Bastion Hotel Eindhoven Waalre

This is definetly hotel worth all the money you spend here. You dont come in hotel like this, pay what you pay and expect 5 stars. That being said, really happy with everything here. It is clean, beds are comfortable and breakfast is just good. There is also billard table where you can play until 1.A.M. Lobby looks really nice with all those books inside, like a small private library. Staff is professional and helpful. Special hello to a younger girl working in breakfast buffet area. First morning I asked for scrambled eggs, she said I need to wait a little bit because lot of people order as well. I just sit down and accept my fate without eggs this morning. But 15 minutes later, she personally brought me eggs to my table. That is small but very big detail. :) Location little bit off the centrum, but with Dutch bikes you are all good and there in only 10 minutes.

Although old school pictures in hotel are nice, maybe they need a little bit of changing :)

It was very quiet (we couldn't even hear the highway right next to the hotel), the beds super comfortable and the view gorgeous (room in the 11th floor). You don't have to walk far to get to a store or restaurant (maybe 10min) and it's really nice to walk around the neighbourhood with it's typical Dutch look.

The gate to the property was very akward. We (and many other people too) initially didn't know how to open the gate (it's just the press of a button but nobody tells you that) and the sensor for letting cars outside is a bit finicky as well. The warm water in the shower isn't exactly consistent - every now and then it surprised me with a little bit of colder water (nothing too uncomfortable though).

Very friendly staff, free bicycle storage was offered, nice lunch pack in a cooler bag, slept well in a good bed, clean rooms, nice breakfast with friendly and attentive staff. Despite the location so close to the motorway, one could comfortably ride a bicyle either into the city or enjoy the green areas nearby. Crossing the motorway on bike lanes was absolutely no problem at all. Einhoven's urban planning is very bike friendly with an enormous park area to explore by bike or on foot. The Olympic swimming pool is also easy to reach by bicycle.

The smoking area outside was too close to the hotel. As a non-smoker there was no obvious option to sit outside. It was a little cool with doors open and smoke coming in. Other than that, it was all fine and I would visit again.

nice size room and clean

bathroom floor tiles slippery and water didn’t drain out of shower, would have been better if they had provided a squeegee for the floor. so my disabled husband had to walk through a pool of water and balance on slippery tiles to get out of the shower. on arrival we were looking forward to having a meal at the restaurant but were told it was shut. so we had to leave the hotel to try to find a restaurant in the surrounding. it would have been nice if we had been given a list of places we could get our evening meal from. on arrival we were asked if we had booked breakfast, the website made it complicated for us to find out if breakfast was included, the guy at reception couldn’t tell us if the breakfast was included or not.

Typical Bastion hotel. Everything works, nice staff, clean rooms. Excellent hotel when travelling by car. Very good gated parking area, so I was not afraid to leave my car there.

A bit better signs on main road would be nice, hotel is a bit remote and in the middle of a residential area so I missed the correct intersection on my satnav when I was busy looking around for locals cycling, walking, driving. Otherwise all good :-)

Hotel thanked us with a beautiful handwritten personal card and delivered amazing glass bottles of water and chocolates. When exhausted from our travel we had dinner brought to us super fast and the staff even helped us acquire a taxi to the airport. The bar downstairs made some of the yummiest alcoholic creations. They used gorgeous glassware (stem and short glass) for our use in the room and of course a Delft tea cup set. Across the street from a good sushi spot and breakfast at Mortimer. 10 minute walk from Anne Frank house, 8 minute walk from the train central. Family of 5! 16 yr old, 5 and 3 yr old.

We had the cheapest room but it was clean, beautifull and the beds were very nice. Our stay was very comfortable.

We could not check in earlier than 14u but the room was not ready at that time. We had to wait 20 minutes for the company to clean the room and we did not get compensated for that. When u deny early checkin, and not have the room cleaned in time, find a way to compensate the customer.

The location of the hotel is perfect for accessing the motorway. The check-in staff and the check-out staff was lovely and helpful. We were able to check-in early though only by 1 hr. The first room we were allocated sadly the air-conditioning wasn't working but the lady that had checked us into the hotel relocated us to another room immediately. The room size was adequate as was the bed size but unfortunately the mattress wasn't

The mattress was unfortunately far too soft and springy somewhat like a trampoline.

The room was excellent and we didn't have breakfast. The most incredible, the staff. Excellent people, kind and very nice with us. We feel like home. It was a great pleasure staying inthe Bastion Hotel.

We would like to spend more days, but we only went to Eindhoven to watch a football match and we returned to Barcelona the next day. We will return. It is a must.

Great shower and bathroom, comfy bed. It was great to have a pool table and dart board room.. The accommodation staff cleaning the room, changing the towels when dirty was appreciated. The view from the rooms was really nice.

No tea in the bedroom or hot water to make tea, or milk for tea. For us Irish 😜 Thank you.
