It was small but comfy, great designer-themed room, serviceable en suite. Good wifi, usb ports etc. Neat little minibar, quiet and good location. Terrific staff/owner. Really liked staying there.

There was a desk chair, but no room for a comfy chair. So the bed was the only option for doing email, reading, making phone calls, etc. Wooden floors meant I could hear heavy footed guests above me. For the price I was surprised the room was not serviced each day. The nice cafe others mentioned in the reviews has not recommended since COVID 19.

The arty decor made the small room more interesting. The bathroom was very clean and modern. The soft light circling the light switches was a help in the dark. The bed, down doona and pillows were a dream! Outside noise was no problem, even though we were close to the road. Security on entry was reassuring. The greatest asset was Corinne who was always charming, helpful and friendly, despite being under pressure. Our request for a room with few stairs was met.

There was minimal natural light, and no sunlight, with the only small window facing onto a driveway and adjacent building. (This may have been due to the requested ground-floor room location). The area didn't feel safe, especially after dark, which is why we only used taxis to go anywhere.

My fiancé and I absolutely adored the room we were given! The bed was incredibly comfortable, the shower was spacious, the amenities in the minibar (though we didn’t have any) were better than other hotels I’ve stayed at! I also work at a hotel myself, and I was very impressed with the upkeep! The outside looked just as cozy as the inside, and it’s clear a lot of attention and thought has been put into the hotel. It has a very calm atmosphere, and a lot of personality in the wall/roof designs and layout of the rooms! Absolutely incredible place, and we will be staying here again! Thank you!

I can’t think of anything that could be changed! The only downside is the lack of view from the window we had (just a brick wall and an alleyway) but that’s hardly an issue! We weren’t there for the view anyway.

I loooove the themed rooms! It’s such a nice little surprise to see which room you get when you open the door. The team there are so incredibly friendly, the rooms are clean, the beds are unbelievably comfy! It’s about a 5 minute walk from Fortitude Valley train station so also super centrally located. Another cool thing that I think people may not notice is that there’s a shelf full of DVD’s and a DVD player in each room with the TV, so if you find yourself spending some time soaking up the atmosphere of your themed room, you can watch a DVD from your comfy bed!

I really can’t fault this property - the only thing I can possibly think of is that it’s not incredibly accessible for people in wheelchairs or that would have issues with climbing a flight of stairs. But if you’re able bodied, love a quirky little themed room with all your basic necessities, then there’s really no downside!

We liked everything. In particular: The thoughtful & high-quality feel of appointments both in-room (bedside reading lamps, large wall-mounted flat-screen TV, rainshower shower head) but also on entrance. It felt like a five-star hotel. Special mention for the great in-house coffeeshop, open from 7 am. And of course the room itself: Very small (strictly for sleeping only) but the full wall decoration of a scene from (in our case) Venice plus the amazing illuminated ceiling (with an on-off light switch!) - see the hotel's website for photos - did the trick of making the room feel much bigger and very comfortable.

There was nothing we did not like. But do your homework RE location. For our stay, perfectly suited & fantastic for staying overnight after a concert (Festival Music Hall) and big night out in the Valley's entertainment district - which is just a five-minute walk from the hotel. Also perfect if you like something different, like a really groovy almost flower-power like / psychedelic 1960's style yet modern & friendly small hotel. And the Brisbane CBD isn't actually that far away, a bus/train or 15-minute walk or so. Try it out if you want to try something new. Highly recommended hotel and we (ex-hippies haha now in our 60's) found this hotel a real find & we will definitely be back next time there's something on in the Valley.

We really enjoyed our room - clearly a lot of work has gone into making this gorgeous old building a fun and comfortable space. We stayed in the Space room and it was great fun to come back from our evening out at The Tivoli and "light up the night" with the roofscape. The photos on their website don't quite do it justice - you need to see it for yourself! I am a stickler for cleanliness and the hotel did well in this area. It is obviously well maintained with great attention to detail in the cleaning department- everything was fresh and smelt good. Location for us was also perfect - we were able to walk into The Valley for dinner and to The Tivoli for our show - perfect 👍

There was only one downside - the shower was impossible. Quite literally either scalding or freezing.

This hotel was quaint, we loved the look of the outside and loved the inside more , when we entered our room and turned on the lights and the ceiling lit up with cherubs , we thought it was so beautiful, lovely fresh new bathroom was an added bonus, the location was great being only a 4min walk from the train station and the hub of Fortitude Valley

The only thing missing was somewhere to sit in our room besides on the bed and one chair ...a balcony would of been perfect but we were aware that there wasnt one and structerly not possible

The beautiful Receptionist went out of her way to help me navigate the valley and I really am grateful 🙏 the Chinese restaurant we went to was amazing and real food and awesome service. The hospitality at the Amelia hotel was 2nd to none an amazing theme clean and cozy room with such a comfortable bed and pillows, I would love to know what brand you use 😴 the location is perfect for walking distance to the tivoli and parking next-door perfect from for people who live in the bush on 150Ac that are not used to city life , thank you 😊

Nothing serious it was meant to be

The photos of rooms are as is, really nice rooms. They have all the bases covered, super comfy bed and pillows. nice bathroom with great shower, Reverse cycle a/c works perfect on warm or cold. Little things that mean a lot to a seasoned traveller, table and chairs, smart TV with youtube and Netflix(I just stayed in more expensive 4 start hotel with no smart TV), a good light above basin to light up your face for shaving or make-up. Great arrangement of coffee, tea with biscuits, fridge stocked with drinks. even an outside area for smoking. Location was also great and near all the action

The smoking area out back was chained off, could not sit with coffee and relax while using smart phone

Wonderful place heritage building kept in the original facade. So it doesn't look like a fancy hotel. Or the glitz and glamour of the Ritz or Hyatt . But once you step inside it is qwaint with a lovely cozy foyer area with an in house kitchen and cafe service . And the staff are above and beyond exceptional and extremely friendly helpful And courteous they do close.reception at 7 pmso it is highly recomended you check in prior to avoid any embarrassment . But if you are checking in later or delayed and running late . Please just call ahead and let them know of the delay and your expected time of arrival and they will be more than happy to assist and allow you to check in on arrival and don't forget your $100 security bond for the mini bar and don't lose your room key it will cost you $50 . Haha think ahead and you will be safe with a trouble free stay ... After check in. You climb an original flight of stairs . Caution. Stairway is not suited for large suitcases. So minimise your luggage. If possible. Otherwise arrange assistance prior to check in with staff . The room I stayed in was lovely . The lighting in the room is exquisite . With a full back lit mural on the ceiling which gives a peaceful ambient light that is calming. When you relax on the bed. . I did find the tv a sufficient but a little small and it would Be better if a larger flat screen. Tv was mounted flat against the wall to allow the room to appear a little larger. But in no was does this discredit the room . The bathroom is well done with a qwaint style of luxury and not over the top with pompous opulence . And serves it purpous quite sufficiently . However the door can be a little awkward to navigate as it opens toward the Lavetry so your required to step into the shower slightly to close the door. . despite this fact there is enough room to swing a cat . And the shower has ample space without feeling clostrophobic.. however.

Ok this is a real downer. . the bloody rain. Was the worse day and a half of down pours that could happen . Apart from that nothing to complain about. So check the weather before you book. Make sure it's going to be happy sunny days. For exploring. And if you do find it raining. Stay in bed grab a movie of the bookshelf in the hallway and have a cozy chill . Loved the Amelia hotel. Clean and fresh .
