Château De Pray

The beautiful property, refreshing pool, and of course the incredible restaurant made this a spectacular stay! This property has the perfect mix of history, charm and also comfort. The evening dinner outside on patio will be a night my husband, daughter and I will remember for a lifetime. Truly lovely and special stay. Also, well located in quiet area that is quick drive for touring Amboise and surrounding region. Good recommendations provided by hotel staff for sightseeing.

One minor complaint was the service at breakfast. We arrived on the later side (slightly after 9) so it was probably better earlier. We had to ask for plates, glasses, eggs, and coffee even though there was staff present in the room. Seemed a contrast to the rest of the service and quality, especially for additional fee.

Excellent restaurant, friendly and attentive staff, comfortable beds, very clean. Excellent back massage down by the heated pool.

The flood lights just outside our room cannot be turned off manually. They go off automatically at 1am so at night our door and windows were full of insects attracted by the light. Therefore we could not sleep with the window open. Luckily someone came over at 11pm to show us how to put on the A/C. Other than that, our stay was lovely.

one of the best hotels I’ve visited. you live in a real chateau, very charmant, clean, comfortable beds, very nice stuff. there is a heated pool outside. the building itself is really a bijou!

you are a bit outside Amboise, so need to go there by car. around the hotel there is really nothing. the restaurant of the hotel was closed and the menu to order was really scare.

Attractive Chateau retaining its character. Very helpful and engaging staff. Comfortable rooms in period style. Excellent dinner in the restaurant.

While breakfast was very adequate I think for a hotel of this stature it could have been better with a bit more choice and local products. Home made yoghurt and jam for example.

Superb restaurant with excellent staff and cuisine, I loved the location cut back into the rock face. A very quiet, historic chateau with helpful staff. Breakfast was good and they accommodated our dog both in our room and in the restaurant. Lovely woodland walk along a moss covered path although plenty of mosquitoes.

The standard of cooking in the restaurant is excellent but I realised later that by ordering from the a La Carte it was more expensive than the most expensive 'Menu' which was slightly disappointing. We prefer not to eat meat but found good fish/vegetarian options although no specific vegetarian dishes.

A very comfortable hotel. Excellent service throughout our stay. Great location to explore Amboise area. Swimming pool area extremely pleasant area to relax after a day of visiting chateaux. Be aware that restaurant is not open Sunday evening to Wednesday - I can’t comment on restaurant therefore as this coincided with visit.

Excellent location, clean and very comfortable bed. Nice size room and nicely decorated. Everything feels luxurious.

Dinner at the hotel’s restaurant at the night of Easter was absolutely the worst meal I have ever had. It was inedible.Service was extremely poor and expensive. I wouldn’t eat there for free if they invited me again.

Completely misled by description of location. It said a stone's throw from Amboise. In fact it was a car journey of 2 kilometers. Given that the restaurant was closed we had to drive into Amboise for an evening meal

Beautiful old chateau, great atmosphere, spacious and well maintained rooms with luxurious beds. Warm and welcoming staff, heated pool and gorgeous grounds. 3km to Amboise center (less than 5min by car) but wonderfully quite and relaxing. Highly recommend if you plan to visit Amboise.

Would be helpful to have more outlets in the room to charge phones/laptops. A shower curtain would be great as well.

The chateau is a beautiful and peaceful place to stop over, and is in a wonderful location on the banks of the Loire. The restaurant is of a very high standard with inventive and elegant cooking fully deserving its Michelin star. The wine list is focussed and has many good bottles from the region that accompany the food perfectly. The rooms are comfortable and the staff are gracious, and helpful.

Nothing, although on this occasion there seemed to be fewer staff in the hotel than previously, and one or two more people would have reduced waiting times.
