Urban Boutique Hotel

This is a great hotel in a great location and has a fair price. I have stayed at this hotel three times so far over the years and will stay there again. The hotel is kept very nice and clean. The staff is courteous, friendly, and helpful. My room was very clean and had a very comfortable bed. I picked Little Italy when I first started traveling to San Diego because it is out of the downtown area but close enough to walk there and to the Gaslamp District. Little Italy is a lively neighborhood with a variety of mostly Italian restaurants but with some other choices as well. I walk to many places from Little Italy but it is also convenient to buses and trolleys.

Noisy exhaust fan in the bathroom. In the scheme of things it was a minor annoyance, but quiet would be better.

The location is hard to beat. I was able to walk to many attractions (the Midway Museum, Seaport Village, the ferry to Coronado) and of course Little Italy, which is literally around the corner. Plenty of restaurants and cafés within walking distance. My favorite restaurant was Isola, in the next street. My room faced the back, so I didn't hear any traffic noise. The room was cleaned every day, which is not done in every hotel. The receptionists were all polite and helpful. A special thank to Macy, who printed out my boarding passes.

A few flaws, all minor. The safe was way up above the closet and it was impossible to reach, so I couldn't use it. It was handy to have a coffee maker and a microwave in the room, but it would have been nice to have a desk or at least a small table when having breakfast. I had to use the nightstand. I'm sure this could be easily fixed.

Lovely hotel with a great location in Little Italy. Walking distance to the waterfront, Downtown San Diego and Balboa Park. 3 blocks away from a trolley station. 10 minute car ride to the airport. The area is awesome, feels very safe at night with plenty of movement (though the room is quiet so no problem getting a good night's sleep). Many restaurants and coffee shops nearby which provide great options for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Room size is OK and a microwave is included. A/C unit working. Friendly staff.

TV not smart. Sink was outside the bathroom which was kind of weird but not problematic.

Location is really good. Trolly, Santa Fe station and Maritime Museum are all within walking distance. The hotel itself located in Little Italy. Staff are nice and helpful.

Quality of the room and their cost. Even though we booked months in advance, not sure if San Diego was kind of expensive. Queen size room is small but has a city view, bed is only suitable for one person. King room has larger bed but window is facing the wall of the next building.

Close to everything in Downtown SD. Bed was comfortable. Easy check in / out process. Nice staff. Very reasonable price.

Bathroom, specifically the shower, could have been updated. Was otherwise clean, including the toilet. Extra towels and toilet paper readily available. I thought the sink was in an odd place, and the distance between the faucet and the inner part of the sink had us spilling water all over the small countertop area when using it, but nothing horrible to write about. Parking can be a pain if you don’t want to do hotel parking, but for us it was just an annoyance. You can park on the street or in the little lots near the different shops and restaurants. Just be wary of overnight street sweeping and when the meters turn back on (8AM!). Had to wake up early to pay the meter (which only allows for a max of two hours).

Clean, close to transit and restaurants. Most of staff were friendly and helpful. Fridge and microwave were great to allow for adhoc meals in the room or lunch to go.

Bathroom fan had trouble getting rid of steam from shower. Had to open windows during the day to keep the room from getting musty. Luckily weather was good. Noise from the street was easily blocked out with A/C/fan. Lots of homeless in the area - sad but never felt unsafe. Have to go a ways for cheap eats.

Location was great, we walked to restaurants and to the pier. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. There was an elevator which was great because we were on the 4th floor. The staff at the front desk let us leave our luggage there while we walked around the pier and city since our plane didn't leave until later in the day. The front desk person also gave us good information on where to go to get a good breakfast and gave us several options.

The in-room coffee was not good.

Great location. All the bars/restaurants in Little Italy were right around the corner. Bed was comfy, albeit a little small. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room had a coffee machine (which we didn’t actually use), a fridge, hairdryer and ironing facilities.

Room was on the small side and aircon was really loud. Car park that was near, wasn’t that easy to use. Our phone number wasn’t registered properly so we had trouble getting in/out.

Everything was perfect to me! I came to the US for the first time for studying abroad. And this hotel was the very first place I stayed at in the US, and then I moved to the apartment on the following day. It was an auspicious beginning of my life in the US because I could enjoy and experience many things around the hotel. I could go around Little Italy so easily from this hotel and everything at the hotel was all I needed! Thank you very much for the incredible service!

Great price, excellent location, friendly staff, clean and modern.

Thin walls made it noisy, didn't love that the window faced the wall of another hotel making it dark in the room even in the middle of the day, and the lighting was odd... it was difficult to not disturb the person sleeping in the morning when getting ready because the only light was a very bright light over the sink in the room, or the bathroom light, which has a noisy fan that comes on with it. Fine for one night with an early morning flight out the next morning.. But I don't think I could do it for a longer stay.
