public area's, very good quality. Continental breakfast. Staff very helpful.

Could be a problem with noise for some people later at night. The outside restaurant is very popular and open to non residents,this is on one side of the building, on the other side of the building the kitchen staff "hang" around outside shouting when finished work. However, all noise stopped by midnight.

Almost impossible to get your car to the hotel. We had to call the manager to come and get us. The streets were very narrow and one way etc. Google Maps was totally useless as some streets were closed and could not find us another route to travel, The manager was amazing and came as soon as we called. The problem is if you take a car there with the intent to take your car out for road trips, it isn’t really a good idea. We had to stay in the area and leave our car where it was parked. Our recommendation is park outside the walled city and take a taxi to the hotel.
