Anana Ecological Resort Krabi-SHA Extra Plus

There was nothing not to like.

There was nothing not to like about the property. The only things that was extremely disappointing was that we did a wash service and all our clothes got ruined. After hours of fighting they agreed on paying for our clothes the morning that we left. We came to the desk and there was a small woman crying her eyes out because she needed to pay over 250 euro’s. Apparently the hotel outsourced the washing service and let the small business owner pay for all the damage and they made sure that we saw everything. We eventually choose not to take the money because we can afford to loose it and she couldn’t. The total damage was over 500 euro’s. We hope that the insurance will cover it but this is a very bad look for the hotel. Shame.

Anana was an exceptional place to stay for us. We spent 5 nights there and made friends with 1 other couple and a solo traveler. And we ended up seeing each other frequently after! Our check-in was smooth and we highly recommend renting out a scooter ($9/day) as this would allow you to take regular trips to Ao Nang beach (7 minutes) or the supermarkets without worrying about the shuttle schedule (shuttle leaves to Ao Nang beach once every hour). Not to mention that scooting around is one of the coolest activities we did! It really allows you to discover the area from a different perspective. With that out of the way, Anana is this calm place where you can really take things at your own pace, but it's not too calm that you feel you're alone there, and that's something to like as there's a wonderful vibe at the pool, especially when the sun is setting and everyone's grabbing drinks at the pool bar. If you feel like relaxing in the pool with nothing but the sounds of nature, I recommend taking a dip a little after 6 PM once everyone leaves to prepare for their evening night out. I just sat there for 20 minutes wandering and enjoying the peace, it really is a special feeling. The pool bar closes at 6 PM and the gathering after that happens at the rooftop bar/resto where you can enjoy the sunset. The rooftop is yet another special place in Anana and you can feel an air of enjoyment and peace while you dine with your significant other or continue sipping on those awesome cocktails (highly recommend the pina colada)

Communicating in English was sometimes a bit tough, especially if you're trying to get a food recommendation from the waiter or explaining something a bit complex to reception. However we still recommend taking a genuine interest in the staff and their lives as they'll make a similar effort to communicate with you and learn about your life as well - granted you will be greeted with an even bigger smile next time you see them. I spent a good time chatting with Kit, Natmee, Chuk The food was excellent but I personally felt that it wasn't always consistent (I had the stir fry chicken twice and it was much better the first time around). It's also a bit on the high end price wise, but remember that you're in a 5-star hotel, so average food prices outside will be lower.

Gorgeous hotel, the design is stunning, we stayed in an adults only pool access room, and loved it. Attention to detail from the fiddler, the bamboo drying rack, the black sliding crittall doors, the rattan bed head. loved it. very European. Huge room, loads of salads, lovely bathroom and amazing shower. hotel is a little out of the centre of town, which we loved. As the town is a little crazy! They run a shuttle to and from town that’s free which is amazing so no problems getting back and forth, takes 10 mins. Lovely pool and pool area, dark tiles in both the pools which make it super chic. swim up bar in the main pool too, plenty of choice for cocktails and happy hours every day. Super helpful staff, Wolfgang the owner is on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly, and the ladies at the activities desk are super helpful, they helped organise a few island trips and a cooking course which we highly recommend. Breakfast was good, egg station, etc the usual. They could probably up their coffee game for a 5 star hotel but it’s not a reason to not stay there! Make sure you go to the restaurant behind the hotel, ‘Tee in the Jungle’ an absolute gem of a find, just read her Google reviews. A little family run restaurant, the food is incredible! we went 3 times, lunch and dinner. we were in Thailand 3 weeks and this was some of the best food we ate. Very authentic.

We would definitely stay again, but felt for a 5 star hotel the gym is not up to scratch. It’s very small. But on this visit, you can work with what’s in there for a small workout but there was no aircon, no towels or spray to clean the machines, and it wasn’t very clean. So we didn’t use it the whole time. Shame really for such a great hotel. But this is something easily fixed.

I had an amazing stay at the Anana Ecological Resort in Krabi! The resort's atmosphere, location, and breathtaking views from the room were absolutely delightful. The pool access suites were spacious and exceptional in every way. The resort also offers complimentary shuttle service every hour to the main city and back too. I would highly recommend the resort to others, and suggest they consider adding more vegan and vegetarian breakfast choices to enhance the overall experience.

