Grand Hotel and Apartments Townsville

A great location close to eateries, Townsville Brewery and the stadium. Effortless checkin process. and the staff were very informative about the facilities. We had a spacious apartment with a comfortable bed (memory foam topper), clean bathroom and kitchen, good cooking facilities. A good separate desk setup for doing some emails etc, and a separate dining table and chairs. The gym was spotless no sweaty odour, and had the latest equipment, ( stepper, ergo bike, concept 2 rower, total gym setup, dumbbells from 3kg to over 20kg, fitness ball and yoga mat). Towels, water bubbles and hand sanitiser. I didn't try the pool, but it also was clean and provided clean towels and lounges /deck chairs. The front desk is attended 24/7.

Everything was great. There's really not much of a view as it is a low rise building (4 stories) and not elevated over the horizon. There was only instant coffee/tea bags/uht milk and a kettle, so if you want an espresso you'll need to go to cafes along Palmer St.

The hotel is in an excellent location. Range of great restaurants, pubs and eateries on your doorstep. Short walk to the Strand, ferries and town. Spacious room, very comfortable bed, complimentary water bottles, clean and quiet.

Parking fee, $15 per day for outdoor parking, $25 a day for undercover parking. Person on reception was not particularly friendly on arrival. The pool and spa were a factor when choosing this accommodation, but unfortunately, the pool was too cold to swim in in July :(.

The size of the apartment was fantastic, very spacious but also well equipped to stay longer. The location was within walking distance to town and some wonderful restaurants in the street but with the doors closed we slept like babies not hearing the passers by downstairs after the all stars game. All staff we encountered were very helpful and our room was serviced well during our stay.

location great , nice and quiet. The street out the front had some nice places for a drink or to eat.

bed was old and not in great condition ,stained and collapsed on the edge. the rooms felt dark with the lighting and decor , we had an outlook over the carpark and towards the docks . one day someone accidentally came into our room with another key card which was a bit disconcerting but someone came up straight away to change the code.

The property is in a fantastic location, very close walking distance to The Strand and restaurants etc. The hotel is simple, luxurious and very clean. The rooms are large and have plenty of space to move around, also balcony offers some fresh air and a nice view. We stayed for 2 nights and we had the bed re made and towels changed for fresh ones which I thought was a very nice gesture. The bed and pillows are so comfortable, making it hard to drag yourself out of bed in the morning. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay again.

The large bed seemed to be separating in the middle but very comfortable.

24 hour reception! awesome staff! location is excellent, new hotel, great size room. a selection of pillows. really appreciate the vegan/paraben free/cruelty free shampoo and body wash.

the noise! split doorways were extremely noisy, we could hear the neighbors going in back and forth. bathroom was too small compared to room size and lacked hooks, there was no where to hang clothes. the balcony was half concrete parapet, not glass (per pictures). TV remote didn’t work. the king bed had a split in between (two singles attached), was not comfortable.

Location is very close to CDB and Palmer street which has several eating and drinking places. Its a short walk to the Strand and both Magnetic Island ferries. The rooms are clean and we had a great view of the city. The gym is ok. The staff are positive and helpful. We had two separate stays within a week and the hotel was happy to store our luggage in between stays.

The batteries in the electronic lock to our room died and we had to call reception and wait outside while new batteries were fetched. ( Staff were quick to respond however- so that is a plus). We had a king bed which was actually two singles pushed together. Not really an issue but we were not expecting it. The room doors close loudly and our immediate neighbour left at 5:00 each morning waking us up.

The front desk for the very 1st time I have experienced a staff member immediately come and physically open and tend to guest who needed to be let into the hotel from undercover car park area. And should be known nd appreciated for their work ethic as it shows pro active nd positive exsample in displaying guest confidence in hotels indivual ethics to the body corporate and owners of the hotels buisness mannerisums Of a few things should be taken notes and addressed Guest who do require special need facilities. Should not have guests to whome would feel uncomfortable for the rooms that are catered for guest who stay and require those shower areas Other then that if i was to stay their again I would be revisiting those small but important things I pay attention to as a guest nd not as a staff member

Staff didn't inform me of the showering facilities being for special needs. Nd should of taken that into consideration when I arrives or made arrangements for 1 bedroom apartment with appropriate enclosed shower recess nd should consider the need and use for appropriate guest's to whome would need that facilitie Also the turn around on the deposit return should be addressed. Comming from a guest who will incure intrest charges to his financial accounts. The length and time period on the deposit should be immediate upon stay is over. As any bank can now obtain and release holding funds to or from the account holding regardless of the hotels policies and accounting policy

Great apartment within walking distance of restaurants, cafes, bottle shop. Bed & pillows were amazing. Extremely quiet

Only had a view out over the back carpark as on Level 1, but we did have a balcony which was nice. Rooms not quite as spectacular looking as on website, but comfy & clean Bathroom was large, but would be nice if washing machine/dryer was hidden away with a door. No toilet brush. Deep bath with shower overhead, so a little tricky getting in & out with short legs.

Well appointed apartment. Large balcony. Aircon great but noisey. Nice pool area and small gym. Fantastic location close to lots of restaurants and the city. Not too far to walk to the strand and ferry 1.5km. Would stay again.

Washing machine great but the dryer cycle useless and terrible for the environment! 2hrs 30 on dry mode for 3 towels and a few socks still wasn’t dry! Wash cycle was good though and drying rack handy to dry the clothes. Not ideal for young family though as kids on sofa bed disturbed if bedroom light or TV on in the bedroom, thin glass sliding door between bedroom and living area only. Ok if parents in bed same time as kids!!
