House on Westcliff

Personal contact and very friendly staff. Very nice place close to new harbour from where Whale watching tours depart ( approx 7 min walk; 2 min by car) and close to biodiversity board walk with splendid views over tje ocean..also just 5 min with car to city centre. Very nice neighbourhood and safe feeling. Very nice decorated lounge and splendid breakfast. Parking lot for 6 cars on property so car is always protected. Recommendable place !

Loadshedding struck us when charging cellulars.

Friendly and helpful host, nearby to the port for whale watching cruises and restaurants and nearby an entrance/start of the cliff walk path. During load shedding all electricity is off, but lights on batteries are provided. The breakfast was really nice and enough for us. We liked our first stay, so on our way back to Cape Town some weeks later we stayed here again for a couple of nights. The host had kept a bag we forgot the first time and returned it to us the second time. The WiFi was ok (but didn’t work during load shedding). Our 3-year old son slept with us in our bed, this is allowed, space for an extra bed is not available. Our son loved the dog and cat of the host.

During load shedding there is no electricity, but the host told us she would invest in solar panels, a battery and solar heating for the swimming pool in the near future. This would be a very comfortable improvement to the accommodation!

A fabulous guest house. Warm welcome from Rene and Bobby the dog. The room was great and spacious with everything we needed. Load shedding didn’t affect us as they had a back up system in place. Breakfast was very good. The salt water pool was refreshing. The gardens were beautiful. A few steps from the cliff path and the quayside seafood cabin

Perhaps the wifi in one of our rooms could have been better but there was always connection in the lounge.

Rene is a great host. She took care of us very well and gave excellent tips to explore the region. Our kids loved Bobby, the dachshund too. Excellent Breakfast. The rooms are clean, spacious. The showers and WiFi worked great. We were lucky with the whale sightings too as the weather turned rough from the evening before we left! All in all a great stay.

Nothing at all.

Breakfast was great, with everything very fresh. The gardens were a lovely place to sit and enjoy a drink in the afternoons. Private, secure car parking was provided on site. Very good internet speed and access… and NO load shedding!!!! Rooms were very secure.

The water in the shower didn’t drain which meant we stood in 2cm of water when showering. Towels could have been a bit more ‘luxurious’ and the coffee provided in room was terrible.

Very nice small hotel a stone's throw from the ocean. A cozy bedroom with a comfortable bed, a very tasty breakfast with a choice of menus, a charming hostess who advised us where to watch whales from the shore. The town itself is nice and safe, with good restaurants and bars. I would be happy to come again, for a longer stay.

WE celebrated our 35th Anniversary and the Manager on duty was kind enough to leave us a beautiful arrangement of little flowers with an Anniversary welcome card, which we appreciated very much! The room was neat and aired which was very welcome. The breakfast was excellent and even though what we had , was not on the menu, they prepared it anyway for us... Because we wanted to make the breakfast really special because of our celebration, we had a bottle of champaign with us, and the gentleman on duty, even tought me a lesson/trick in opening it with the blunt side of a big knife...which was quite special as it was my 1st time doing that!! Thanks to the Management for a absolute beautiful and memorable stay!! God bless!

There was not any to dislike! Everything was up to our expectations...

The house is beautiful and the rooms were spacious, clean and with a great bathroom. Breakfast was delicious. The host was very welcoming and friendly and made our stay fantastic even if it was just one night. She helped us with suggestions for dinner and our plans in the morning. We would have loved to stay longer and hope to return some day!

Linda and her staff are very friendly and professional. Our stay was amazing. We missed breakfast on the second day, but the one we had on the first day was amazing with regular refills of coffee and juice. I would highly recommend staying at this location.

The place looks beautiful and the garden is wonderful with plenty places to sit and relax. It is a 6 minute walk from teh harbour where the whale watching boats depart from. Also 2 minutes from the cliff walking path with awesome views. Nice breakfast and comfortable beds
