La Fontaine Guest House Hermanus

I was able to enjoy an incredibly good time and I am very grateful for that! The staff is very friendly and accommodating, everything is clean, beautifully decorated, with great attention to detail. The view is fantastic, the location of the hotel is terrific! I will definitely and very much like to come back! Thank you very much for the wonderful holiday! 😍☺️

I celebraMy room has its colonial charm! I love the French doors that open up to the garden. I was able to have a nice quiet time and do what I enjoy most, which is reading. My room was spacious, and the living room was a plus. Natasha was very accommodating and responsive. She provided me with the utensils that I needed to enjoy my night. I hope that the staff will maintain the cleanliness and beauty of the hotel, especially the sofas and curtains. I intend to recommend this place to my international friends who visit me often. Also, I love breakfast and have been to many hotels, but this one has a great variety. I also appreciate the option to order additional items like omelettes. It's just a 5 to 10 minute walk to the waterfront, and there are several restaurants within walking distance. The sitting area across the road offers an amazing view. I also love the heated swimming pool! I had a great time! Thank you, La Fountaine and staff!

The breakfast was excellent and all the staff very friendly. The bed was very good with a firm mattress which would suit most people . We were given a topper to soften the mattress a bit as i have some arthritis. It was only ten minutes walk to Gearings point and the restaurants nearby. We were given very good advice about boat trips and restaurants by the management. The cliff top walking is fabulous and just across the road from La Fontaine.

The car park at the back of La Fontaine was being used by workmen to saw wood to renovate the house next door so we had little quiet time in the small garden at the back which we could access straight from our room Fortunately I believe this work is now complete.

I recently stayed at this beautiful bed and breakfast with stunning sea views. The three words that come to mind when I think of this place are location, location, and location. The decor is tasteful and Natasha, the host, made me feel right at home. She welcomed me warmly and I loved everything about my room. The balcony offered breathtaking views of the sea and I even joked that I didn't need to go anywhere else - I could have spent the entire time on the balcony. The room was also very clean and comfortable, with power points conveniently located. Natasha helped me find the parking lot and gave me great advice on where to go for drinks and dinner. The breakfast was lovely and had everything I needed, and the staff were also very friendly. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and it ticked all the boxes for me.

There is nothing I didn't like. The only regret I have is that I booked 1 day instead of the entire weekend, if not longer.

Charming B&B and surpurb location for whale watching. It is located in 19 century dutch style house with lovely and very homey interior. Rooms are well set up and provide all amenities. The location is stunning - just acoss the road from the ocean and beautiful bay. We were there in whale season and enjoyed watching them from the terrace. Natasha (B&B manager) is very welcoming and helpful with any needs Breakfasts are nice but a little bit limittd to our taste. A really top notch place to be for truely homey feeling and whale watching

Everything was amazing from check-in until check-out. Greeted by Orline who gave me a complete tour of the guesthouse. She even made the extra effort to bring me takeaway restaurant menus. The manager, Natasha is such a lovely person. I was travelling alone but never once felt alone with her around. The breakfast staff are also very pleasant. The location was perfect. I drove around and don't think there's any place better than this. I saw whales from my balcony every day. Even on days when boat trips were cancelled due to windy conditions. Good breakfast selection. Mini bar has everything you could want. Complimentary port is a nice touch. Bed was too comfy that I almost wanted to stay in most of the time. Looking forward to coming back with my husband.

Fantastic stay at this lovely cosy B&B, Natasha made us at home, went out of her way to help us with all our needs and even booked Whale watching and made a table reservation for us. I loved the views from the breakfast table, over a gorgeous breakfast! The bed was super comfy, the complimentary Port and snacks were a real treat. The location was fantastic with short walk into town, and lovely walks along the beach front. I loved my stay and wish I could have stayed longer! Well done La Fontaine for a brilliant service!

Natasha, the manager was so incredibly friendly and helpful. I would say she went above and beyond. Booked all of our trips and restaurants. The guest house itself was in a great location and whilst compact and bijou was well laid out. On reflection we should have booked two rooms as it was quite cozy - but that’s a personal preference rather than a criticism of the hotel

Small niggle but we would have liked mugs rather than cups - but we’re British, what can you expect

Perfect location for restaurants and shopping as well as safe parking and easy road access to the beautiful surrounding areas.. Natasha, Devon and their staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Comfortable room with plenty of storage space. Thoroughly enjoyed our 2-week stay and would recommend La Fontaine to anyone visiting Hermanus. Oh, and terrific breakfasts!

The location was fantastic. Staff welcoming and helpful. The bed, crisp white linen, and comfortable pillows were a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was very good, especially the bacon, although would have preferred plunger coffee.

The smell. Like it had just been cleaned with Jik. Whilst I appreciate the fact that it was clean, the smell lingered. They need to look at infusing a welcoming scent. Their amenities also smelt clinical, not a pleasant smell of body wash or body cream.
