Lavender Manor Guest Lodge

Beautiful spacious room and huge windowed lounge all to ourselves. All the positive reviews online were true. Genial helpful staff, good breakfast, great views. Huge perfect beach, dramatic waves, other beaches via the cliff path within a few minutes walk. Good food at the nearby beach restaurant.

On two hot nights we had to keep the windows open for ventilation, and then the mosquitos bothered us. This was manageable with the repellent and flyspray provided, and the bites were mild, but still a nuisance. For most of our 10 day stay in March the weather was cool, so we could shut the windows at night, but I'd be doubtful about staying there in hot weather. I would have liked flyscreens on the windows, but maybe that would be too unsightly. There were were unaired sheets on one occasion, but I think that this must have been an oversight at the laundry and not the fault of the hotel.

Hostess, location, every space at the guesthouse was lovely, the bar, the breakfast, the service. I took my friends for a night, to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was such a pleasant experience given that all my friends, despite being over 30 - were feeling quite festive but our host was so lovely, understanding and really made us feel good. We all loved our rooms and the facilities, as well as the breakfast. Our host also advised us on a lovely restaurant - Dutchies - which is a short walk away so that was a winner too! 100% would recommend.

We stayed in the family unit which was super convenient. Nicely sized 2 bedrooms with a small living area - very comfortable. From the viewing room you can enjoy beautiful views and we saw a couple of whales (though from afar) so very nice. The cliff path is about 2 minutes walk from the lodge and the beach is about 5 minutes away. Great local restaurant around the corner as well!

Nothing major. I didn't realise (my bad) the lodge is not centrally located - though it is less than 10 minutes' drive from Old Harbour. We found it perfectly safe to drive back in the evening (Hermanus as a whole felt very safe) but we can appreciate not everyone will feel like that.

- The place was very clean - It was very close to beach - We received complementary water (both still and sparkling) - The breakfast was delicious - We were able to spot whales from the roof top :) - The staff was very friendly and nice to us In total an absolutely recommendable place!

- The entrance to the parking lot is very narrow. You need to pay attention while entering. We scratched our car on a metal thing while entering unfortunately…

The host is very welcoming. Well maintained and clean on a safe street. The room is decorated in European style. Feel warn and homey, Plenty of parking. A bit further away from the town center but easy to drive or call Uber with 5-10 min ride. Close to beach walk. Breakfast is fabulous!

If I would have one minor suggestion, not negative at all. The bath room has a higher step gap easy to miss and tip. Recommend to tape a yellow sign to remind the guests. Otherwise, its very comfortable bathroom

it was our second stay in this hotel after 2023 and the hotel is still fantastic very near from grotto beach in hermanus the staff and managers are also very friendly. rooms are big and very clan and the breakfast is also very good we will be back

nothing the only thing is that contary to 2023 we had no climatisation in our room but it was bearable otherwise it was perfect

Great hosts, safe and secure neighbourhood, perfect for beach and within easy walking distance. Fabulous restaurant nearby and actually on the beach. Clean and comfortable room close to the wonderful town of Humanus. Great breakfasts. Really nice and friendly atmosphere. A MUST STAY!!

Can't fault this guest house as it provides everything you need for a great longer stay.

Our room was one of the recently upgraded rooms and was a pleasure to be in.Well decorated and lovely views Breakfast was really good and hosts super friendly Easy access to the main beaches and great walking close to the footpath

Lodge recently bought and areas not yet upgraded a bit tired but plans are afoot to complete upgrading complete lodge during the current year (during low season) Pool really just a splash pool but adequate to dip in. Rest was amazing and would recommend highly

An exceptional guest house. Our room was stunning with fabulous view of the mountain and super comfortable. The breakfast was also delicious. The whole ambience and decor of the guesthouse is beautiful. Would definitely go back if visiting that area.

Lovely and extremely spacious room with beautiful furnishings. Very clean, well equipped and serviced daily. The bed was super comfortable and the linen of excellent quality. The same goes for the towels. Nice hot shower and bath. We loved the luxury of the underfloor heating. Our room had a well stocked minibar, wine glasses and complimentary mineral water, milk, tea and coffee making facilities and rusks. The chocolates on our pillows was a nice touch. We were spoilt for choice with the absolutely delicious, generous breakfast. Marelise and Kobus are wonderful hosts. They are so warm, friendly and helpful. We had a great, relaxing stay at Lavendor Manor and hope to return soon.
