Hotel Eden Palace au Lac

Very friendly staff. The location right at the shoreline and close to the city center are nice. The view onto the lake from our room was beautiful. The pool is also very nice, even though not very big. The hotel terrace is located right at the walkway at the shore of the lake and you can sit relaxed for drinks and food.

The carpets throughout the hotel are dated and that is clearly visible. Particularly the yellowish carpets in the reception hall and the hallways look quite horrible and are discolored, especially along the edges. The rooms are partly renovated and better than the first impression you get at the reception. However, the furniture, bathroom and carpet are still quite old and could use some overhaul. Nevertheless, overall our stay was pleasant.

Exceptional location. Even the Fairmont Montreux Palace does not have this extraordinary location, quiet, right on the water with a breath taking view, and a terrasse next to the lake walking path. No noisy street between the hotel and the lake. Some renovated rooms, good breakfasts, good restaurant Very pleasant staff willing to help, especially Estelle and Rosemarie at the reception. Gorgeous sunrise and sunsets from our balcony on the 3rd floor.

10 private 22CHF/ day parking spaces for 200 rooms / actual public parking close by / AC old and loud even in the renovated rooms / and even with that we still absolutely loved the place.

Beautiful hotel, good location. We got upgraded to a junior suite and view was spectacular. Room is very nice and clean.

Staff was unhelpful. We asked for help to bring our luggage to the room. Even though they have a few staff and no customers, no one wants to help and we ended up bringing all our luggages to our room. Same thing with check-out. We don't find much value for it. Disappointed with the front desk and no conceige service at such an expensive and high end hotel. Restaurant opens late so we ended up going outside of hotel for dinner.

Fantastic view from our balcony. Have stayed at this hotel previously on a number of occasions. The decor has been updated since our last visit pre-covid and public areas look calming and beautiful. It's a very quiet hotel and does not have the usual bustle in the hotel bar/restaurant but is a place for relaxation and sightseeing. Easy walk from railway station, lots of places to eat and drink close by and hotel is right on the Lake. Rooms are generously sized and very comfortable with a well equipped large bathroom.

Despite requesting early check in at the time of booking due to one of us being in poor health, our room wasn't ready when we arrived and we had to sit around for a few hours, which we haven't experienced here previously. Appreciate check in is 3.00 pm though and guests requests cant always be accommodated. Complimentary self service afternoon tea is no longer served in La Belle Epoque lounge, and we were only able to purchase hot drinks with no snacks from Chez Gaston/hotel bar during the day.

Simply for the quiet location on the lake with no road noise (lake facing room) and aircon which is very rare in Switzerland. Lovely view. Comfortable bed. Dinner and service was very good. Best bit of our stay.

It’s a bit open and empty in reception hall. Very strange. I got the feeling that staff get a hard time from guests as they seemed on the defensive before we had said anything and not enough of them on reception. The bathroom was very dated with shower curtain over bath and black mould in some of the grout. The aircon was so loud we couldn’t sleep with it on and we really coughs e used it as it was very hot. First hotel in 24 on this trip which couldn’t make a latte macchiato at breakfast and not up to spec for the cost. Have had far better for half the price.

Absolutely stunning hotel, the foyer and common areas are beautiful. The front of the hotel could be straight out of a Wes Anderson film. I booked two rooms, one standard single occupancy for myself and a delux lake view room for my parents. I was expecting a basic room for myself but it was huge and absolutely beautiful, so clean and restful. I had a huge balcony and I could see a glimpse of the lake even though it was supposed to be a city view only. I had a gorgeous bathroom and bathtub, with huge fluffy white towels. My parents room was stunning with a gorgeous lake view, a balcony with table and chairs. It was their wedding anniversary and the hotel had rose petals and swan shaped towels on the bed when they arrived. We had Hugo spritz on the terrace down by the lake in the evening and listened to a busker playing the accordion version of our favourite songs. We also availed of the breakfast buffet the next morning, which had hot food such as eggs, bacon and toast and also yogurt,fruit cereals and breads/pastries. It was perfect and the breakfast room is stunning. Overall I absolutely loved our stay and it was very reasonable prices for Montreux. Would love to come back again soon :)

The only thing, was the pool was out of use , which I had hoped to use. Hopefully will be in use next time we come back.

The hotel was a large, old world European Hotel, with great charm. It seems to have been refurbished recently. The grounds were beautiful, the location was amazing, right on the lake and central to the promenade, with all the restaurants. Easy walk to train and boat. Our room was quite large and spacious, and the bathroom had double sinks. It had a large public terrace facing the lake.

Sink design in bathroom didn't allow for resting soap, and no soap dish provided. Also, no A/C, and it was warm in room since it was 80°F. But they provided us with a fan, which helped.

The view was perfect as well as the location, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Good breakfast.

Poor room standard. Bedside lamp didn't work; air conditioning very noisy; poor toilet flush; toilet seat had to be fasten so as not to fall down; safety box not fastened so that anyone could simply take it with them; no mirror other than the one in the bathroom; hanger for trouses did not work; the power went out; decor was Ikea-like and wardrobe worn - below standard for the price and what you could expect from a 4-star hotel!

Location, location, location! We had a room with an amazing view of the lake it was exceptional! The room was nice and spacious with a great bathroom, the bed was comfy. Great check out time of 12!

Tea and coffee making facilities could have been provided and we didn’t get to use the pool as it was too cold in the morning before we left. We didn’t eat there at all so can’t comment on that. The walk from the train station with luggage was a bit much especially on the way back as some of it is up a fairly steep hill! Not cheap but comparable I think.
