Hotel Ultonia

Hotel Ultonia is located a 10 minute walk from the old town. As soon as you enter you feel calm as the decor is white and cool. The lovely receptionist who greeted us, Glenda, went above and beyond for our entire trip. She gave us great advise on what to see and how to get there. Service with a smile for Glenda was natural and it was lovely to meet someone who genuinely loved her job. She was the most friendly and helpful receptionist we came across on our travels. The rooms were bigger than we expected and we even had a balcony to sit out on that we didn't expect. We had two rooms and everyone agreed it was the best nights sleep of the trip. Excellent location, excellent staff. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very smart reception with highly professional staff. Great buffet breakfast with a really good selection of cereals, hot continental food, fruit, pastries, breads and condiments. Clean and comfortable rooms with nice views of the city and streets. Excellent bike storage room complete with bike "spa" (high power hose to clean off that Girona gravel)! Overall really impressed and it was a great spot for cyclists.

Walls were quite thin, to the point where we asked to move rooms due to noisy neighbours - we were seamlessly transitioned to a better room very quickly, which we were thankful for!

Great location - 10 mins walking distance from the train station and c. 4 mins walk to a big square that leads in to the Old Town, which means it's nice and quiet in the hotel itself. Rooms were a great size, comfortable bed and fabulous shower. All very clean. We did have breakfast there one day and there was a good selection of food choices, from cold to hot. All the staff were wonderful - incredibly helpful and friendly, despite the fact they were working over xmas eve, xmas day and boxing day. There are a couple of restaurants in a few seconds walk from the hotel, if you can't be bothered to walk the 4 mins to the square and beyond! All in all, I would happily stay there again if I was to return to Girona.

The rooms are slightly dated in terms of decor I guess but how large and comfortable they were more than made up for that.

The room was of reasonable size as was the bathroom. The breakfast was awesome and the location perfect for restaurants, bars and shops. The facilities for cyclists were first class.

The room had no natural light and the view was of the hotel air conditioning. The room did not have any coffee making facilities and the tightness of the car park presented a few challenges.

Very nice hotel very close to the Old Town. Parking at hotel but a little difficult to get to. Very large comfortable room. Young man at front desk was very helpful. We were very surprised at how big and nice Old Town was for walking late on a Saturday night.

Hotel is on a main street that is very busy until early morning on weekends. Ask for a room off the street because it is very noisy. A hot water kettle would be very nice as there is no coffee available until breakfast.

The reception area was modern and light and the staff on reception were polite, helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the terrace area on the 5 th floor which had lovely views.

Breakfast was not worth 14 euros, very little hot food available and not appetising. The breakfast room had an air of a canteen rather than a dining/breakfast room. Subsequently we went out for breakfast on our second day. The carpets in the hallways need a good clean and the bathroom was not very clean with cracked flooring.

We had a wonderful time at the Hotel Ultonia in Girona. We chose this hotel for its location near the train station and Old Quarter. We found this hotel very affordable and in a very popular location. We didn’t choose any of the hotel dining options, but they do offer a breakfast option. We found many good restaurants nearby to enjoy. The room was up to date and met our expectations, but much smaller than what you would find in the new world.

For us Girona's a good one night stopover when we drive down from SW France to SE Spain for early Spring and late autumn breaks. Lovely old city with interesting architecture, good tapas bars and some excellent restos. It was our first time in this hotel, but would go back. Only a few minutes walk from the old city, which has good restos and where the following morning, one can have breakfast in the square and people watch.

Not the hotel's fault! My wife made the booking and hadn't reserved parking. We parked in the underground car park opposite the hotel, which was expensive!

Great breakfast - we liked very much the idea of introduction of local products to the menu. Very helpful staff. Hotel has a very nice nice terrace on the top of the building. Also the location of the hotel was very good.

Strange smell in the room, when we entered. Definitely the room needs some redecoration and it was kind of small.

Good breakfast with a lot of options to choose from. The room was good and the air conditioning worked just fine. The location of the hotel is perfect when going to the old part of town. 5 minutes walk.

The ventilation on the bathroom could be better.