My only disappointment was the limited vegan options at breakfast, which only included potato wedges. For guests staying for longer durations, having potato wedges everyday is not very feasible.

Eco-friendly top class hotel, located and surrounded by the nature. The rooms are very well designed, the staff is very helpful and the owner is a very nice person - who was chatting and welcoming almost all of the guests. Additionally, hotel has upgraded our room to a better one for free as a gesture to our honeymoon trip.

Nothing to mention.

Quaint place away from the noise of the tourist area. Loved the morning breakfast as well, always had something a bit different each day. Room and bed were comfortable too which is always great for after a day of travelling. Thought the shuttle being available only every 2 hours might be inconvenient but wasn't too bad, somehow fit into our schedule quite well since they have it running every hour at least for the morning.

As it's an ecological hotel located somewhat tucked away, the common areas have no Aircon (still cooling don't worry), so do be prepared for a lot of insects at night if you happen to leave the room. I wouldn't keep the balcony door open at night! The bathroom towels could also be of a better quality considering how nice the room is.

The location of the hotel is perfect, away from the busy centre with the most stunning scenery. Upon check in we were greeted by the hotel owner Wolfgang, a lovely man who is clearly passionate about his work and the sustainability of the great hotel he is running. You don’t see many owners showing so much interest, he is always checking how everything is with all the guests. The staff are excellent - always so happy to help. I would say that the service staff lacked a little training, some people always seem to be rushing around and others stood there not doing much. However all the staff were always so polite and lovely, Krit, Chuk and their manager Pong couldn’t do enough for us. Rooftop bar is excellent for sunset views and happy hour every day.

We had a upper pool access room in the new area with private pool for only 20 rooms. Upon arriving I was a little disappointed our balcony area didn’t really get much sun but I think others did. There is a nice cuddle chair for reading/relaxing but if you want to sunbathe you have to go to the other pool, so we ended up only using our private pool for a quick swim maybe once a day. Still very much enjoyable.

Excellent service, good breakfast and very stylish building and pools. We had large family rooms facing the front of the street. This was still very quiet, but the units in the back of the building, facing the second pool, look very posh. We had our own transport, else there is the hourly free shuttle bus taking you to Ao Nang. (This service stops arond 8 pm though.)

We had some noise from the neighbouring unit, but after calling the staff, this was solved.

This place is beautiful. The views are one of a kind. The room was big and comfortable. They also changed their shuttle to the beach ro go every hour. The pool was amazing and they will serve you drinks at the pool. Great happy hour choices. .

The only bad complaint I have is the wifif. It is the worst wifif and because the hotel is up on the mountain and kind of away they need to upgrade to better wifi.

Stayed in a pool access suite in the new annex of the hotel. Truly beautiful room and stunning pool. Doesn't appear to be heated. Delicious breakfast, menu driven and not buffet style at the moment, but the attentive staff will bring you all you desire and it was fresh and tasty. I loved it. Mostly western style with one rice porridge option. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout. The location is very accessible to Ao Nang, which will make island day trips a breeze. The city itself is not so pretty and the beach is not walkable from the hotel. Despite this the hotel runs a shuttle to most places you will need, including their own beach club. Sadly we did not get to visit as our days in Krabi were packed. There was a rooftop with a nice view, but we did not get to find out if the bar up there opened due to our schedule. Would probably make a lovely sunset drink. Finally, a huge, massive shout-out to Johan. In addition to all the fantastic things I've mentioned, this guy can make magic happen. He helped us arrange two days worth of activities after our initial Phi Phi tour got cancelled, plus late night transportation to Koh Lanta. We got to do a ton of stuff we would have skipped and then still got to do a speed boat tour of Phi Phi. If you need to arrange transport or tours, ask for him when you check in. Or perhaps before you show up. You won't regret it and at minimum his advice on activities is worth hearing out. Greatly appreciated. Thanks also to Nan who drove us around to several wonderful tour spots all in one day. It was a delight. My wife and I had a spectacular time here and the hotel was a great oasis to return to after long days. I'd recommend staying here to anyone. Thanks for the memories Anana!

Location isn't great for walking convenience, some amenities feel slightly scaled back (breakfast, bar hours). I'm nitpicking here.
