Hotel Suisse

I have to travel to Geneva 2-3 times every year for business (except during the pandemic), and this hotel has become my home away from home during my visits. The location is very convenient, just across the road to Gare Cornavin, the main train station and other public transport connections. The hotel has been renovated recently and is spotlessly clean. I was surprised to see that they had even installed new lifts. The check-in and check-out process was easy and smooth. My room was located on the top floor overlooking Gare Cornavin, but was not noisy at all. The room was nice, clean and spacious and had a balcony from which I enjoyed the view everyday with a cup of hot coffee. The room and bathroom were cleaned regularly, and I did not lack any amenities. A simple but fresh breakfast spread is provided everyday, and there are plenty of restaurants and cafes around the area. The staff were kind, helpful and very professional.

I would prefer a bottle of water every day, instead of just a bottle on the first day. The bed was a bit saggy need to be replaced.

Great location- across the street from the train station, but our 4th floor room was not noisy at all. Super easy to get to by train (6 min ride) from the airport, and Geneva provides free transport oases that can be used for this. Kind and helpful front desk staff, and spotlessly clean.

Room is small; it has all you need but nothing more.

Had chosen Hotel Suisse for its vicinity to the station for arrival by train and easily getting to the airport for departure. Everything was in walking distance ie the lake, lakeside strolls to the beach or Parc des Eaux Vives, shopping district and old town. Plenty of restaurants with outdoor tables to be found in immediate neighbourhood/side streets. The young man on the front desk was very helpful on a few occasions and the bonus Geneva card allowed free train travel to the airport. The size of the double room was adequate for 2 people . The bed was generously sized and very comfortable. Loved the in room coffee machine, safe etc. The bathroom had the shower over the bath but everything was very clean and adequate for our stay. The room also offered 2 armchairs. As we were active and out a lot Hotel Suisse served us well for this stay. We enjoyed their breakfasts in the lightfilled breakfast room with savoury and sweet options, from ie scrambled eggs to Bircher Muesli, cheeses, yoghurt, fruit and good coffee.

The location is across from the main Geneva train station so with luggage is ideal. It is also within short walking distance from main bus stop. Nearby you can also find a local food/shopping mall with international food takeaway. Very convdnient. The church view on the side is beautiful. So it is a perfect base to visit Geneva and nearby towns. Geneva airport is also so efficient. Another thoughtful plus of the hotel - eventhough the entrance is small, a traditional door, but it is automatic! So you dont need to push or pull when you enter. The room is comfortable, the bathroom is traditional but they make it so functional so no complaint.

The lady reception staff when we checked out. She made a fuss about splitting the bill for us. We had no problem splitting bill among friends anywhere in the world. And we stayed in 2 rooms for 4 people divided equally! The only negative about our stay.

Great location - vis-a-vis main train station. Despite of that it was pretty quiet. Very clean. The room and bathroom facilities looked new and contemporary. Bathrobes and slippers are provided. Free wifi with good connection throughout the hotel. The hotel provide free ticket for the whole stay which can be used in the train from/to airport and city transport across Geneva.

The breakfast was very basic, however everything that was offered was fresh and tasty.

location was excellent for the railway station and a reasonable walk down to the lake. Clean hotel, comfortable beds & good quality bedding & towels. Had a superior room so was spacious & with a fridge, also both a coffee pod machine & kettle. had a good shower. Continental breakfast had everything you needed & with good coffee and takeaway cups if you wanted.

Being across from the station is was slightly noisy, but suppose that’s expected. No milk in the room for the coffee etc. Found the area restricted when it came to places to eat & bars etc. Be aware that apart from breakfast there are no other no onsite bar/meal facilities.

The location was fantastic as it was right across from the train station and 5 min walk from the bus station. The area was safe, lots of options for restaurants and shopping as it was in the downtown core. We arrived just after 9am and were offered a room for early check in. The room was renovated, clean, and bright. I would recommend this hotel for couples staying in Geneva for a couple of days.

I believe the price point at 230 Euros for a 3* hotel was on the high side. But other options in Geneva was even more expensive. So from a value perspective, it was alright.

Extremely comfortable mattress and nice sheets. Directly across the street from the train station so an easy walk with luggage, but not noisy with the window shut. My room 603 had a small balcony with a lovely view of the basilica. It had an adequate small desk with chair and also a separate bedside chair. Lighting in the room was good. Breakfast was good and included lots of options including eggs and bacon. Very clean. All staff fluent in English, friendly, and helpful with my questions. Room was on the small side but big enough for a single. The hotel provided me with a pass for free local public transportation during my stay which was easy and convenient since the train station is a hub. I would definitely book this hotel again.

The is minor, but a large faucet with a small sink make it a little awkward to wash my face.

Being right across from the Bahnhof was extremely convenient for arrival and departure. Walking to/from Old Town was mere minutes and didn't require taking transit unless traveling longer distances.

There wasn't anything to dislike that would prevent me from returning. The room was good, just some minor things with the bathroom but not bad. Sink ran unless you turned it to the right spot to prevent dripping and the tub was a little high to get in/out of if you're not tall and have long legs. Otherwise there wasn't anything to dislike.

Location was excellent, across from the train and tram station and near to cafés, bars and shops. We did not realise that the sockets in Switzerland were smaller than the rest of Europe so our UK to EU converters did not fit but reception kindly lent us one for the duration of our stay. The electronics shop next door was handy as I went and bought a USB plug from there the following morning. The staff were excellent and the room was clean and a good size.

We did not have any issues but if we had to say something it would be the price. However, we noticed straight away that Switzerland is a very expensive country, after Geneva we then also travelled to Zurich and Liechtenstein, and in comparison to other available hotels in Geneva that met our requirements, Hotel Suisse offered the best value.
