Great location within a 3 minutes walk to a piazza with restaurants etc. 20 minutes walk from the train station. We had rain while we were there so the hotel provided umbrellas which was much appreciated. Not a huge selection for breakfast however perfectly adequate to satisfy your hunger.

Our room was quite cold. I asked in reception for the heating to be turned on but was told it was not possible, further, no plug in heater was available. Lo and behold…. I woke up the following morning to a hot radiator! Bar area (as we were inside) could be made more of for example sofas and low tables.

The breakfast was excellent and seemed to have been designed for an international audience. A real bonus was the fact that there were many gluten-free options. All of the staff that we met were very helpful and went out of their way to give us information that we needed, including making telephone calls on our behalf. The location is perfect for exploring Lucca.

Well the room although comfortable was a little small but this is a minor consideration given all the positives. The hotel is close to many tourist attractions which means that there are a number of Torres traps nearby. So I recommend avoiding any of the restaurants that are encouraging you with some insistence on coming in to sample their ways.

The location; about a 10 minute flat walk with the suitcases for 10 minutes, in town, restaurants opposite. Staff feel very welcoming and allowed us to leave our suitcases before checking so we could wander around the town. The room was very spacious which allowed for two comfortable cities and a large wardrobe. The beds were comfortable, the room was very clean and airy. The air-conditioning worked well. The bathroom was very modern including a spa bath! The ceiling was beautifully painted plus some very impressive paintings on the walls. We overlook the courtyard and it was very quiet at night.

The fact that there was no lift and we were on the second floor!

This is a nice, unpretentious hotel with great staff They thought of everything at breakfast which isn't easy, including gluten free options, an egg maker, pastry, coffee CANADIANO etc. I felt comfortable as a solo traveller and they deal with a lot of international people as well as Italians . The atmosphere is inviting and simple.

E un po furbo a dicer que la stanza ha un Vista di il giardino. It's a bit of a stretch to say that my room had a "courtyard and GARDEN view." As you can see from the picture, it looks like a prison, not a garden. However, I asked for a quiet room, and this was quiet so I appreciated that. Also , the cleaners were lovely and kind women who really go the extra mile. Wonderful people. Professional, helpful and kind. I saw some cars parked by the door so they clearly try to accommodate drivers as well although I came by train, as do many. I had issues with my safety box beeping in the middle of the night but a lovely woman came and managed to make it stai zitto or be quiet.

Lovely staff, couldn't have been better and a big thanks to the breakfast lads who never missed a beat. Location is wonderful, nice room with a beautiful small bathroom. Spotlessly clean, good comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent with enough variety including cheese, meats, yogurts and boil your on eggs. Great idea and easy to do. Wonderful value for money in Lucca and I repeat; staff and location.

Our room overlooked the entrance and the restaurant across, which on Friday night was very loud. We also couldn’t use the air conditioning because they said it’s still cold morning and night, but with window closed due to noise it was stuffy. We got a fan the second night from the hotel and it made a big difference

Fabulous location with superb Osteria right opposite. Staff so helpful. Room safe not working but secure box and key behind reception provided free of charge. Needed to but 3pin Italian adaptor as old hotel but not a problem. Great hotel And so friendly. Absolutely loved first visit to Lucca.

The room was in the side building, large and bright with a nice view of the roof-tops of Lucca, beautiful! It was to the back and very quiet, no fans with annoying sound. The bath-room was very nice and lots of hot water, good shower. The room is not typicly modern, but has an old fashion charm. The location is just perfect in the middle of the town and easy reach to everything, shops, bars, restaurants, sights and of course the city wall which is perfect for a walk with our dog. The breakfast was very good and there is a bar with a good selection. Parking is possible at the location, very convenient! But most of all, the very best part is the exceptional staff, so nice and welcoming and most helpful! We are hoping to be back real soon!

I miss a water-kettle in the room, but it is possible to get hot water and coffe in the bar-area. The bed could have been better.

Hotel La Luna was just a lovely place to stay whilst we explored Lucca and the surrounding area. It was very well located for the Centro Storico, only a couple of hundred yards from the Piazza Antifeatro. The rooms were very comfortable (especially the beds) and were always kept clean and tidy. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff in the hotel and they were very attentive to guests. There was a good range of foods available for breakfast each day from pastries and cakes to boiled eggs to the traditional cooked meats and cheeses. All in all a very pleasant stay.

La Luna is in a great location in the old part of Lucca. It’s not ‘brand new’ but it has the charm of a hotel that has operated well for a long time. Special mention of the kind staff who organised our taxi on our departure. It was late - they let the taxi company know! Bravo.

An operating elevator would’ve been good.
