Hyatt Place was a nice, comfortable stay. The common areas were clean. The rooms were nice, spacious, modern and very clean. They allowed me to check in an hour before the check in time which was very convenient. Their breakfast had a nice selection: muffins, breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, fruit, coffee, tea, etc. I would stay again.

There were several times that I opened my room door and had a huge luggage cart right in front of my door AND they just just randomly have them up and down the hallway in the middle of the floor. Definitely a fire hazard which I was not comfortable with. I notified the front desk, and they did move them eventually.

The overnight parking rate of $50 is outrageous. I will not stay here again and i will tell friends to avoid this property as wel.

I liked how the hotel was located walking distance from many hotspots in Downtown Austin. The room was nice and spacious. The staff were very welcoming and the complimentary breakfast hit the spot.

Just one thing, there was an issue flushing my toilet sometimes where the water wouldn’t release and flush when pressing down on the lever but the plumber came and fixed it by putting a longer chain that went from the toilet lever to the water release attachment. Hope this wasn’t an issue in other rooms.

The guest room is at good size and clean. The decoration and facilities are in good condition. The room is quiet and with good sound isolation. All the hotel staff I met were nice and helpful. The breakfast are tasted good, with enough variety. There are several good restaurants and coffee shops just at the opposite side of the street. Supermarkets, like Whole Foods Market and Target, are within 10 min walk. Importantly, the WiFi was expectedly fast. It is good enough for video calls (and youtube). I did not need to wait long for getting the car from valet parking, usually within 5 minutes.

The water of the shower was slow. I find this is quite a common problem at hotels in the US and Canada. This is my only complaint of the guest room. It would be wonderful if free coffee and tea could also be available after breakfast time. Public transport was absence near the hotel, but it is more likely the problem of the whole district / city. Valet parking is not cheap but acceptable.

The location is excellent - walking distance to most things you want to do in Austin. The bed was very comfortable too!

I stayed there Tuesday through Monday. I was told that my room would be cleaned mid-way through. I called on Friday morning to request someone to come clean the room, change the towels and empty the garbage. I was told that "they were booked" for the day. That, to me, is unacceptable. They did agree to empty the garbage and change the towels and they cleaned the room the next day. However, I should not have to "book" my room cleaning. After all, I am paying for the room.

Located 2 blocks from the Austin Convention Center and 2 blocks from the 2nd Street restaurant area, the location of the Hyatt Place Hotel is good. There is a Royal Blue Grocery store opposite the hotel. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is plentiful even if the choices are not varied. Room temperature control is not as easy to use as I expected but at least there was air-conditioning. The room floors are mostly wooden as it is advisable to bring slippers as those are not provided. The rooms are decent sized with a sofa/couch area included. The queen sized bed mattress tended to be a bit soft. Pillows were firm enough. There were generous number of lamps in the room. There is decent thai restaurant (Mai Thai) nearby, next to the excellent Revolucion cafe. The famous Gus Fried Chicken restaurant is just 1 block away also.

One of the elevator had some issues and became noisy and shaky whilst moving one night. The loud sounds were quite obvious though the hotel staff werent aware and had to be informed the next day. It was promptly fixed though.

The location is fantastic. The room was very clean. The staff is also very smiling and great!

The breakfast was not as I expected. Could be much better for a 4 stars hotel. For example, there are no eggs or bacon.. A basic for an American breakfast!! + They need to work a bit more on the quality control of the milk they provide. I've got two serious incidents concerning milk expiration date in one week to two weeks interval

Everything was excellent. Staff was friendly, personable and helpful. Rooms are large and roomy. Bed was comfortable. Shower was spacious.

No condiments at the free breakfast. Free complimentary WiFi needs a boost. Hot water was hard to come by. A/C unit goes on and off and blows right on you.

Parking charge, $54.00 per day!!! Security deposit - 50 dollars a day, clean the room every 3 days, no shower caps!!

The hotel room was very clean. The front desk staffs were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is very good. There are a lot of good restaurants nearby. Also it is close to the convention center and the Colorado river. I also like the feature that nobody can access the guest floors in the elevator without the room key. Also, the hotel staff allowed me to store my luggage for free in the hotel for more than 6 hours after check out which was of great help.

There was only chair in the room. I was using it sometimes for work. So, my wife had to lift it to the mirror each time she needs to make over. It would be nice if the hotel could provide another chair or a chair with wheels. The hotel breakfast was monotonic. It would be nice if they could add some more variations to the menu.
