Best Western Plus Hotel Mirabeau

Nice room- we paid extra for a room overlooking the lake/garden and so we were not facing the busy street. In retrospect the windows seemed tight enough that it wasn't necessary. When we first arrived- the hotel lobby was blazing hot- they had fans at the reception desk. Our room was hot but eventually we found it cool enough to sleep. A/c in Europe is not what we have in the US. the breakfast was very nice with hot/cold buffet and included in our room price. It was 25 CHF pp if not included. this was the most expensive room we had in Switzerland our entire 3.5 weeks- I liked the proximity to the train station which is why I chose this hotel. There is also a Movenpick nearby which is closer and likely less $. We stayed for 6 nights and the breakfast staff were wonderful- she even knew we wanted double expressos in the morning. This was the most expensive stay of our 3.5 weeks in Switzerland and I would say there is high value here.

Our shower was tiny but that was the case everywhere in Switzerland- otherwise the bathroom was nice. The reception staff was cold at best and sometimes seemed too busy to respond to our needs. I found a tick on my pillow after the first night of our stay and the response was "we will change all the bedding"- they do allow pets everywhere in Switzerland including this hotel- at this point I was tired enough to not ask for anything else but I did think it was kind of marginal compensation for finding a tick on my pillow. Dinner seemed overpriced so we never ate dinner here.

Bed was really comfy Location excellent: just few minutes from bus stop to down town Breakfast excellent with wide variety ... love the salmon ! Water w lemon in the reception Transportation card makes my stay easy !

Small room without balcony. I requested to change it whenever possible especially I was staying for 8 days, 2 different staff at reception refused as its not possible & this what I paid for !!! But it turned out that this was the only room without balcony. I really did not like their answer. 8 days stay is long period enough to promote me to a different room with balcony!

Amazing place - it's an old building, but it's precisely maintained to show its age with dignity, and to maintain it spirit at the same time with making guests feel super comfortable. From check-in to check-out, everything was superb: attentive and helpful staff, aid with parking, the room and the view, the building itself, the breakfast - I haven't had such a sublime hotel experience in a long while. And it's very decently priced, too. Highly recommend for staying in Lausanne.

They have a limited number of parking spaces in a garage across the road, so you might need to consider other options in advance (street parking or one of many Lausanne's parking garages) - though I'm sure hotel would help you if you reach out.

Beautiful historic building, and nicely decorated, even though it might seem a bit dated. Checked in late in the evening, and the staff was very helpful to assist us with storing the bikes overnight. The outdoor seating at the breakfast was really nice, and staff were all amazing! - specially the maître at the breakfast was very service minded and polite. We also got late check out until 3pm - which was great, since we hadn’t quite figured out out itinerary.

A huge thank you to the staff. I booked this for my mother and she felt really well looked after and the staff really went out of their way to provide a personal touch including sorting any issues straight away. These things are very important to me when booking for a family member. Also she reported very comfortable bed and she's a tough critic. She has informed me that this is the only hotel I am allowed to book her into now - we'll be back!

Absolutely nothing.

we had a nice family room with two separate bedrooms. high ceilings and a very large bathroom.

the location was walking distance to the train station and the subway. however, there was nothing around as you exit the hotel - need to take the subway to get to the lake or to the heart of old town with all the restaurants, etc. it was fine for us - we had Lausanne as the base and went to see the chocolate factory in Broc and Gruyeres by train, as well as Chateau du Chillon in Montreux.

The room is large and comfortable. It's only a 5-minute walk from the train station. The reception staff patiently introduced nearby attractions and restaurants. The information was very useful.

During my long stay, the room was not cleaned every day, which was a bit disappointing. If the bathroom window was opened for ventilation, many small bugs would fly in. I didn’t receive the diamond card membership gift either.

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel and unfortunately only for one night. Our family suite was really big and super comfortable. We even had a balcony. Despite being on a big street, we were on the fourth floor and we heard nothing. Breakfast was super yummy and staff all friendly. There is a possibility to park the car in a private parking, right opposite side of the hotel. Very safe. All was super. The hotel is really beautiful inside. Breakfast was free for our kids and transport tickets provided as well for free.

We liked everything! The hotel has a great location, the room was very clean, the bed was amazing, comfortable and cozy. The room had a good size with a nice balcony. The bathroom was excellent, from the shower to the facilities. We highly recommend this hotel! The staff was also sympathetic and welcomed us very well!

Amazing view from the balcony of Lake Geneva. Beautifully clean and comfortable bedrooms. Great location - easily walkable to the Lake, Ouchy, the train station and the shops and restaurants. Brilliant hotel staff. Very friendly & welcoming. Nice touches such as fruit in the room and extra coffee, tea and fresh milk when we requested it.

Nothing - it surpassed our expectations!
