Mission Inn

Clean rooms and very quiet - we were in one of the rooms to the back that we requested. Room is quite large and airy, with a good bed and decent bathroom. Nothing much special, but we really appreciated the parkette floor instead of carpet. Given prices in Santa Cruz and vicinity, the hotel's location and rooms, it's a decent price-quality ratio.

Staff upon check-in was a bit grumpy, didn't want to give us a room in the back to begin with, but then brightened up and were quite nice. Other staff at the front desk were professional. Breakfast was rather minimal - only boiled eggs which weren't that easy to find. Location is okay, but one needs a car, and exiting onto Highway 1 towards the south with a left turn is not that easy - loads of traffic.

The receptionists were both very kind and polite to us. While they were checking us in we had good conversation about interests we both shared and it was all around friendly experience. They didn't make us feel like strangers and they didn't seem to want to get us in our rooms and out their hair. Very nice people.

The seating for the breakfast area was slim. The room all the breakfast was in was pretty small and required your hotel keycard to enter. This left my wife and me going in and out of the breakfast room a few times and needing to trade the keycard back and forth to go in for things we couldn't carry out on our first trip in.

The Mission Inn in Santa Cruz was an unforgettable stay for my husband, myself, and my nephew who is an adult with autism. We decided to bring him along for his birthday, and we were all very pleased with our choice. The hotel's location was one of the main factors in making our stay enjoyable. It was conveniently located next to two grocery stores, Safeway and New leaf. This made it easy for us to purchase anything we needed during our stay, such as snacks or toiletries. The hotel was also within walking distance to the Pacific Ocean, which allowed us to take a beautiful stroll along the beach. Overall, the location of the hotel made it easy for us to navigate the area and enjoy all that Santa Cruz had to offer. The variety of eating options in the area was another factor that added to the enjoyment of our stay. We found that there were plenty of dining options nearby that catered to all tastes. Whether we wanted a casual meal or something fancier, there was always an option available that suited our needs. This made it easy for us to enjoy our meals without having to worry about finding a restaurant that everyone would enjoy. But what really made our stay outstanding was the hotel itself. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home as soon as we arrived. The hotel had a warm and cozy ambiance that made us feel relaxed and comfortable during our entire stay. The room was immaculate, with plenty of space for the three of us to move around freely. Additionally, the hotel had several amenities that made our stay all the more comfortable, including complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi, and parking. Overall, I would highly recommend the Mission Inn in Santa Cruz to anyone looking for a great hotel. Whether you're traveling with family or friends, I'm confident that you would enjoy your stay as much as we did. With its convenient location, great dining options, and friendly staff, the Mission Inn truly is a winner.

you have to have a sharp right turn when you arrive.

The property was in a great location for what we wanted to do. Everything was within 10-15 minutes. We were able to check in right at 3pm. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of lighting in the room.

We had to eat breakfast right at 7am as we had to be at the college 30 minutes later. Unfortunately, all of the breakfast items were not ready and available at this time so we ended up with quick cold foods like bagels, muffins, and bananas. Was hoping everything would be out and ready to serve the several guests that were in the breakfast room.

Close to Natural Bridges State Park and other attractions and amenities such as grocery store and restaurants. The room was very clean and nicely appointed with 2 comfortable queen beds and sofa bed. There was plenty of room for all 5 of us. We were able to park right by our room.

The sofa bed was a bit lumpy and lopsided and the shower faucet seemed loose… still operational, though. The breakfast was average at best. The waffle cup maker was great but not much else. My family is not big on breakfast so we were OK with the bagels and cereal. The apple juice was too sweet.

I am so happy about choosing Mission Inn. The room was very clean & comfortable. I really appreciated the excellent housekeeping. I will stay at Mission Inn anytime I'm in Santa Cruz.

The price was confusing. Booked with booking.com & person at the desk at the hotel couldn't give me a receipt. I asked her what were charges she quoted higher prices than was told & I would had to check with booking.com. The continental breakfast was no good. The milk for cereal was warm & the muffins were stale. Other than that, the visit was fabulous!

Our room was clean, spacious, and served our needs well. The hotel was central to many of the places we wanted to visit, and was located right by a Safeway for convenient grocery shopping.

There wasn't much that we didn't find satisfactory, though the complimentary breakfast did leave a little to be desired. However, considering it was free (though perhaps included in the cost of the room), we can't really complain.

This motel was perfect for our overnight stay in Santa Cruz. Friendly and efficient front desk staff, easy parking, quiet, clean, updated furnishings and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was more than just continental. A waffle maker and several types of cereal were avaliable. We would stay again!

The buildings next door and surrounding the motel are a bit run down, but the wharf and beach are just a few minutes away.

Friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful, updated rooms with no carpeting which was nice. Beds were pretty comfy. Great breakfast: fruit, yogurt, string cheese, hard boiled eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, mini waffle maker, bagels or bread, cereal.

Room appears clean, but the base of the tub on the outside and around the chair in the corner had long, dark hairs that were very off-puting as it likely meant the floors weren’t very clean. Sheets were scratchy.

The breakfast was also for European breakfast standards good, it included apples, bananas, oranges, baggles, cheese, boiled eggs, different flakes, yoghurt and a waffle iron to make fresh waffles! I didnt travel alone, however, it felt very safe also for women travelling alone.

It is disturbing that all the dishes, cuttlery, cups are disposable tableware. In times of global warming, my expectations are that also hotels contribute with their services to a cleaner and greener planet and reduce the trash significantly.
