La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Miami Airport North

Firstly, I missed my flight at MIA International Airport so I had to find accommodations for one night for my family and I. In looking on Booking.com I saw the reasonable rate at La Quinta, a chain that I had stayed at before. I chose the hotel due to the amenities of free shuttle service, proximity to the airport and free wifi. I didn’t expect a microwave to be in my room and there was which was a plus!! I figured I’d use the microwave in the hotel lobby to warm my baby’s bottles. Breakfast was available in the morning and the coffee was hot, my kids had a nice variety to choose from and the shuttle was ready to drop us to the airport on time. The staff were pleasant and the room was clean and filled with essentials for our one night stay.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t very familiar with MIA International Airport so I was advised that I should wait at a particular zone (7) for the shuttle which would arrive on the hour. I waited and saw several other hotel buses arriving, some even twice but no La Quinta. I didn’t think much of it as the hour hadn’t arrived as yet. I didn’t have service to call the hotel due to having an international phone service but I had someone call the hotel to inquire whether the shuttle was coming once I saw the hour had passed by about 5 minutes. The concierge asked which zone I was at and that the driver would arrive shortly. So I think it would be vital to advise where the correct zone is to wait for the La Quinta shuttle when booking for guests to be aware.

Breakfast wasn't good at all. A granola bar and a bottle of water is not breakfast at all.

The hotel was clean and they cleaned daily. The location was quite good as it was near the airport and the buses pass infront of the hotel . Also there were many food options around ...Wendy's , Denny's, Mc Donalds and a small plaza with some more food options. There was also a Tmobile if you wanted to purchase a sim card for use as an international traveller. The breakfast options weren't much but it was still appreciated as there was fruit, coffee, tea and bread options. The security guy was awesome!! And the female staff on shift during the day was very helpful (can't remember her name)

I didnt like the time the shuttle stops collecting travellers at the airport. For international passengers 9:00 pm is too early. We got outside around 10:30 pm and called the front desk and was told the shuttle service ends at 9:00 pm. Miami Airport usually is a mess to clear immigration so consideration should be given for later times ... probably midnight? Especially for international flights It was good having breakfast but please have a warm option for eggs, if you are going to have it ... cold eggs aren't very easy to eat.. otherwise based on cost everything else was good. I would recommend .

The hotel was clean & the staff was efficient. I wouldn't go as far as to say they were friendly though & the desk clerk tried to mansplain how to use a key card. (We travel often, we know how to open a door when the key has been programmed correctly. Since it was cold and wet while we were there I didn't appreciate trotting back down to the desk after toting the bags upstairs to have them program the keys.) They are also within walking distance of a little strip mall with some great restaurants to check out.

The breakfast they provided was pretty sad. Boiled eggs and DIY toast. I think they may have had some fruit & yogurt also. We skipped their sorry version of breakfast and went next door to McDonald's. Also, the door to the bathroom seemed to be hanging off the hinges & was incredibly noisy every time one went to the bathroom. There was no way to get in there quietly to avoid waking it disturbing the other person. Also, the plugs in the lamps didn't work so our devices didn't charge overnight.

Great value for money, very close to the airport. Restaurants all around it. We found our room very clean after every day and the AC was a life saver due to Miami being hot and humid. Overall good experience!

Some of the staff barely knew any English. Cmon guys you're next to the airport, this is unforgivable. View wasn't anything spectacular, but then again, we knew what we were going for. Not suitable if you want to explore central Miami & South beach by foot.

Our room was very clean and located downstairs, thankfully. I am disabled and I don't think I could have made it much farther by the time we got there. The bed was super comfortable and I would have loved to snooze longer if we hadn't had other plans. Our driver was so helpful and did his best to help guests out with whatever they needed. He helped us out a couple of times while we were there.

Sadly,the breakfast was extremely sparse. Not much to choose from and not much of that left. Just a few more choices would be nice. We are cruisers and the cruise port isn't that far away. Now that cruises are back in full swing, it would be nice to add shuttle service back into your amenities, as there are very few hotels offering this option right now. I imagine you would be full most nights!

Breakfast was good, the rooms are spacious and staff were very nice.

There was a mess everywhere. Also the pool area was very dirty I even picked up a lot of garbage because I couldn't take a decent picture of me without seeing garbage in the background. And there were to many children unattented without their parents and they were very young and i couldn't lay comfortable because I ended up watching them. I was scared they would get hurt or drown.

the Room is pleasant! 2 double beds, no sofabed etc! but it was Good.. Location is very good; close to airport.. wendy's & McDonalds in the door, Gas Station across the street.. Malls & Zoo & other marketplaces not far away.. Free Shuttle to airport also..

bigger room, or with a Sofabed etc! Parking was sometimes full, needed to park further away from the room.. bathroom is also a little bit small..

The lobby and our room has had up graded. they both were pretty. it smelled good which makes me think it has to be clean. The hotel is great for a one night trip or one of those trips where you plan to be out of the room most of the time, you just need to shower and sleep.

I asked the front desk clerk if they served hot breakfast and he responded with yes, we serve breakfast. That morning I was expecting more than hot toast. No problem because there is a McDonald’s next door and I think Denny’s was on the other side. Note, there is no refrigerator or microwave.

It completely meet my expectations. It was all clean and comfortable, comfortable beds and pillows, there was a desk and a comfortable chair, perfect for video conferences, the breakfast was included and there was a coffee maker with sugar, cream, coffee which was really helpful.

Everything was the way we needed.
