Kalev Spa Hotel & Waterpark

Easy access from Port, tram or Old Town. Reception dealt with check in / out quickly. Room clean, tidy and spacious for 5 nights. Bed very comfortsble with a single duvet each (UK has double but prefer this concept). Excellent breakfast choice with plenty of hot and cold foods plus many drinks. Slides at Spa area, sauna, steam room and hot tubs style areas were lovely. Good info from staff on local things to see and do. 10 minutes walk to Old Town, 15 to the port, 10 to the tram for the airport.

Walking from the tram at Viru, we came to the Spa part of the hotel which has its entrance at the opposite end to the Hotel reception. There was no signs to point you to the hotel but we worked it out quickly. Our room was above reception and we could hear the service behicles loading laundry. Ensure you are above floor 1 or away from rooms 101-104. Although there was a huge 50m pool, it was largely being used for non guest events (school, clubs and had 2 lanes for swimming circuits - no fun pool. Many using cameras and phones constantly in spa, sauna etc which we found strange as it is not a UK thing. Room has tea/coffee facilities but coffee comes pre mixed with dry milk. Wanted black coffee.

The hotel met my expectations. It is very well located, very easy to reach from the harbour (15 minutes walk) and it is well connected to the airport too (tram n. 4 takes you directly from the hotel to the airport). The room was good size and clean. Beds were very comfy. The hotel restaurant offers a very international breakfast . The access to the water park and the swimming pool is definitely a strong point for this hotel.

The Wi-Fi connection in your room (floor 4) was poor and the breakfast did not provide hot milk. When asked, some of the staff were not happy with the request of warming up milk and it seemed a big problem to do so, despite they did it at the end. I found it srange for a 4 stars hotel not to provide hot milk for breakfast since it provides many other hot beverages. I would also not recommend the spa saloon. Despite showing a big choice of body massages, in reality, only three types were available. I chose the classic massage which I could not adapt to my needs. Unfortunately the masseuse did not speak English so it was difficult to communicate with her. Honestly, I received much better massages in other places.

The hotel is very well located, at the edge of the old town and close to the port. The room was spacious enough, with a balcony. View wasn't very special but ok. The bathroom was large enough for a person to move inside, ckean and functional. Shower water pressure could be a bit more but worked well. The breakfast buffet was amazing, with many different choices. Pool access was easy, and it was usually not crowded.

Unfortunately the relax pool was closed (without being announced previously) while I was there, but fortunately they managed to reopen it earlier than scheduled. Also the lifts are not very well programmed (you may catch a lift going down even if you want to go up) - but that's a first world problem. The room could also have been cleaned a bit better - there was still a spiderweb hanging from the smoke alarm.

The unlimited access to waterpark was a huge plus with kids. For us, the water park was the reason to book this hotel. The breakfast was very good and there was plenty of options for both kids and adults. The location of the hotel is rather perfect - within walking distance from the old town, restaurants, shopping etc.

The room was nothing special, although clean. We had booked a room for 2 adults & 2 kids, yet we only had two bathrobes. With just a couple of changes (bathrobes for everybody, bigger bath towels...) the overall experience would have been a lot better!

The location is great for dashing in and out of the Old Town, centrally located, well connected by public transport.

While the location is great most of the time, it can be a bit noisy during the weekend, as many party people will pass by after a night out in Old Town. My least favorite part is the breakfast area, having the coffee machine pretty much at a crossing where everyone has to pass is pretty annoying. But once you get to have coffee, the coffee is very good :-)

the staff all spoke English, and very helpful, I stayed there for 28 days, well worth what I paid, not expensive for a great hotel like this one, right location in Tallinn where old town meets new town great things to do and see beach not far from hotel, the hotel laundry service was great back same day if put in early or next day delivered to your room. the restaurant food is v good, across the road you have The Scotland Yard bar where food is very good and much cheaper

We really enjoyed our stay. The location was great, right at the edge of old town and close to the harbor. We had two rooms, the family room was really spacious while the other room had an amazing view with a balcony. The breakfast was great and we really enjoyed the spa.

Can't think of anything else except that on first day only one elevator was working so it took forever to go up and down. We couldn't see any stairs we could take instead.

The location was perfect and the facilities excellent . We had an amazing view of the old town from our room. Great breakfast. The spa was fantastic. The beauty treatments (massage and eye treatment) were amazing

It would have been good to be able to control the room temperature more easily The staff was nice, polite and helpful but could have been a bit more openly friendly/ welcoming (but this might be a cultural difference?)

spa was fantastic, from view to what is on option and juice bar. room and bath where great! I left too early, so did not got to enjoy the breakfast. I had left my jacket and hotel replied super quickly and help locating it as well as handle back to me (as stopped by hotel in taxi on the way to airport). I was running to the train up further in Estonia and staff was beyond helpful in reception and super quick as time was of the essence. over-all fantastic experience and shall most definitely would like to be back.

We absolutely loved our stay at Kalev Spa Hotel! The rooms were very tidy and beds comfortable: The location is amazing, right by the old town, so every attraction is just a walk away. We really enjoyed access to the pool which is huge and the sauna oasis, for which you have to pay extra, was also a nice addition. Staff was super friendly and the breakfasts had nice selection. For sure gonna stay there when visiting Tallin again!
