Hôtel Apollinaire Nice

An excellent hotel, in the best location! Very quiet and elegant area. Everything is perfectly functional and impeccably clean! Nice Ville (train station) is a 15-minute walk away and the old city at 7 minutes. The main avenue with the great shopping area is at few minutes (also the Nicetoile - a mall and Galeries Lafayette). Our twin room was large and equipped with everything you need, excellent air conditioning, large enough bathroom with a bathtub, the bed was very comfortable with very good quality linen. The cleanliness is impeccable, the towels are changed daily, also the set of cosmetics (soap, shampoo, hair conditioner, shower gel and body lotion) is provided in a proper quantity avoiding their waste but without depriving yourself of the necessary. Anyway, if you ask, you will receive. A bottle of water is offered every day to each guest, even the tap water is drinkable and very good. Breakfast is varied enough and very good, the coffee machine was great, with a lot of options! Thank Jerry (I hope I wrote correctly your name), for your promptness and smile! All the people at the reception are very nice, always smiling and extremely kind and attentive, friendly and helpful. At request, they sent me an iron and ironing board. Everyone is very prompt and helpful, with professionalism and kindness. Specially thanks to Lorenzo and Edmir! We warmly recommend this hotel !

I have nothing to complain about.

Great hotel, presumably recently refurbished as all the furnishings were in good condition, well-maintained and housekeeping did a good job of refreshing bathroom towels and toiletries. Good sized bedrooms, plenty of wardrobe hanging space, fridge (handy wee shop over the road to top up with beers/wine) and of course a safe! Lovely open lounge, breakfast room and outdoor terrace available, with plenty of parasols to ensure a comfortable Al-fresco breakfast. Breakfast choice was a typical continental but decent range including cold meats/ cheese and bacon/scrambled eggs with omelette on request. All open spaces were bright and corridor carpets clean. This is a very welcoming hotel with helpful, courteous staff at reception, breakfast and servicing rooms. Situated very close (3 mins) to Durandy Tram station which is directly linked to the airport in 20/25 mins. 10/15 mins walk to the main Nice Train station for direct trains to coastal route to Monte Carlo (stop at Eze beach - narrow and pebbly but clean or Ville-Franche for a beach club with chargeable daybeds and paddle boards). Hotel is very close - 10 mins walk through the lively, busy old town to Promenade des Anglais for your evening stroll to people watch. But if that’s too busy there are plenty of good quality restaurants closer to the hotel, away from the hustle and bustle of the old town. Hotel Apollinaire was a great find - close enough to everything but not on top of the action!

The lift was slow and could not cope with 4 people with luggage!! Aside of that there was nothing to complain about. I’d stay here again. I’d love to return. Nice and the hotel exceeded my expectations.

Stayed at this hotel 2 nights. Freshly renovated, clean, and staff is very nice. Position is quite handy and close to tram stop. Breakfast is also very good, as well as the SPA area.

Rooms would need coat hooks at entrance area and maybe a fixed shower head, but these are minor notes and on the overall I was very happy with the choice.

The location is excellent. The entrance and the interior are impressive.

When I arrived I was informed that they had had a flood in the newly refurbished hotel and were unable to accommodate me. They tried to help by booking me into another hotel that was inferior to the Apollinaire hotel. They didn't offer me transport to the new hotel, but gave me a map and said it is nearby. It took me over 10min to find the new hotel in intense heat. Everyone was polite but due to my tiredness, I didn't do the correct thing and check where they were going to locate me. It was so disappointing to be taken from a newly refurbished modern hotel in a beautiful boulevard location to a shabby hotel in central Nice.

The bathroom was very spacious. Interior was simple but very functional and the room was very clean. Housekeeping did a good job of tidying every day and we were never disturbed. The air conditioning works very well to keep your room cool and the rooms are quite during the night. The staff is very friendly and polite! The location allows you walk to old town and beach or you can conveniently take public transport. The TV supports casting and the WiFi works very well.

The pillows aren't the most comfy. The outside window shutter in our rooms couldn't be closed properly. We complained and the hotel sent someone to check but they couldn't fix the problem immediately.

The staff were excellent, all really nice, helpful people who can't do enough for you. I like the bar as well, a good variety of drinks particularly local beers from the region. Room service is worth trying if you've had a long day,

The bathroom is too small, be careful of the shower door which is sharp and left me with a nasty bruise. More wardrobe space would be handy if you're staying for longer than 2 nights, its probably worth splashing out on a bigger room if you are. The balcony is nice, especially after the sun has passed around the hotel as it can get hot out there.

central location, great breakfast, helpful staff

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Apollinaire. The staff were super accommodating. The hotel is incredibly modern with USB sockets negating the need for a travel adaptor. We had requested a shower and this request was met. You can book the Wellness Room for an hour during your stay at no additional cost which I would highly recommend. Great location for those looking to travel via train into Monaco, Cannes and the likes. Short walk to the Promenade des Anglais. The tram is very handy when travelling from the airport.

Location is excellent. We could walk to the shops, Nice-Ville train station and the promenade from the hotel. We even walked up Castle hill and to the old town. Our room was a king suite and we had 2 bedroom and 2 bathrooms. It was room 419 and it was very clean, modern and spacious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is okay. I think that’s the only thing they could improve on. (Nicer sausages and offer bacon too, everyday, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms). Upgrade of the breakfast would be the icing on the cake.

Breakfast needs a bit of improvement. It is okay.

1. The location is excellent. Near shopping and restaurants, the Coulée verte, the Old Nice, Cimiez, etc. 2. The lobby, the bar, and the breakfast rooms are clean, comfortable, and cozy. 3. Breakfast was plentiful with a variety of hot and cold dishes, baskets of croissants, baguettes, beignets, pain au chocolat, platters of meats, cheese, and bowls full of marmalades, fruits, nuts, and cereals. 4. The entire staff (receptionists, barman, breakfast staff, maids...) was OUTSTANDING. 5. The air conditioning worked beautifully. 6. The beds in the room were comfortable, and as soon as I requested them, the maid brought extra pillows, an iron, and an ironing board. 7. The reading lights were great.

In the bedroom: 1. The tub in the bathroom was very high, and one had to hold to the towel racks to not slip. 2. The hanging bar in the closet should be set higher so that dresses fit neatly, and the shelves on the top were too high for storing clothes. There was no chest of drawers. 3. There was no full-length mirror.
