Hotel St. Gervais

It is a small family-owned hotel perfectly located 5 mins walk from the main train station and 10 mins walk from the lake. The facility is simple but sufficient for one's needs, it has a comfy bed, numerous sockets near bed, a TV set. The room I booked had no bathroom, but for one night it was just fine, beside, there was a wash basin in the room, so everything worked well. The reception works only till 3.00 pm, but the hotel made sure in advance that all essential information was shared ahead of time (numerous emails with codes for the door and for the wifi as well as emergency phone numbers and other important information were sent a few days in advance). And what I consider the biggest asset of the hotel was the receptionist (owner?). He was joyful, kind, smiling, understanding, readily sharing all the important information and genuinely interested in the hotel guests and their well being and comfort - probably the nicest receptionist I have met during my numerous travels

Obviously it would have been nice to have a bathroom, but it was my conscious choice to book such a room (Geneva is a very expensive city, so even such a room was not very cheap by average standards, but quite normal for the local prices). Otherwise, I would have just added a kettle in the room, the rest was fine

The room was cosy, clean and well-maintained. There is a small lift in addition to the staircase given the hotel has quite a few floors, which helps with moving luggage. The location is absolutely perfect - around 5 minutes walk from the main train station and very convenient to the other major areas of Geneva.

It is worth noting that there is a shared bathroom, although it is only shared with a few rooms on the same floor and is cleaned daily. The reception also has fairly short hours from 7am-3pm but we did not have any issues with late check-in.

The staff was friendly, thoughtful, professional and helpful. The hotel was clean, and there's an elevator so you don't have to drag luggage up the stairs. You also get a free public transit card to use during your stay!

There's no air conditioning but that's only because Switzerland has strict rules about it so a lot of places don't have it. But they do have a fan in the room. The first floor shower is small but you can just use the bigger one on the second floor.

Considering that this was the cheapest option for 2 people, it was over my expectation. The room is small, but there was everything necessary ready to use. Everything was clean and tidy. A positive experience. The staff was kind.

Everything is so expensive in this city. This kind of hotel would cost 1/4-th the price in other european country. No airco.

Staff was super nice, the room was small but had a sink, TV, free wifi and lots of storage options. We shared the bathroom/shower with 2 other rooms and was clean and tidy and nice to use.

The elevator was hilariously tiny, and there was construction to the building next to us, and there was no breakfast (although more than enough options right out the door), but apart from that, perfect cute little hotel

People were super friendly and helpful, and also professionally prepared for guests. We got city map, suggestions what to visit and Geneva Pass to use public transportation. The location is perfect as it is only few minutes walking from train station and at the corner there is bus/tram stop. Well organized.

The room was a bit small and only one chair was inside for 2 guests. The shared bathroom was different by floors, maybe some serious cleaning could help.

Great little low-cost hotel close to the main station. Quiet & comfortable. Very easy self check in with PIN code. Friendly staff. Area felt safe.

As a low-cost hotel the decor is a little tired, the staff are only present certain hours, and the cheapest rooms have shared bathrooms. But this is also why it's low-cost and is more than outweighed by central location, convenience & price!

A very good location, near to the station allows to easy access to every part of the city. It was a huge facillitation that hotel provides Geneva City Pass which enables a free of charge and limitless access to public transport during whole stay. Moreover, there were a plenty of nice pubs and restaurants in the neighborhood. The receptionist was really friendly and nice.

Due to the proximity to the city center, it was a little bit noisy outside. Lack of the electric kettle in the room was problematic.

We really enjoyed the short distance between the accomodation and the city center. Also the simple living cells with just one bed were too comfy. Lady over the desk was really helpful and so kind.

lovely little hotel in the centre of Geneva. the owner/manager was so nice and friendly. I needed an extra pillow and he sorted it out and was lovely to chat to. would highly recommend
