Akeah Hotel Gran Vía Adults Only

A very nice hotel with excellent staff. Impressive reception with helpful and positive front desk. The bedroom was clean and interesting with BIG picture windows overlooking the street and a suitably impressive building opposite. Micro balcony. Despite which the room was very quiet. The bed was good and clean. Mini bar with two complimentary cans of Aguila beer. Separate shower and toilet. Both exceptionally clean. Lovely complimentary toiletries and good towels. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice in nice surroundings. Rooftop swimming pool was amazing and just long enough to swim in if no one else in it. Beautifully clean and clear. Pool towels provided. Excellent selection of deck chairs, bean bags, high tables and chairs and a brilliant 360° rooftop view of Madrid. Drinks brought to the roof terrace was wonderful. Coffee machine.

The bedroom was small. Nowhere to put your luggage. The interior designer needs a good kicking talking to ‘cause there was a stupid grill over the bed that was of no value and made it uncomfortable to sit up and was a danger if you sat up quickly! The shower cubicle was made of opaque glass and you were dimly visible whilst showering. Worse was the idiot interior designer made the wall between the shower and the toilet of clear GLASS! So you could sit on the toilet and watch your partner shower or shower watching your partner… sit on the toilet!?! There was a mirror in the middle of the shelving unit that was just always in the way! Too clever for its own good.

Exceptional Hospitality and 5-Star Service! I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and I can't express how impressed I was with the entire experience. The standout feature of my stay was undoubtedly the incredibly hospitable employees. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine friendliness that made me feel right at home. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was memorable. They were not only professional but also incredibly friendly, always ready to assist with any questions or requests I had. Their dedication to making guests feel comfortable and valued truly sets this hotel apart. Cleanliness is another area where this hotel shines. The rooms and common areas were immaculate, which is especially important in today's world. I felt reassured that the hotel took cleanliness and hygiene seriously, which made my stay all the more enjoyable. As for the service, it was nothing short of 5-star. Whether it was the prompt room service, the helpful concierge, or the attentive restaurant staff, every aspect of my stay was marked by excellence. The level of care and attention to detail was truly impressive. In conclusion, I can confidently say that this hotel deserves a solid 5-star rating for its exceptional hospitality, friendly staff, and commitment to cleanliness. The staff are excellent, very nice and helpful with whatever question or issue being solved easily and quickly! We would like to especially mention Jose and Aysun, their customer-centered approach is exceptional! For the level of service, I would rate it as a 4-star hotel for sure, not lower than that. As for other advantages, the hotel is very clean and modern, access to free water bottles is 24/7, welcome drinks at arrival, as well as when we were waiting for our rooms to be cleaned, is a very nice touch as well! The location is very central, next to several metro lines and bus stops, which makes moving around the city very convenient.

The only thing that comes to my mind which could be improved is breakfast options, there are not that many, especially if you are vegetarian or vegan. Other than that, I can't think of anything else!

-Nice breakfast but if included in your room package you do need to ask staff for hot breakfast, as they don’t come over to ask you only we seen other people ordering -Friendly staff very helpful 24/7 -Comfy bed and quiet area so get a nice sleep -Complimentary sweets on reception desk -Quirky modern and colourful, some witty signs and mottos around the hotel -Rooftop with pool nice pool and sun loungers -Location within walking distance to everything, bed was so comfy and the area is away from the noisy hustle and bustle so good nights sleep

-The room was quite compact and small, luckily we made it work with two small suitcases -No kettle in the room -Close the curtains if changing or having shower As the shower is a separate door to bathroom and can see the shadow of person in sliding glass Gluten free options were limited although, we didn’t stay for dinner only breakfast (but did state on the restaurant menu they could offer) Snack bar on rooftop was not open on the day we were there

The hotel is brand new, everything is fresh and clean. staff were lovely and very attentive it’s also in a great location.

Rooms are quite small but big enough for a city centre stay. has everything you need.

The location is just unbeatable - it’s so central. The hotel is very funky and vibrantly decorated and though the rooms are on the smaller side, they’re really modern and I think perfect for a couple. It would be an idea hotel for someone with hand luggage due to the size. The hotel staff were next level friendly. Front desk were so happy and friendly and always so helpful. The restaurant staff day and night were amazing. The food and drink is SO cheap too and good quality!

The wifi didn’t work at all. They said there was a problem property wide when we reported it but there didn’t seem to be any rush to fix it (it only got SORT of fixed on our last night and even then it wasn’t great and dropped out quite a lot).

What a hotel! Great decor, beautiful roof top pool and bar, amazing restaurant and a best location to explore Madrid from! The staff were super helpful and friendly, the hotel was clean and high quality everywhere with everything you need for the perfect stay, from towels for the pool, to coffee pods in the room and smoothies on reception to start your day with. We'll definitely be staying again. The pool is warm and has great views over Madrid with a cocktail in hand. Great metro links right outside, alongside shops and cafes so you can grab everything you need. There's nothing generic or boring about this place!

The bathroom has frosted glass into the bedroom which was completely find for us as a couple but as friends/family you could end up seeing a bit more of each other than you like. Our only issue was the pool closing at 7pm felt very early, 8:30-9pm would have been great to enjoy the last sunshine of the day.

Location, near to everything basically. Food at the restaurant was fabulous (the daily menu)

The only thing that disappointed me was about the cocktail, we paid 13€ for a mojito and the girl she was using lime instead of use mint and also using brown sugar that make no sense about mojito. And I asked her what was she doing and she said mojito, and then I mentioned about the mint, and she said that she didn’t have mint but she continued in preparing it, so I ask her if she could prepare another cocktail and she said to go to the restaurant bar and ask there.

Hotel is in a great location. About 5-10mins walk from Gran Via near McDonalds and some of the main theatres. Metro stop right outside but we did not need this as we felt everything was walkable from the hotel. 1km from Plaza Mayor and just over 2km from Parque el Retiro. We got an Uber from the Airport to the hotel which cost us about €20-35 depending on the time of day (we flew in late). Staff are very friendly on reception with good knowledge of languages (we are English speakers). The bar staff were also friendly but did not speak English, so for us communication was hard, but you can't blame the staff for our lack of their local language. Upon arrival to our hotel, as it was a special occasion for us, the staff had left balloons and a welcome card in our room which was a lovely touch! The hotel rooms were always clean and fresh towels were provided each day. Nespresso coffee machine provided in the room with a safe and mini fridge. The room also had a TV which had Netflix that we could log into for relaxation in the evenings. Rooftop pool was heated and had lovely views. You could bring drinks up from the bar downstairs if you so wished to enjoy on the roof. The pool was open from 10:00 - 19:30 when we stayed.

The rooms are small enough but this is to be expected in a city. Drinks in the hotel bar were expensive enough. We paid €12 for a single shot whiskey and coke. We didn't try the food in the restaurant as the menu looked to be a bit expensive for our budget. 3 pillows each on the bed - one standard pillow, one giant cushion, and one tiny throw cushion - I think it would have benefitted better to get rid of the giant cushion and put in another standard pillow (but this is just my preference, some may disagree, and it was fine to sleep on for 5 nights).

- Pool area was amazing to have. Could explore in the morning and spend the afternoon by the pool - Free pool towels - rooms Nicky decorated - Staff very accommodating with dinner suggestions, spare cups, towels etc

- Woke to a 7am wake up call which wasn’t for us. Staff rang the wrong room - Bed was just made rather than cleaned (there was a small spot of makeup I got on a pillow on the first night and it was there until we left) - Need more staff in bar area for breakfast and someone to tidy pool area - Music at the pool could quieter, it’s meant to just be background music
