Staff were very helpful and accommodating, orienting us to the area at check in, and answering any questions we had about the town and area. This property had parking which was a big plus. Warning however, driving in Lucca is challenging like any walled city and it took some maneuvering to get down the street to park. The property is centrally located and right off the main shopping and walking street. We could easily walk to many dinning options and everything of interest. Breakfast was very good. My husband loved the fresh squeezed juice and baked apples & I loved the pistachio cream croissants. Also offered eggs and other more traditional European breakfast selections. This property also has a small lift which was a plus.

I marked down on cleanliness only because the halls and rooms look like it could use a new coat of paint and also some bleach in the bathrooms to handle some small mold areas. It is not too bad, but the property just looks a little worn out and could use some freshening. We would stay here again if we were in the area because the pluses were much more than the negatives

This is a quirky - in the best sense of that word! - and gorgeous hotel in a gorgeous town. Our room was very pretty, and the location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Lucca (home of Puccini - make sure you go to at least one of the one-hour Puccini concerts that are offered every evening just minutes away from the hotel, with a different program each night!). But the outstanding feature is the breakfast - absolutely superb (you can even scrape your own honey from a honeycomb)! We found the staff to be very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

No real complaints. We were initially taken aback when told that there was no lift to our floor (2), only the higher ones - but the receptionist very kindly took our baggage up to the room, so no problems.

A charming old, but nicely renovated, hotel. The inside Lucca location allows for easy walking all around the walled city. Lovely breakfast included. Comfy beds and very good parking area right across the street. The parking lot gates are closed at night, so it's very secure. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Great air conditioning in the room.

There was nothing that we didn't like, just know that Lucca is NOT an easy city to drive in -- with lots of restricted driving areas. Pay VERY close attention to the directions they give you so you won't get lost (like we did because of one wrong turn) and have to call the friendly front desk for help. We knew we were close, and the front desk employee came to where we were and "walked" us along for the last two turns to the hotel street location and parking.

You are staying right in the heart of the old town, making it so easy to explore on foot. We arrived in rental car, so having the private and secure parking lot just a 1/2 a block away was important to us. You do have to pay for parking. It was eighteen euros a night when we were there. The entire property exudes old world charm and a bit of city sophistication. Our room had some beautiful frescos on the wall and several sets of small windows that let lots of natural light in an overlooked towers in town. The attached wine bar had to super lively atmosphere in the evenings. Breakfast was served on a delightful set of mismatched china and add to the ambience!

Getting to and from hotel in the old narrow streets and alleyways of town was a bit challenging by car even with very good directions from the property and google maps.

First, Giovani guided us on foot as we needed help navigating our car on the one way streets. We were warmly welcomed and our luggage were brought up to our room. The bathroom was spacious. Looking over the town through the open window was magnificent. The multiple sitting areas were available to be enjoyed. Paolo’s friendly conversation made our evening memorable. A delicious spread for breakfast with excellent service and warm atmosphere. To top it off, we were escorted out of Lucca by an employe on his motorcycle!!!

We wish we could have stayed longer!

I could go on for days about how much we loved this perfectly located boutique hotel. The staff gets it here! We were met at the front of the hotel by the staff to help grab our bags out of our rental car, and took our car to the conveniently located car park literally right across the street! The hotel is a perfect mix of antique charm, and modern comfort! We were blown away by the amazing breakfast spread and one morning after a day of exploring we wanted to sleep in a little and the staff put together a great tray to take up to the room. Whenever we needed out car we simply let them know, the lifted the gate and off we went. We loved this hotel and the people to run it and it will forever be our go to for Lucca which our new favorite Italian town. Grazie Mille per tutto! A presto!

LOVED EVERYTHING

Tucked away in a quiet alleyway in Luca, away from the hustle and bustle, is the most welcoming inn!!! Private parking way close to this little gem. Hotel Alla Corte degli Angeli is meticulously (and a bit eccentrically) decorated with period antiques throughout. The entire staff was more than friendly, helping us with directions, providing information about Lucca and giving us tips on interesting places to visit. In our 3 weeks of traveling Italy, this was by far the best breakfast with an amazing and abundant spread of healthy organic products (a fresh juicing bar!!!), homemade artisanal breads, cheeses and pastries, free range eggs snd so much more! We will most definitely be back and highly recommend this treasure to all who want to be pampered. BTW, to be able to relax at night in a hot jacuzzi soaking tub was as close to heaven as it gets-

The central location was amazing. The room itself was cool, with great air conditioning, quiet and comfortable. Good quality linen on bed. Breakfast was a lovely spread, juicers available for fresh veg and freshly squeezed orange juice. Full range of teas/coffees freshly made on request,all served on vintage china.

Very small point, our room could have been done with more hanging space for clothes - very minor issue.

Loved the painted wall decoration and high ceilings. No view to speak of in our room on first floor but pleasant enough. Very good breakfast. Quiet road. Quick to put right a couple of minor issues with the bathroom. Helpful about local restaurants. Handy for getting up onto the walls.

Minor quibbles only. A bit more local info might have been helpful, Eg we could have been told the main square was setting up for the music festival so avoid.

The hotel was really lovely - situated within an ancient building but featuring modern facilities like the fabulously spacious bathroom with spa bath and separate shower as well as the beautifully painted frescoes on the walls of the bedroom. The breakfast was plentiful with such a wide choice on offer and all beautifully displayed - it really did exceed expectations. The staff were very helpful and the location was really great being just off the main shopping street and close to the historic walls of the city.

Being from the UK we are used to having an electric kettle in the room. We had forgotten that this is not necessarily the case in Italian hotels. This additional feature would have been a bonus.
