Victorian Hotel

Second time at Victorian Hotel only means we really liked staying at the hotel when in Vancouver. I give praises to the housekeeping staffs, they really work hard to make the hotel very clean. Front desk personnel are very attentive as well. Near places we wanted to visit, close to gastown and other places to visit. Little sketchy in late afternoon -block away from hotel but homeless don’t mind you. I would stay here again, hopefully next time they will attached a lift/ elevator to the building so that people with some difficulty walking up the stairs to the third floor won’t be hard on them. Loved the nespresso coffee machine in the room and the white bathrobes, it would also be nice to add slippers for guests to wear since we have to walk to the shared bathrooms👌

Maybe pls add some hooks inside closet to hang towels after use...something similar to the hooks inside the bathroom By the way - had no problem with shared bathroom- it was always clean - there were 3 newly renovated modern bathrooms on same floor for guests to use anytime.

Beautiful hotel with modern and historical touches. Offered an upgrade for a fair price.

Outside the hotels control, however, we were aggressively pushed and followed by a homeless man outside the hotel. Staff were helpful in locking the door. High numbers of drug use and homelessness in the hotel area.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Characterful hotel with clean rooms and excellently maintained shared bathroom system. The hotel was conveniently located near pubs, restaurants, and public transport hubs. I had posted several packages in advance of my stay and the front desk had kindly assembled and kept these for me so that they were awaiting my arrival.

The main shortcoming was the lack of a desk in the bedroom. This is particularly annoying for business travellers who need to work in their rooms. Although space is limited, even a small desk and chair would have been most welcome. The hotel is unfortunately located on the opposite side of the Salvation Army building. There is nothing it can do about this, but it does mean that the nearby streets are frequented by drug addicts and other vulnerable people, although I encountered no hostility from them.

The Victorian is in a perfect location to catch the hop on hop off bus, just walk around and see the city, and it was close to the cruise port and about 25 minutes from the airport.

If I stayed there again, I would definitely ask for a room that is not on the street side. The hotel is located on a somewhat busy street and I am a light sleeper and sometimes the noise of the traffic bothered me. It did not bother my friend at all. But that’s really the only criticism that I have.

Beautifully redone. Much better than these tall high rise hotels. Very comfortable and Sandy at the desk was fantastic. Sandy gave us great info on the city and what we should see. Would go back to Vancouver again and would stay at the Victorian hotel. can’t say enough about it.

We were lucky our room was 210 and didn’t have to climb stairs. At our age stairs are becoming an issue. loved the location.

The location is perfect, walking distance from the Vancouver downtown. The staff is quite attentive and friendly. The room is clean and well-facilitated. No breakfast included but there's a Nespresso machine in the room which I found quite convenient.

The walls and floors are not thick enough so I heard noises at night and in the early morning from people walking in the hallways or when someone closed their doors too hard. The parking instructions could be clearer upfront. You can park in the small alley next to the hotel before you check in. Then they will give you the parking garage remote key upon check-in.

Everything was very walkable from this hotel. There are blocks, around the hotel, that are a bit run down compared to the block the hotel sits on. That being said, we never felt unsafe walking around at night. The staff was very nice and always at the front. Our room was wonderful. Very clean and comfortable. (The pictures are of one of the ferry boats one can take around false creek to get around. We took the ferry to Granville Island where the other picture is from the Granville Market. The cherries we bought there were amazing.)

We had no complaints. This was a very nice hotel. I am sad it is already booked out for our next trip to Vancouver in October.

The Victorian Hotel is a cozy hotel in downtown Vancouver, close to Gastown and the harbor. The beds are very comfortable! The rooms have a very comfy vibe with the hardwooden floors and partly antique furniture. I didn't mind at all that my room had a shared bathroom. The bathrooms on the floor were very large, clean. I actually preferred it this way to having my own tiny bathroom. The staff is very friendly and accomodating with an excellent eye for detail. I would definitely choose this hotel again when I return to beautiful Vancouver.

Room was very unique looking which enhanced our experience. Great service, very friendly and always helpful. Nervous about the shared washrooms yet they were always clean and in prefect conditions. Room service was available everyday so happy to come back to a clean room and nicely made bed. Had a car so we liked how we could enter from the back of the hotel after parking it. Felt secured leaving our car there as it's guarded with a gate. Overall great stay!

Lack of parking spots and options. Had to park far from the hotel the first night and pay extra for parking as there were no more parking spots left at the hotel. Didn't feel completely safe when walking from our car's parked location to the hotel at night.

Very clean, well furnished and nice hotel, close to downtown (I enjoyed the position very much). The staff was very helpful and accommodating. I couldn't ask for more. I liked the atmosphere

Somewhat noisy environment outside. Lack of breakfast opportunities on site (though the availability of an in-room Nespresso machine, daily refilled with coffee, partially compensated for this). In any case: both circumstances were clear from the hotel site, so no real complaint
