Lovely hotel, the rooms are nice and comfortable. We asked a lovely lady at reception to change our room as we were at the front of the hotel, which was quite noisy. This was no problem. We got a nice quiet room at the back. The breakfast was very good, we were served by a very nice waiter (Alan)? on Saturday morning. The lady who served us on Sunday morning was a different story (we didn't get her name), no manner, no eye contact, etc. She huffed and puffed every time she passed our table! Great location. There is no car parking with the hotel, but you can park in the Clock Tower carpark across the road for €5 per day. It is very close to good bars and restaurants. There is a very good Indian next door (Peppers). Overall, we had a lovely weekend at Granville and would recommend it to friends.
The surly waitress!

Beautiful independent hotel with fantastic staff. The restaurant serves excellent food- we enjoyed the breakfast which is exceptional. Also dinner which was tasty and beautifully served. The bar here is very good, spacious with a jolly atmosphere. Our rooms were comfortable with everything we needed - if a little dated. It was noisy for us overlooking the water as they are doing major constructive works opposite the hotel. The area will be stunning when finished later this year but just now rather noisy. The hotel position is great to wander round Waterford, we loved the hotel!

This time we came for a weekend break. As usual, everything was perfect. Before arrival, detailed information from the hotel about the car park and a special discount for hotel guests, wonderful carvery lunch, à la carte breakfast, very clean amd warm, brightly lit room (which I really like), very friendly and helpful staff, great location, on Saturday evening fantastic live music played by a vocal and guitar duo. Prices for this class of hotel are very friendly. We will definitely return to Granville Hotel.

Location is absolutely brilliant. I came up with my son from Fermoy and stayed for 1 night. Had an amazing dinner. What I really liked about this hotel is staff- really friendly, smiling and helpful. The whole hotel was very clean including our room. Our room was really spacious, clean and we had a bath (I have a shower at home so it was nice to relax after a 4-5 hours travelling the bus). I had full irish breakfast with decaf cappucino- it was so delicious. I will definitely come back there and stay longer next time as it's worth it. I would like to thank all staff, especially from the restaurant for providing us a relaxing stay. This was the best hotel I had ever stay in.

Granville Hotel is steeped in history and tradition, evident in the furnishings and interiors throughout the hotel. We had a lovely, warm welcome from the ladies on reception, who issued our keys on arrival as we had already checked in online. The location is second to none- you are within a short walk of the Viking Triangle and all major tourist attractions. Within the hotel, there is a lovely traditional bar, enjoyed by locals and guests alike. On Friday night, we had the pleasure of enjoying a band too, playing some traditional Irish music. The rooms were immaculately clean, and bright and quiet as we were situated away from the quay and street, which we appreciated as we were travelling with our toddler and my elderly Dad. We were also grateful for the tea-making facilities and complimentary water. The hotel has very nice toiletries too and pristine, white fluffy towels.
The only slight disappointment was that there was no mini-bar/fridge, which we would have appreciated with a young child. Also, whilst reception did accommodate us with lovely rooms that were side by side (at my request), housekeeping set up my son's cot in the smaller of the two rooms, so while my Dad enjoyed a lovely spacious room, we were slightly cramped in our room as a three! I am guessing it should have been the other way around.

I did not realise when I booked what a lovely hotel this is! Spacious and elegant with old world charm, and a historic site in its own right. The staff were all lovely and I booked my first night dinner in the hotel’s Bianconi restaurant which was excellent!
While not a problem for me, to reach my room it was a bit of an adventure up and down stairs and along corridors. This was good for being at the quiet end of a hallway, but a caution for less mobile travellers to advise staff if stairs are an issue

Great location, beautiful room, a lovely stay. We usually stay in 3-star type hotels, and did a lot of AirBnBs, and lodging houses on this trip so this stay at this "fancy" hotel was a highlight of our trip. I chose it because of is reputation for beautiful stained glass and my wife does stained glass as a hobby so this was a surprise booking for her. If we were to return to Waterford we would DEFINITELY stay here again. The room was lovely. The bed was comfortable and everything was pretty perfect for us!!

Historic building especially for those interested in Irish history. Fabulous location. The town centers on the hotel. Bar with nice music. Parking is inexpensive across the road from the hotel (hotel car park). Lots of places to see and visit close by. Hotel is not a chain but rather a building with a ton of old world character. Tea/Coffee facililities in the bedroom including biscuits/cookies which is a nice touch. Old world but very functional bathroom. Super water pressure. Award winning breakfast with a combination of buffet and waiter served choices. Very comfortable bed.

We can tell you that the staff are amazing. In this day and age when the pace is so fast it is lovely to go in the door of The Granville Hotel and feel that you are important and the staff have all the time in the world just for you. At this point I would especially like to mention Fiona at reception. She was our first contact with staff and she was exceptional in how she sorted us out. We had an issue with a One4All voucher and she calmly sorted it out with the help of a male colleague who unfortunately we did not get his name. Afrer all that the bar staff, restaurant staff, housekeeping, and everyone in between were very very nice and helpful. We have to mention the kitchen crew who turned our fabulous food from breakfast to dinner. As you can guess , we were very impressed and would highly recommend this hotel .
Very little.! The hotel was perfect .We had a huge room 211 only fault was no air conditioning, but in their defence the hotel supplied a fan in the room which was a great help. Only other issue was the sea gulls ! which the hotel could do nothing about., but those birds like to "sing " early.

Gorgeous historic hotel! We stayed one night here, and loved the ambiance and the staff. The location right on the waterfront was perfect (although lots of construction going on there) for easy walking the town and right around the corner from the pedestrian mall area. Mentioning the construction, our room faced the street and we were not bothered at all by any street noise. Parking was easily available in the public lot across which the hotel validates. Our rooms were comfy and bathrooms were modern with a full tub. We did eat breakfast in the restaurant and the selection was great plus we were gifted a small package with oatmeal and whisky to take with us! The bar area was also wonderful with good typical Irish bar food like chowder, etc. The staff were also super nice in all areas from the front desk to the bar and restaurant. A bonus for accessibility was the elevator as many historic hotels in Ireland do not have them.
