Fortune Pandiyan Hotel, Madurai - Member ITC's Hotel Group

Breakfast spread was excellent. It included some surprise, regional foods like kambu koozh and ragi puttu. Very healthy yet very thoughtful menu.

1. The outside of the building - the front porch and the surroundings were not clean, especially, the empty cigarettes' cases, cigarettes' butts etc were not removed and it gave an ugly appearance. 2. We had problems in loading the car as the area to park the car for loading was not available for quite some time. The in-charge was not able to request the people to move their cars from that area as he was very hesitant to request people. 3. A suggestion - you could offer services to clean the guests' cars, if they stayed overnight. The leaves and flowers from the trees in the parking lot, the bird excreta and the mud/dirt because of the drizzling rain - all messed up the car.

The breakfast itself was good though you have to find out for yourself that there are omelet and dosa stations outside. The bartender in the Ranch Bar was great. Maybe have him teach the breakfast host how to interact with guests. The room was large. It had a mini bar and a safe. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Housekeeping did a great job. The hotel has an outdoor pool but it closes by 6 pm.

The host at breakfast just waved at me. No welcome, good morning, help yourself to the buffet. Why was he even there?

The location is really good, inside city. There’s also enough space, i.e. parking or drop area, to go for a walk. There’s a bar inside the hotel premises and they have all the needed brands. There’s also drinks available in the room if you need it.

Nothing much to say. Though it’s in the city but you would still need to get an auto or taxi/cab to go to other places. The AC in the room was really good but strangely I wasn’t able to change the temperature. It was happening automatically depending on the room temperature but there should be a facility for us to change.

it was very clean, the food was good and yummy i had it for dinner and for breakfast. the staff was very helpful and accommodating. I didn’t have to wait long for the dinner and got some extra food in the morning. the breakfast buffet was really good. they had a great choice between continental and typical South Indian food and a lot of fresh fruits the had a good choice of tea and coffee at the minibar

the hotel is directly located at a junction so there was traffic noise all night. the settings of the ac were too cool. i think around 16 degrees. i turned it off after arriving. 18 degrees would have been sufficient unfortunately the swimming pool is closing at 6pm so I couldn’t visit it. would have been great if otherwise

Pleasant staff and big clean rooms. Air con and wifi worked well. We were disappointed that the pool was closed while we were there consequently the gardens were a bit like a building site. Raj in the bar was very friendly and helpful. The bar was a bit dark but perhaps that’s because other residents like to keep a low profile in there. The restaurant food was very good and tasty.

The swimming pool wasn't available to use

Excellent hotel. Very clean, quiet, pretty room, good restaurant, very well working A/C, great breakfast, very nice staff. Staff wears masks, hand sanitizer everywhere.

The only thing I could mention is a suggestion to switch off the corridor music at night (no bother with the A/C on in any case but perhaps disturbing if the AC is off). Shower is easier to use (especially for older guests) and to clean than a bath tub.

Breakfast buffet was very good. Poori/bhaaji was awesome! Room was very well maintained and comfortable. Location of the hotel is ideal - in the city but away from the din of a city centre! Staff were friendly and warm - two of them need special mention - Saravana Kumar of Housekeeping, and Charanraj at the restaurant Orchid. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised to see Sarvana Kumar standing-in for Charanraj (when he was off-duty) - good team work.

Disappointed that we could not login to the free Wifi, even after several attempts.

Breakfast was very good with many varieties of tiffins, salads, juices and toast. We had been late for the breakfast during our stay but the staff were so nice that they gave us a lot of time to enjoy our food. Location is also great and close to many temples. Staff were polite and a special mention about Mr. Vasu, the front line manager who organised a cake for my son’s birthday. One more staff, Rishab, was also very helpful.

For the price, I think the hotel has all facilities needed.can’t think of any negative things.

Clean maitainance of the place.

The service in the restaurant. A supervisor was very impatient to my parents who went to have their dinner. The service was very unpleasant and he showed a bad gesture of hitting his forehead over seeing my father who felt really bad. Please educate the serving people to serve older people as well. Every one is gonna get older and may be a bit challenging to handle. But that doesn't mean that they can be treated this way. We trust ITC for its service.. This kind of gesture is really commendable. Please look into this..

Really helpful staff. Pool clean. Bed comfortable. Good that glass bottles used for filtered water

Back of bedside cabinets dirty. Outside tatty. Plastic water bottles used too much. individual sachets used for jam and tea etc. Too much single use plastic and no notices around saying how everything is being recycled or if it is recycled at all. This is 2023!!
