Hotel Tor

The room was just wonderful for the family, and meet cleanliness expectation. The Hotel team were very good and cooperative. The Hotel is quite near to the centre and lake side, so most of the place can be visited on foot. Overall the ambiance and location of the hotel is very good.

Breakfast is not up to the mark, we were expecting buffet and elaborated continental breakfast as mentioned in the booking advt. however it was not like that, a limited breakfast items was served in the room, which doesn't meets the benchmark as per the cost of the room which includes breakfast. The management must think about that.

The location was 5 minutes walk from the station the lake and the good shops.This was good for us. It is a basic hotel but fulfilled our needs. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place was secure. The continental breakfast was brought to our room on time and was very edible - bread/croissants/yoghurt/ fruit and sometimes a slice of cheese/ butter and confiture.Coffee and hot milk.

The bathroom was very small. We needed to sit sideways on the toilet. I am an English size 10 and the bath was just big enough. Anyone larger might have found it a squash!

We arrived to early too check in and were met with a very warm welcome along with an offer to store our luggage which we appreciated. The gentleman on duty on reception around 13:30 was extremely helpful. He gave us travel passes and useful information regarding how to get to Cern. When we went back late afternoon to check in the lady on reception gave us good ideas for local restaurants. The triple room was spacious with a modern ensuite bathroom and also a well equipped kitchen. Fabulous breakfast, far better than expected. Hotel is well located for train and bus stations and the lake.

Room was a bit hot overnight but a fan was provided and the weather was unusually hot for the time of year.

Location was perfect for my needs. Room was clean and comfortable despite the very warm temperatures thanks to the fan supplied. Breakfast was excellent and was delivered earlier than normally done because of the extraordinarily early departure of my flight. I did not ask for that: it was offered by the receptionist!

I found the entrance to the hotel was difficult for me as I had 2 large and heavy suitcases. However when I checked out and left extremely early for the airport, there was someone there apparently espressly to help me downstairs to the taxi.

I appreciated the free pass for local public transportation. This was very helpful for me to move easily between the Cornavin train station and the airport, both on arrival and departure. The location was very good for getting to the lakeside, and for proximity to the train station.

The location of the reception on the third floor of the building is a bit off-putting for some. One has to realize that the hotel is an older European establishment; otherwise, arriving guests may be easily confused. After I had checked in, I helped an arriving couple to get to reception because they were confused.

Very good location. In the middle of the station and town center. Booked a single room, but was quite spacious. A big window looking out to a square surely helps. They also provided a much needed fan during peak summers. Its an old-ish building but i would say well maintained. The breakfast service in your room was nice and always on time

Bathroom could have been bigger

This is an old style hotel on the third floor in a commercial area. No electronic amenities other than elevator and TV. Great location between the train station and lake. All staff are kind and generous. Our room was upgraded without requesting it. There was a small , unexpected kitchen too. View overlooking a place with church. Best was breakfast brought to our room every morning!

We like open windows. There is some street noise. Busy city.

lovely old building which was spotless . reception staff were extremely helpful and were very welcoming .situation was perfect for the lake and old town and walking around Geneva . Right by the station also and transport and we were given free transportation cards around Geneva and to the airport .NIce touch to bring the breakfast tray to the room as we were travelling on and this meant we could take our time .

The breakfast was outstanding, by far the best continental we had on our travels! The staff were really helpful and attentive, and the location was unbelievable, literally a street behind 5 star luxury hotels for a fair price.

The bathroom was dated and we had some kids banging on the walls next door for 10mins, until we banged back and they stopped. Also had to have the windows open as it was hot, but this meant we could hear the construction outside in the early morning, which wasn’t great.

Everything in Hotel Tor has exceeded my expectations. Very central hotel just 5 minutes walking to Geneva main train station with comfortable room and very tasty breakfast serviced at our room. The staff at reception were very very helpful and friendly especially Laurant and ilma who helped me to get back my mobile which i lost it in Frankfurt Train station and also gave me transportation card for free using of public bus,tram and train transportation in Geneva. The room service lady who brought our tasty breakfast was also very kind and helpful. Really,this is very comfortable hotel in the most central location in Geneva with best value for money.....i strongly recommend it to anyone one wants to enjoy his short tour in Geneva with very reasonable price.
