Hotel Sepia

Positives: - VERY well located: as a train traveller a short 5 min walk away from the Sainte-Foy train station and a 25 min straight bus ride to old Quebec. - EXTREMELY helpful and courteous staff: was able to leave them my luggage for a few hours free of charge, no questions asked, absolutely 0 wait time, no matter the hour or time of day, always polite and friendly, no matter the employee. - Bed and pillows are super comfy, but bedding choice is a bit weird, but that's more subjective.

Negatives: - Room layout makes it feel a bit more cramped than it should be - Room lighting is a lacking (many lights, but none powerful enough to fully light the room) - Hallway resonate (you can hear doors closing, ppl passing, etc.)

Hotel is very well located, nice comfy beds, staff is polite and accommodating.

The disappointment is the Galopin restaurant, while the food is exceptional and the staff was always really friendly and helpful. They don't have a reserved area for hotel guests, which makes really difficult to find a table to have breakfast or dinner.. there was always plenty of space available at the bar or in other spots, but they were denying hotel guests say that were fully booked. The room could have better lighting and charging spots.

On-site staff, for the most part, were appropriate and kind. As per the condition of the property was outstanding and well-kept by the team. Acceptability for restaurants and Old City, Quebec, was close.

Unfortunately, I recommend that each floor the guest occupies carry a microwave and acceptability of ice. Also, extra staff on site for guests who required assistance with any item or help with equipment within the room or needed something to be bought to the room for a room rather than asking the guests to leave the room to go to the opposite side of the compound to get something that can be served to the guests instead, especially in cold weather, no one wants to leave their room.

Very convenient location for a stopover by car, right near the aquarium and about 20 minutes from downtown. Very comfortable bed. Toiletries were generous and of good quality. Quick service of a tasty breakfast: no buffet, but a good range of menu choices. Staff cheerfully switched to English to cater to one of our party. Definitely a cut above the average motel.

Puzzled that such a modern hotel would have so few convenient electrical outlets in the room. Although there was good soundproofing between the rooms, you could certainly hear folks in the hall.

Very European style room. The options of food and juice was an added bonus since I was too late from the airport to utilize the attached beautiful restaurant. Awesome shower and great bed !! Attached beautiful restaurant 10/10 for breakfast !!!

The outside doors don't appear to be secure. No card needed to enter facility. Hard to navigate from the airport with detours and google maps when unfamiliar with this city. Took me more than an hour to find.

The place offer a lot of service and answer to questions about activities around. It is also one of the only place that accept dogs in Québec. It is easy to reach by car and have parking. We arrived late and the check in happened fast.

They charged me the safety amount twice. And even if they give it back after, they still took 500$ from my credit card in one bit. It was 300$ more than expected. It brought a lot of confusion, I had to go to the room, look at my reservation, come back, and when I told them, they just said : oh, no biggies, it's gonna go back to you. But it is not everyone that can afford to have 500$ on they credit card one shot without calculating it before. I think they had a lot of new employees or the communication in their team.

Great breakfast, although not included in rate. Room clean, comfortable enough.

Restaurant closed on Monday as well as most other restaurants in the area. Of course we travelled on Monday night too :)

Clean rooms, coffee machine and fridge in room. Superb bed and bedding. Friendly and helpful staff

Visitors are required (rightly so) to wear a mask in public spaces. Reception staff, although behind plexiglas, did not. Given the location of this hotel and the many spaghetti type interchanges in the area, it is for those unfamiliar, easy to get lost even with GPS. A small map of the immediate surroundings of the hotel, (particularly since the hotel has 2 exits) indicating the direction to take to get to the Old City.

Room was immaculately clean and bed was extremely comfortable

I would have liked to know before reserving that a security deposit was required Couple of large cushions or larger pillows would be nice to support my back when reading in bed

The Hotel Sepia is charming. I had a lovely large, pet-friendly room on the main floor. The Nespresso coffee maker (with real creamers in the fridge) was a nice touch. We also had a delicious meal at the on-site restaurant, Galopin. I had a delightful stay.
