The hotel is quiet and the small garden at the rear is an oasis. Very helpful staff, especially M Rajesh and Kamatchi in the restaurant, and Saranya Devi in Housekeeping. The restaurant has a wide choice of dishes, and the buffet is very good value if you would like to try a range of dishes. The location is fine - there's also a shopping mall and a good supermarket nearby, plus ATMs. I spent 14 nights there (my third long visit), and shall rebook when making my next visit to Madurai.

Service in the restaurant could be more efficient at times - this does not apply to M Rajesh and Kamatchi, both of whom are very attentive and helpful.

The rooms looked really nice with the Heritage look. The bathrooms could have been better but they were considerably good as per a 3 star hotel standard. The hotel staff was very nice and polite as well.

The hotel restaurant was very average and not upto the standards. We ordered 3 north Indian dishes and all of them tasted same, seemed like they were made in the same gravy. Also, had an incident where we found hair in food, so not a great place for food. But you can absolutely stay there since facilities are nice.

This is a gem of a hotel. The staff were professional, friendly and helpful. The rooms were attractive and spacious. The location was excellent, on a quiet street but only 10 mins across the river by tuk tuk to the Meenakshi temple and the crowds. The restaurant was great quality - buffet style breakfast and dinner with plenty of choice. There is a travel desk that can help with organising tours of the temples, a delightful pool (for a swim in between sight seeing and shopping) and a beauty salon. Highly recommended.

Honestly there wasn't anything I disliked about the hotel. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Simply Impeccable... We recently had the pleasure of staying here and can honestly say that it was one of the best hotels we stayed at. From the moment we arrived, until we reluctantly checked out, we were immersed in a world of luxury, heritage, and relaxation. As we approached Madurai, we started seeing their advertisements here and there and we were a little spectacle about it. But, the moment we entered the gate, we were struck by the beautiful architecture with lush tropical foliage. The initial impression was nothing less than we expect from any star hotel. Valet Parking, Front Office, and baggage handling were carefully handled. The pathways were made sure to keep to the Royal Heritage with themed paintings. We booked two Executive Rooms which were spacious and featured all the modern amenities one could wish for. The attention to detail in the room's design and décor was evident. Speaking of dining, the culinary experience was outstanding. Breakfast Buffet included both traditional and English. In short, A Worthy Contender Standing Shoulder to Shoulder with any Taj out there.

The staff were very helpful especially the travel desk who helped us arrange many tours and drivers. The view from the rooftop area is nice. Our room had a great view too. Nice variety of food for breakfast. Pool well kept and refreshing as it was very hot even in December.

There are no rooftop eating places as the pictures suggest, unless you book a private function space on one of the rooftop spaces. The actual restaurant where guests can eat is on the ground floor overlooking the pool area.

The rooms were spacious and the staff was very pleasant and friendly. The hotel has a great travel desk at the lobby who are able to provide very cost effective and reliable transport service. We took their service to kodai in an Innova . The car was comfortable and the driver was reliable. The staff at the restaurant and specially at their bakery were very friendly and great at their service. The staff at the bakery (which is on the top most floor ) showed us around and also gave us freshly baked cake and cinnamon roll to try. The rooms are clean, aesthetically done.

The reality matched the pictures. Our room was large and comfortable and overlooked the pool and the gardens and wás a joy to sit in the sun in the window - great that there were chairs provided for this. The bathroom was a good size and well layed out. The restaurant was great for both breakfast and dinner and special mention must be made to Rajesh who went above and beyond at every meal. All the staff from the guards, reception, cleaning and the pool team were professional and helpful.

There was not a thing wrong with any aspect of this motel.

Room Closet are too small. Breakfast with same menu is boring. Menu items in room service also need improvement. Like when I asked for sandwich, always same menu will be answered. Gym equipments are too less. At least basic bench press is required. Room bed head direction faces North. As we never sleep in North direction, this is terrible. Wi-Fi not works in few locations, like when I stayed in room no 506

It is centrally located, almost in a secluded spot, with good greenery cover, convenient for visit to Sri Meenakshi Amman Temple. Arvind Eye Hospital and other tourist attractions. Staff, right from the gate, parking area to reception and bell boys were polite, helpful and smiling. Décor which is essentially artistry with solid wood is unique, plus amazing gallery of Photographs and Paintings. Great Restaurant with caring staff with brilliant fare of South Indian delicacies, Indian food as well Continental food. Rooms are spacious, again solid wood dominating. Toilets have solid granite finish. Great shower. Wifi is is good. A place you can have freak out with camera for sheer brilliance of wood furniture, carvings and sculpture.

Mosquito control needs to improve. Lounge was so spacious and endearing but mosquitoes made it unenjoyable.
