Hotel des Alpes

Location - less than 5 mins from geneve cornavin station and 5 mins from Lake Geneva Staff - check in was very pleasant and team was helpful Cleanliness of property - shared areas and room Safe in room. Nice shower and comfy bed. Air con provided.

We were only there for one night so not a massive problem but the view out of the rear (room 301) was onto the back and very grim. Also - the air con unit above dripped constantly throughout the night which was a bit annoying. I mentioned it to reception (not as a complaint) but they said they were aware and it was normal to drip so not sure it will get fixed.

Hotels des Alpes (at the Rue des Alpes) is at an excellent location on 1 minute walking to the Gare Cornavin train and bus station and the Lac Leman (Geneva Lake). The Hotel has a new and clean look. The rooms are comfortable also the bed and the bathroom. The breakfast was fairly good and staff friendly. A lot of cheap Chinese, Libanese, Turkish, Indian etc, restaurants are at a walking distance, also several supermarkets (Migros) and souvenir shops. Good for vacations but also business trips such as conferences. The big warehouse Manor is also on 3 minutes waling distance.

Very well located near the train station and well surrounded by a lot of restaurants, shops and sites. You are a hop away from all the buses in the region so you can easily go to the UN Headquarters. The room is average for europe (less than 20 square meters) but it includes all the necessary amenities, including excellent WIFI. Right accross the street you cna chose to eat (or take-away) from many different kinds of restaurants. As I was traveling alone I fell safe getting back from work late or leaving early in the morning,

Not much really. This is hotel with good value for money and you get what you pay for.

The location of this hotel is great! We were traveling by public transportation and it is located on a few blocks from both the train station and the bus station. We also needed to leave luggage and the hotel (as we were returning to the same hotel after traveling elsewhere for a couple of weeks). They were very helpful and securing stored our suitcase for the 2 week period.

We stayed at this hotel during the summer and it was very hot. The air conditioning in our room was not great and then it stopped completely. We finally asked to move rooms and we were able to do so. The air conditioning in the second room was better but was very noisy.

The hotel is near the main railway station and tram/bus terminal but this is a pleasant area.The hotel is also very near to the lake and the main bridge across to the old town so is ideal for exploring. The staff were very helpful and breakfasts were good with lots of choice. We would certainly stay here again if coming to Geneva.

The room was not particularly big but that was not really a problem. The benefits of the location and facilities outweighed this. We had asked for a quiet room and had been given a room at the back of the hotel so were not bothered by street noise.

I've stayed a few times and never disappointed. Renovated not long ago so everything's bright and new. Even a small fitness room. The rooms are comfortable and bigger than in many other Geneva hotels. Very close to the train station; 5 minute walk to the lake. Plenty of restaurants nearby. In the lobby is a coffee machine in the lobby for free excellent coffee for guests 24/7, also soda water unlimited.

Breakfast is adequate, but not fancy. Some cheeses and fresh pastries, but only boiled eggs and no cooked food at all.

Literally less than a 5 minute walk to the central train station. It’s also just a short walk to Lake Geneva and then across the bridge to Old Town. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful with suggestions for what to do and how to get to places. The staff quickly accommodated us with a corkscrew and an electrical converter when requested. The coffee machine had a nice selection of beverages and was easy to use. The water dispenser had both still and sparkling water.

The carpet on the stairs was worn and stained. A fresh coat of paint for our room and stairwell are needed. A couple of hooks in our bathroom would have been nice.

Hotel des Alpes is located perfectly. About 200 metres from central railway station Cornavin. Thus, all main local public transport option in easy reach. Geneva offers a free travel card with your stay. Various restaurants in easy walking distance and a good variety of shops. Lake Geneva / Brunswick Mausoleum 10 min walking, continuing along the lake for another 10 minutes gets you to Rue confederation (shopping) and the beginning of old town. Buffet breakfast offers a good choice / nothing fancy. Staff super friendly. Good value for money (rooms are small, basically bed a chair/small desk + bathroom = ok to sleep, could be problematic for longer stays).

Nothing re hotel. Booking.com offered option to prebook taxi from airport to hotel for about 65CHF. Used taxi service at airport for 35CHF (Note: could have used public transport/travel card).

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed the variety of breakfast items (salmon, cheese, fresh fruit, etc.). The location is perfect for both leisure and business - just a walking distance from the Cornavin station, which is a public transport hub, as well as from the lakeside of Léman. Would stay there again.

At night, I could hear the TV on from the neighboring apartment.

The room size was reasonable for the price we paid. The bathroom was clean, though it had a small sink. The location is very close to the main station, which is an advantage. The hotel gives you a discounted card to use for the car park in the basement of the central station which is an amazing perk.

The breakfast was like a budget hotel breakfast. One of the reception staff didn't speak English.. we are in an international city like Geneva and the lady who was on the check-in desk didn't speak more than 2 words in English. We found it slightly strange and difficult to communicate.
