Hestia Hotel Europa

The hotel is well-placed, being in walking distance both of the ferry port and of the old town. SEcure underground parking is provided at an extra fee, but worth it for the peace of mind. The view over the marina was superb!

Some of the trainee staff still are "finding their feet" in terms of customer service, and had a fairly negative response to some requests (e.g., to leave the car in the garage for a few days), but this was quickly resolved by permanent staff.

Breakfast was amazing: plentiful, always fresh and delicious. It is served buffet style in a big room overlooking the sea and the harbour. Our room was spacious and bright, great view and comfortable bed. Soundproofing was also good: although the Porto Franco area around the hotel is undergoing construction, you could not hear anything from the room. The location was also really nice: central and well-connected, only a short walk away from the old town.

The only thing we did not like was that room was not properly cleaned: at our arrival we noticed that the drawers of the bedside tables, for example, were dusty and full of crumbs/dirt.

The location was perfect for we could reach the harbour in 5 minutes. The shopping center is in the neighbourhood (10 seconds). Every sightseeing were approuched easily by public transport. The breakfast included the local specialities (black bread, fishes, sausages, special butter) as well besides the usual continental and english breakfast. The breakfast time is very flexible. The bar and restaurant gave good meal opprtunities for the daily eating. The hotel's supplies are very flexible. The location of the room was without a view of the sea but in return it was ok, quiet and the early bright light did not disturb us relaxing.

There was not any of it.

Very good location obviously, just at the foot of the ferry terminal, except that the area near the port is a now a huge construction site because of the tram installation work and that the old town is almost inaccessible, even by walking! But the hotel has nothing to do with this inconvenience. The hotel itself is pleasant but a little dated, the rooms are comfortable, even if the housekeeping leaves a little to be desired, the breakfast is plentiful and the staff just welcoming.

Generally quite basic services

it’s in a good location for the port, but also a not far away from bars and restaurants. a fair walk away from the centre which we didn’t mind :) the breakfast was very nice with a good range of hot and cold options staff were helpful and welcoming as well

not overly soundproof - we had an argumentative couple in the hallway but to no fault of the hotel

Perfect location close to the city centre as well as to the port for trips to Helsinki. Breakfast was simply great. Sauna for free in the morning makes the stay even more pleasant. I arrived at the hotel early and got the room without no problem, the staff was very helpful.

Unfortunately, there is a huge reconstruction going on nearby the hotel, so I could hear some noise overnight. However, after the works are finished, the district will be even more attractive. The room was slightly worn out but it did not cause any discomfort at all.

The view is amazing! You wake up every morning in awe when looking out the window at the harbor. The location couldn't be better, public transport is nearby, but everything you would want to visit is at walking distance- Kadriorg, the old town, the new town, the train station and much more. The surrounding area is great to explore too. The room is very spacious and cosy. You have a mini-fridge, a private bathroom, closet, TV etc. Everything you would want. The breakfast was one of the best things about the hotel. There is so much choice and variation, everything you would want for breakfast is there. Everything is delicious and very fresh. Really good value for your money! I would definitely recommend everyone visiting Tallinn to stay at this hotel.

the water in the sink drained a bit slow.

The room was spacious. The breakfast was very good with a lot of options. The TV had plenty of channels available and was able to mirror from the smart phone. It is very near to the Terminal D, shopping center and some other restaurants. There is also a small gym opened 24 hours. Overall, I think it was really good value for money.

A little more smile & friendliness from the staffs will be better. I saw 2 kids playing in the gym with the equipment and dumbbells without adult's supervision. I worried that they hurt themselves but I didn't speak their language, so I informed the reception staffs, however I didn't see any action taken. The drainage in the shower room was not working well. The puddle of water took a while to drain, but it did not flood the bathroom, so I didn't complaint. Wifi wasn't stable sometimes.

The experience overall was great, the room was cozy and stylish with a great view to the harbour side. Parking is super convenient with a very big EuroPark located just to the side of the hotel 4€ for 24h (EP42/ Ahtri 3). Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and I believe everyone can find something from the buffet. The room was very quiet during the night, also there was free access to the sauna/ gym. Room included- tv, minibar, blow dryer, safe plus some toiletries.

The bathroom was slowly starting to show its age.

I had a room overlooking the harbor for the major ferries going to Finland, Sweden etc. Breakfast was very good except for the scrambled eggs (no cook to order) which was tasteless mush. Location to Old Town was an easy walk but there was major road reconstruction at the time so it made it more difficult to reach the hotel. There is a shopping center next door with a Rimi grocery store inside for convenient supplies.

While not there to watch TV, the channel selections were inferior with just a few English channels. No CNN for example.
