The price was a steal. We paid so little and received such a relaxing place, beautiful looking, clean and with towels, yukata, brushes… everything was there. Such a lovely place and in a style of a ryokan. The futons were so fluffy. Loved it!!
There was some mould in the shared shower. The fan in the room was a bit loud but we didn’t notice it too much as we were very tired.

Clean, comfortable bedding. Walking distance to train station, convenience stores like Family Mart and 7eleven, and lots of dining options nearby. Although toilet and shower were communal, it still felt private as the property is quiet. Good value for money. We stayed in the room for 3 people and are very happy with it. Coffee downstairs is really good and the natural baked goods are very yummy especially the scones and muffins. This property looks so much better in real life. Photos don't do justice.
Considering the price, there isn't anything I can and want to complain about! Rooms aren't big but that's Tokyo for you. Reminds me of Paris which offer about the same type of space.

Comfy futon and heavy duvet - luxurious for winter. Yukata is a must for shared toilets and showers. They also provide house slippers. You can book a private hot tub - fits one, for a soak after a long day of walking and shopping. There's a cafe downstairs and a water dispenser on the ground floor. Huge plus- elevator ! Our room was on the 4th floor - and we have heavy luggage from our whole week of travel. We arrived early and we left our luggage there to go around, looking for lunch and window shopping. Lots of restaurants and bars in the area, the biggest plus - located just a short walk to Ikebukuro station for many major metro line transfers.
Could be better if we have a kettle in the room for tea/coffee. Could be better if there was a water dispenser at every floor rather than just on the ground floor.

It is close to Ikebukuro Station, which connects to a lot of lines so there's a lot of option to go out from there. Ikebukuro itself is pretty nice to explore. The room is nice, it's a nice tatami room with a futon, it isn't fancy by any means, but you get to experience living with in a tatami room and futon, it feels very traditional. They clean your room every 3 days, there's a shower and bathroom in every floor. No complaints so far. I haven't had a chance to try their cafe because I always wake up late and never eats breakfast, but from the pictures it looks nice.
The toilet is a bit cramped on the 4th floor, I don't really see the point of having a urinal and a toilet. It takes up a lot of space for the toilet and making it hard to use, I would love to just have a slightly bigger toilet space without the urinals.

Overall excellent ryokan experience. Shower and facilities were clean, there were two on each floor that sharing is not an issue. We got to book the ofuro while we were there, relaxing time. Staff very friendly and willing to help. Location is convenient enough, short distance to a transit hub and local restaurants.
The washer and dryer was located outside (on the third floor). Because it’s not air conditioned the low-power dryer didn’t work at all during winter. After an hour and half of tumble drying, I took the moist load to a local 24h coin laundromat to finish off.

Once you know how to get there, it's really easy to find. I loved the hot bath. The cafe's breakfast is really nice. I really like the room. Everything was really clean and beautiful. There's also a lift in the accommodation. But there are stairs to the lift. There's a small fridge on every level, shared toilet (SO CLEAN), shared shower (ALSO SO CLEAN). Toothbrush set, Q-tips, shampoo, body soap & conditioner provided. There's even a water dispenser and microwave oven at the shared area. Remember to return your tray after use at the cafe. I totally forgot to (because it's a thing in my home country to just leave the utensils at the table) and only remembered the next day. There are also many restaurants within walking distance, and 2 local supermarkets.
I wish I had known there were steps leading down to the accommodation. It'll be great if there was a slope so I didn't have to carry the luggage and could wheel it instead. The walls are thin, I could hear my neighbour talking on the phone and the travellers upstairs having a conversation if I opened the window. But the walls are typical of most Japanese accommodations and not a big issue. Most people are quiet.

Great ryokan, very Clean and friendly staff. The Location ist also great! Leave ikebukoro Station through the West Gate and you can find a Lot of great Restaurants and izakaya around the Area on your ca 8min Walk to the ryokan. We would book this ryokan again! Almost Perfect stay!
Our rooms 301 was rigth beside the washing Machine Area and people used those at night , also the light for the washing Area was right besides a bathroom, and was mistakenly pushed on and left on by other guests. The light then iluminated brigthly into our room multiple times, we advise to maybe add a small Note to it If you get that room.

Oh my gosh, this was such a fun stay and a truly interesting experience. Sleeping on the tatami mat floors felt both authentic and comfortable. The staff were SO kind and helpful. Loved the coffee at the Kimi Cafe in the sunken eating area in the morning. Didn't get the chance to try the traditional Japanese bath but must do so on a return visit! The floor's shared showers were very clean and so was the room itself. Cool view from the rooftop. Awesome location in the up-and-coming Ikebukuro area; minutes from delicious food, a 6-story arcade, the subway, and more. Just a great all-around experience and the price was phenomenal.

A quaint accommodation with very friendly staff. It's traditional in the sense that the beddings and rooms are tatami-lined and their futons were very comfortable. The place is a cafe in the morning, but guests could commune and relax around the shared dining area at night. The location is quite good as well - 5 minutes to the nearest train station. Overall we felt very safe and welcomed there!
One of the bathrooms on the second-floor has a very strong mold odour. But since there are other bathrooms on the same floor and other floors, it was an easily avoidable issue for us. But hopefully this feedback can prompt the owners to take a look into it.

Perfect location (3 minutes walk from Ikebukuro metro station), great facilities for budget hotel (shared fridge, microwave, coin laundry, traditional Japanese bath, small café, rooftop) and very nice & helpful staff! Thank you!
Probably the room just a bit small for 2 people and because we had the room next to laundry space, there was a bit of the light for the whole night and occasionally smelled cigarette (laundry space is also smoking space)
