Posada del Dragón Boutique Hotel

The staff (Anna & Ana as well as Damian) were very helpful and nice. The location was second to none. The hotel certainly has a charm to it and is indeed very neat and clean.

I wouldn't call these complaints as we knew these while booking. I am writing this more to help those reading this review. Due to the location, age of the building and space restrictions, the rooms can be a bit crammed and there is no wardrobe or sufficient place to unpack. There was no kettle or coffee machine, comforts to which travelers are so accustomed to nowadays that we expect as default. The bathroom's size means it is near impossible to keep the floor dry. This is more than compensated by the location, charm of the hotel and the friendly staff though.

Inner Rooms have no windows

You cannot beat the location, the attentive front desk (in person and communication ahead of time), and the amazing breakfast buffet (with a served hot plate too). The look and feel is definitely cool.

I was very surprised to find my main floor room SO CLOSE to the busy, inner courtyard restaurant. Its noise was a bother at night from patrons and staff. If I come back, would want guarantee of higher floor.

The location of the hotel is fantastic. The street is full of bars and restaurants. Very close to the Plaza Mayor too. Personnel was very helpful and friendly. Every request out of the normal was accomplished with always a nice smile.

The room temperature was difficult to adjust as the central air conditioning system was either shut down or not functioning. So the first nights it was very warm in our room. No possibility to open the windows. After informing the reception it looked like something happened since the room temperature become more comfortable during the last night.

Great location, nice connected bar, friendly helpful staff, late checkout. Nice toiletries provided. Decent aircon. Nice little balcony with lovely views of buildings and street.

The floor in the bedroom is set up so it can handle getting wet. There is not exactly a bathroom as such, more like attached toilet and shower, and sink in the bedroom. It was alright but some might not like it. It must get ridiculously hot because there is only a single sheet on the bed. I found it a bit weird and was cold in the night, but husband loved it, and I’ve no doubt they would’ve provided something else if I’d asked.

When I last stayed at this hotel in 2018 I had a room right at the front of the building, with a balcony overlooking the street. This time I was at the back, so it was much quieter; I wasn't woken up at 2.00m am by the dustbin men doing their rounds! There was plenty of space for a solo traveller. as in 2018, I also had an en suite modern shower room. The hotel is close to all the main tourist areas in west Madrid; it is located 5 minutes' walk from the Plaza Mayor and 10 minutes away from the royal palace and the cathedral. There are several restaurants and bars close by for all tastes and budgets. Breakfast was served in the ground floor restaurant. It was great-with the usual mix of eggs and bacon, croissants, fruit, yoghurt et etc.

The room was amazing, comfortable bed and the shower was really good. The location is just at the center of Madrid with metros nearby and just a walking distance from the major store/markets street. Daniela was very welcoming with her sympathy and kindness! It's a quiet place with unique traces of vintage blended with modern designs. Perfect for couples.

Unfortunately, the restaurant did not meet our expectations. The menu had no prices on it and we were surprised with the price at the end. We ordered one entrance and two courses that were really small and the price big. The food was really tasty but felt they should be called tapas and not main courses.

Location is brilliant, especially as our son lives in the next road. The shutters did a great job at eliminating noise from the street.

I would have expected a four-star hotel to have a coffee machine in the room. Also we ate dinner in the dining room once (three of us, as we had our son with us that evening) and the three meals came at different times. Even though my husband and I chose the same food, I had finished mine before his arrived. It just seemed rather odd.

Excellent location, in the heart of the la Latina area famous for its tapas bars. Only a couple of minutes walk from Plaza Mayor. Room was great, fridge and safe box and clarins toiletries provided with no extra charge.

As the hotel is right on the main street through the tapas region it can be a little noisy at night. The room would definitely benefit from a kettle (this is coming from an avid tea drinker, lol)

The hotels location is fantastic it is within walking distance of all the main attractions. The rooms have great air conditioning needed as it was over 40 degrees on some days and didn’t cool down at night 🥵. The breakfast has a good choice more than enough to set you off for the day. There are plenty of restaurants & tapas bars on the street. 3 Metros and Sol train station are all within ten minute walk. I loved this hotel the staff are friendly and helpful and the building is lovely it’s a protected building.
