YWCA Hotel Vancouver

Despite being billed as a two-star hotel, the YWCA offers clean, user-friendly rooms that also manage to be quiet despite being in a busy part of downtown Vancouver.

I wasn't pleased to see the cleaning staff being unmasked while entering guest rooms.

The YWCA Hotel is a great place for independent travellers who don't need a lot of pampering. Its location is close to public transit, restaurants, attractions and shopping. The rooms are extremely clean and the beds and pillows are very comfortable. We slept very well here in this quiet room. Coffee and ice water were available in the lobby. China dishes and utensils were available to borrow for the duration of your stay. We appreciated the transit directions given in the Guest Services binder.

The floor in the elevator is dirty and detracts from one's first impressions. A second chair in the room would have been appreciated.

The hotel was really nice. We didn’t realise when booking that some rooms have a shared bathroom with other people in the hotel so we asked for a bigger room. The staff were quite confused with what we wanted in the end but they managed to get another room for us with no problem. Would really recommend this hotel for tourists as it’s right in the centre of Vancouver and it’s easy to walk to a lot of places.

Some information on arrival about needing to book a maid etc but other then that nothing to complain about.

Originally booked a standard room with shared bathroom but when I got there I was upgraded to a room with a private bathroom and was lucky to be able to check in early after an overnight flight. Really good location. Walking distance to public transportation and shops and different sites.

Great value for money in a central location, within walking distances of restaurants and other attractions in downtown Vancouver. The hotel is recently renovated, which was great! Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly. I would stay here again.

Sharing a bathroom with another room is not ideal, but it wasn't bad. And definitely worth the saved cost.

The YWCA is in an excellent location, has good facilities and the renovation is looking great!

Although the kitchens are renovated, there's nothing to cook with! Any crockery has to be asked for at the front desk which is very annoying. It makes no sense to have a beautiful kitchen and nothing in it!

Really nice rooms and facilities. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and we really enjoyed our stay. We would recommend to others and stay again.

The location is amazing to visit downtown. There are 2 train stations really close to the hotel that allow you to go anywhere you want. Easy and fast connections with public transport. Taking a day pass makes it easier and is totally worth it. The beds are comfy enough for 2 nights. There was water and coffee in the lobby.

Your neighbors next door might be loud night owls. You can hear everything from music to talks near the elevators. Some party going on between 2 and 3am. Also the patio on the 11th floor was closed. And upon leaving, I could see that some customers could check in early or on time as seen in the comments but we had to wait until 4pm (although I sent a message stating that our flights got changed).

I loved the location of my room facing the stadium and a portion of downtown. My room also had a private bathroom. The property was clean and maintained. The staff was very helpful and I like that I could have stored my luggage before and after check in. There was a patio lounge area on one of the floors so that was great to go and relax. There was a kitchen and kitchenette to prepare food.

They didn’t offer breakfast but had coffee and water in the lobby in addition to several vending machines. The tv lounge was currently under construction. Housekeeping came in my room even though I put a sign on the door not to come in. I saw new towels in the bathroom when I came back. Thats how I knew someone entered my room when I was gone.
