Hermanus Beachfront Lodge

The property was a little further out of town than we expected, but it was just lovely. Tito greeted us with a friendly welcome and our room (5) was on the first level next to the lounge area and breakfast room. It had a wonderful view, was bright and airy, comfortable bed, small kitchen area with microwave and fridge and there was a door to close off that area from the bedroom. The shower room was good and the extra small bedroom was great for our luggage. The breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. Tito who seems to work 24/7 and his staff really looked after us. The beach was a few steps down from the garden and we enjoyed walking on the coastal path. There were a couple of restaurants nearby which were good. Everything was excellent and we would highly recommend a stay here.

Spacious apartment with lovely balcony. Air conditioned and sea front location. Beach was literally just across the car park. Breakfast was provided and was good if a little limited in choice. Security was good and the location seemed safe. Service was good with daily change of bedding etc Strange system of having a shared refrigerator however it did work and we left several bottles of wine there without any problems. Nice relaxed atmosphere and very quiet which we liked.

This apartment had no cooking utensils so it was not possible to prepare one's own food which is not what we expect when booking an apartment. We asked for a bread knife and another sharp knife. The lodge is owned by a hotel group and needs to decide if this is self-catering accommodation or a hotel. We prefer to have our own cooking facilities so this was a negative for us. Entrance to our apartment was through double doors which did not appear very solid although we had no issues.

Amazing location, right on Voelklip beach so the view was wonderful, watching and listening to the sea rolling in. Every morning, breakfast was simple but delicious - lovely fruit and yoghurt bowl, then a delicious cooked breakfast (if you wanted it). Tito and his team were great, and made our stay very special. We will be recommending the Hermanus Beachfront Lodge to our family and friends.

There was nothing within the control of Tito and his team that we did not like. Totally out of their control was the daily electricity load shedding, but there were plenty of torches provided for when this occurred.

Any arrangements made were well handled

Small thing - I am a fussy tea drinker. We are used to buying fresh milk ourselves (even if extra and 'long life' milk only is provided at BnBs), so we don't mind if the team just says 'no' when I ask if fresh milk is provided (its not the same as box milk just kept in the fridge). We know the difference and bought it anyway so we can enjoy our tea the way we like :). Probably a small misunderstanding, but minor in the whole pleasant experience!

Amazing location right on the best beach and lovely Tito who runs this boutique guest house lent us surf boards so great fun too! Breakfast very nice and views onto beach spectacular. Lovely 7km walk along immaculate and very safe cliff path to Hermanus. Supper out at Dickies was easy walk and delicious. The Hopside Down cafe does good pizzas and other easy food for lunch. 10/10 place to stay!

I loved the friendly, home-like atmosphere. The location right on the beach was sensational. Above all, the staff definitely were brilliant. They were extremely pleasant and helpful. Particularly impressive were the breakfasts. We would arrive to a beautifully set table and the food was brilliant. Fresh fruit and yoghurt was so superior to that provided in the smorgasbord breakfasts provided by big hotels. Then there were the superbly cooked a la carte hot dishes. It was a great start to the day.

Tito‘s Omelettes are the best ever eaten! Thanks Tito! Great and thought through service. very close by the sea - easy for a swim before breakfast. Towels available at the reception. we also liked the welcome drink at our lovely room with sea view, overlooking the bay over to Hermanus. the board walk along the beach starts riggt in front of the hotel. sunsets are also great to be watched from the balkony.

the bed seemed a bit too hard - but this depends on every person individually.

We stayed for the third time at Hermanus Beachfront Lodge. Outstanding location, just on the beach, can enjoy fantastic sea view and sunsets from the balcony in the room. It is a quite part of Hermanus, but lots of restaurants/shops are just 5-10 min drive away. Rooms are specious and comfortable. Breakfast delicious. Staff is very professional and friendly. Our special thanks to Nomsa for all her efforts to make our stay memorable and so enjoyable. She is a real asset for the business.

Breakfast became a bit skimpy. I would recommend to add a small cheese/cold meats plater to the menu choices, which was a part of buffet before covid-19.

Tito and the staff made you feel very welcome from the first moment and onwards. The service is personal and could not ask for more. The view from the room (no 1), overlooking the beach/sea and hearing the waves rolling in, was astonishing. There are a nice walking/running track along the sea. Thank you Tito for a wonderful two days stay.

We really liked our room and the view, which was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable. the entire Lodge was very clean and nicely designed. Tito made sure we had all the information we needed so we could come and go as we please, and we liked that there's an honor-system mini bar located next to the rooms. We had a little kitchenette in our room which we put to good use, and breakfast was good and filling.

The shower is outdated and feels more like a dormitory shower rather than a hotel.
