Meriton Old Town Garden Hotel

Perfect location in the downtown Old Town core. Walking distance to all Sites you could think of going. Restaurant was excellent, we went there for dinner. Breakfast buffet was delicious with huge variety. Walking distance to countless other restaurants cafes and bars. Room was quiet. Bed super comfortable. Staff very helpful and accommodating.

Even though there was an elevator once you got on your appropriate floor there were still a couple steps up here a couple steps down there a couple steps up here and several doors to go through. Which made it very awkward when you were pulling large suitcases. Parking was 2 km away which was very inconvenient. They gave you a car permit but still it was not obvious what to do in the small parking lot behind some buildings.

Receptionists all v helpful. Breakfast was great. Location excellent. Room was small but I know that and it was fine.

Strange incident on last night. Was served a red wine by v friendly member of staff at Trofe . Was enjoying the wine outside. Suddenly another person approached and asked me to finish up as she wanted to close. I asked if I could take wine to my room as I was in house. Was told I could tip it into a plastic container.......Not a major problem but this person cost you a 100% score. She was waiting at reception when I subsequently went to retrieve some property from in house safe. I had to wait for her to use safe first. Overall it was strange behaviour for sure and I have no idea what position this person held but her behaviour wasn't a highlight. To clarify this person was not the person who served me wine and was not the receptionist. They were both v friendly.

The house was really beautiful old building. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was perfect in the old town. Bed was good and blackout curtains worked well. No disturbing noise from outside, if the window was closed.

Gluten-free diet could have been a bit better observed. For me it is not necessary to follow the strict hygiene, so I was totally happy to get gluten-free toast when I asked for it and roast it with the same toaster as everyone else. Instead someone with celiac disease would appreciate a dedicated gluten-free toaster machine. The room was hot, because there was no air conditioning and also the soundproofing could have been better. I had a room with a door to the neighbouring room. The door was closed, but still I could hear people speaking in the other room.

The location is awesome. We could walk everywhere by feet. Restaurants, stores and siteseeing are all around. Bus station and train station are near by. A coffee machine, tea kittle and refrigerator were in the room. Bed was very comfortable. Heating was working very well. Enough space for 2 people. Easy and fast check in and out. Very friendly and helpful people at the reception. I recommend this hotel.

Breakfest was ok but there was no normal bread, just a toast bread and white small rolls. Internet could be better especially when sitting outside on the chairs near the reception.

Location is perfect. Not only that it is in the old town but as well it's on the side near the train station, so for those who are planning to arrive by train, this part of the old town is on a 3 minutes walk. Some people complained about the space, I didn't find it problematic at all. Comfortable showers, toilet, bed. Kitchen staff was simply amazing. Tasty warm breakfast. There is a restaurant at the first floor where staff is as well very friendly and polite.

When we checked in the girl in reception was nice and very helpful. She was explaining plenty of things, provided a map and gave several advices. The day when we checked out there was another girl not so eager to help, she was sitting there next to another girl who clearly didn't work there but was just giving company to her and her attitude towards people was negative, like if she was annoyed that the other girl has to do her job attending reception. Such personal romantic same gender shows should stay away from job. The ventilation tube at the bathrooms ceiling was extremely dirty.

The hotel is situated right next to the old town, which gives accessibility to it and to the public transportation as well. It was not only beautifully located, but also the facilities were great, the view as well, the rooms were big and quite and it was within a half an hour by tram from the airport. The staff was also exceptional, very friendly and helpful, meeting and tending to out every need. The breakfast was very filling, with lots of options to chose from, both sweet and savory, and the restaurant had amazing food.

The double bed was made from two single beds and one mattress on top of it, which made it move a lot. Also, under the wardrobes it could have been better cleaned.

This hotel is in a nicely renovated old building. We stayed in two rooms, a double standard for us adults and a small room with a bunk bed for the teens. The rooms are rather compact. Some might say small. There was nowhere to place your luggage except a small area on the floor. If you have more than one piece of luggage, book a larger room. The rooms were clean and cleaned daily. The breakfast was good, there were plenty of options. The location is absolutely brilliant if you like Tallinn’s Old Town. And who wouldn’t? Our rooms faced the inner courtyard and were very peaceful.

The beds weren’t that great, a bit soft for my taste. 1-2 more electric outlets wouldn’t hurt either. There were two free ones though. The car park is a bit far, behind the railway station on Kopli street. It’s about 5-7 mins on foot. Note: the showerheads are rather peculiar. The water can be cut off from the showerhead as well and if you’re not used to that, this might cause some confusion. We called the reception and reported that there’s no water coming from the shower. They called back around 10 mins after and told us that there’s a switch on the showerhead which needs to be turned.

The place was perfect for exploring Tallinn. The hotel itself is very cute and since it's an old building right in the center, it's to be expected that it's small and not the most soundproof. The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was good with a lot of variety. The beds were comfy and the guests quiet so we had a good night's rest and a good breakfast to start the day, which is exactly what we were looking for!

I see many reviews here that the rooms and bathrooms are so small. This is true, but this was not a problem for us as we really only need the room for sleeping and didn't have much luggage. For us there were not really any negatives to this place.

The old building was beautiful, room was huge, bed was good, so was the breakfast. Location in the middle of old town was superb.

Hotel restaurant closed very early, had to find another place to eat. The other night we were there before announced closing time, and it was already closed. We were told that free parking was included, and it was, but the reception was unable to tell us exactly where it was (and it was hard to find because lot of road works were going on).

Very central location, quite good breakfast.

We came late by car and could not find the entrance to the hotel. And the other guests the same. Car parking is quite a bit to walk and not secure one. The receptionist didn't know, how much does it cost to park near the hotel. The room itself was in the attic. The ceiling was so low in the corridor, that we had to bend down, the same in the room. Hotels should follow some standards regarding the height of the room. The breakfast was ok, until we saw the premises of the food preparation and dish washing area :)
