Staff very helpful and friendly, the room was lovely and the bed was absolutely huge, much bigger than a king-size, shower was a walk in which was a bonus. Great value for money.

Weird smell in corridor also it's the wrong side of the river hehe, we just got a bus over when we couldn't be bothered to walk, also, and this is just nitpicking, when we came down for breakfast I enquired if when you pay for the full hot buffet do you get to have a pick of the continental also.... The guy who dealt with breakfast either couldn't answer or didn't understand, I wanted 2 full breakfasts but with some of the continental too, he put us down for 1 full and 1 continental which was annoying, drinks at the bar are expensive too but again that's me just nitpicking.

Well, the rooms were spacious and very comfortable and so was the bed. Very quiet too, except for the numpties who held a discussion outside my room late at night (you seem to get them everywhere you go, what is it with people? Hardly anything the hotel can do itself). Luckily they moved off after about 15 minutes otherwise I would have had to say something. I didn't have breakfast, but it looked very good. Nice location near the Baltic Arts Centre and Sage Gateshead, so would be ideal if you were attending events at any of these places. Good access to the City Centre over the bridge close by - short walk down the hill from the hotel towards the river. I walked from the railway station myself, as I could manage it, but for those less mobile you might need to get a taxi from the station to be honest - plus the rebuilding works close by, at the time of my visit, seemed to affect some roads and pathways access - this may not be an issue in future years. Think this place is geared up more for those arriving by car to be honest. Now I know where it is, I would definitely use it again though.

Better signs as to the where the entrance was would have helped, as I had to walk round "3 sides of the square" to locate it, but hey the exercise did me good lol. As I said at the time of my visit there appeared to be building/demolition work going on nearby and so depending where you approached the hotel from then you might think you were going into an area a bit more grotty and run down than it actually was -- lots of renovation gone on already which was very evident. Other than that no significant real complaints to be honest as these were not issues the hotel could have done anything about (except signage obviously - even a brown sign to let you know you were going in the right direction, like most places do nowadays).

I was given a very large double bed room on the top floor (2 lifts) with accessible bathroom. I think mainly because there was a large Stag party staying and as a single, elderly lady they were trying to ensure I was not disturbed. Worked perfectly - never heard a thing once inside my room. All linen and towels perfectly clean. Good choice of breakfast items - nice to see Bircher along with the yogurts. Staff very friendly and pleasant.

Both chairs and Bed settee were stained, also stains on net curtains (not as important). Although close to the Quayside, The Baltic & The Sage, not much else around unless you go over the River (foot bridge close).

Close to the city and was clean and comfortable . The head breakfast lady serving on her own on our first day was wonderful and couldn’t do enough ( don’t lose her)

They don’t service your rooms daily as stated on your welcome form even the most budget hotels do that and when we asked for towels was an hour between the first and second visits to the front desk was a woman the first time then man and woman when I went the second time I had to show them their own form to get anything and then they were almost thrown at me through the door when they arrived not a whinge just how it happened

The staff make this hotel although all the facilities are also great. We used to stay at the travel inn with our dog but the facilities with a dog are none existent. This hotel has a section in their dining/bar area that you can go with your dog. it’s much nicer than eating in your room or eating on the go. the ladies at breakfast are incredibly efficient and friendly. Iv worked in hotels all my life and I can truly state it’s a gem. it’s no five star hotel but who needs 5 stars when you have exactly what you want with your fur baby in tow! 😊

some of the other guests can be a little loud.

Great staff, very comfortable and well appointed rooms, super location. We have been coming to this hotel for about 11 years and it is always my first choice in Newcastle Gateshead. This time we were travelling by bike and the staff provided secure indoor storage for the bikes overnight. I have lost count of how many times we have stayed here and we have never been disappointed. Surprised at what a great price we had on the rooms this time too. We do not usually have breakfast here, but we did this time (before setting off on our cycle tour) and the breakfast is also very good value.

Nothing. I would always choose this hotel first if we are visiting Newcastle.

Nice size room and bed. Husband found the divide in the bed a little uncomfortable if laid across but otherwise good. Room was clean and a nice temperature. Staff friendly and helpful —smooth check-in and out. Food was good in the HUB —we were unable to book a table in the restaurant (would have been handy to know at check-in there were two tours booked in that night), £15 for a burger and chips is a little pricey.

View of car park. Not enough tea and coffee etc for hot drinks —just 4 of each item. Restaurant was fully booked and HUB menu not very varied. Sockets only on one side of the bed. Pressure on shower not brilliant. It seems the hotel is used often by construction workers or something and so the HUB was quite full of people in work clothes and loud at times.

The Hotel is in the Heart of Newcastle on the Gateshead side of the River Tyne, right next to the Millennium Bridge / The Baltic Exhibition Venue and nearby Sage Gateshead Arena. The Hotel Restaurant provides an acceptable menu with options though a lot of other Restaurants are only 10mins away, mainly across the Millennium Bridge. The Room was spacious with Mini Sofa and expected Tea/Coffee Facilities and Toiletries. Reception said we were on the quiet top floor, which was appreciated. Fast efficient lifts made access a breeze. Nice Bar and Lounge area. The Breakfast had Cooked and Continental options - self service with excellent coffee machines providing a variety of coffee/lattes. Other egg options can be ordered if self-service fried egg is not wanted! Would Recommend

Nothing in particular of concern though be aware it is used by Stag/Hen/Birthday Parties at the weekend and would expect even busier when Football matches are on. Onsite parking costs £8 per night, which is quite normal, in Major Cities.

We had twin beds. Beds comfy . Room good size and easy to extra milks and coffee from reception. Good nights sleep both nights. Last year lots of building work other side to hotel so street very busy and work started early. This has all finished so no noise. Great position for hotel to get to the riverside and walk across the Millennium bridge to Newcastle side of river. Easy to get to the Baltic gallery, great exhibitions on.The famous Sage is quick walk away from hotel.

Reception outside doorway was a little dirty perhaps mopping the outdoor floor would improve look of entrance. We had twin beds, I didnt have a side light by my bed. Could do with little brake on castor as beds moved quite bit when sitting on it. Room great otherwise.

The hotel is nice and bright, looks to have been refurbished recently. Fairly well laid out

The beds were quite soft but enormous and it was very warm in the room with no way to adjust temp. Leaving a window open meant we could hear the town clock chiming every 15 mins!! Not good. The shower was a walk in but flooded the entire bathroom floor very quickly so be careful. Only one bedside light as well which is bizarre and once again, no central light. Anywhere. Trying to put my make up on in the morning and I tried all 3 mirrors and none had a light over it or near direct light. Hopeless
