Pensione Guerrato

Very big rooms, very clean and comfortable and great breakfast included. Also very close to the rialto bridge. We walked to the propery from the train station but caught the river taxi on the way back which is just round the corner from pensione. Really enjoyed our stay here and the air conditioning was a great feature in the summer heat. We were a big family with young children and the owners/staff were so lovely to deal with definitely felt like they went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable

Nothing would highly recommend Pensione Guerrato

My room was well-appointed and spacious. The hotel is located not far from the docks, and every morning there is a market in fresh seafood and fresh fruits and vegetables, which are especially good and welcome. Breakfast is plentiful and good, with everything a traveller may require from a Continental breakfast. I'm aware that coffee is more usual than tea in Italy (generally speaking), but I am always partial to a cup of tea, and the hotel provides these in spades. The bed is very comfortable. Unfortunately, my room was invaded by a few mosquitos at night - but I asked the hotel staff for the remote control to the air-conditioning, which helped drive the mosquitos away.

Everything was excellent here, honestly. The stairs were steep and there are no lifts, but unfortunately the hotel cannot install lifts, so obviously that's not a flaw. I really enjoyed my time here, and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Venice.

very kind & helpful staff, excellent selection for breakfast, location was very convenient (right next to a water bus station and the Rialto bridge), and good size bathroom in our room. We were very pleased with the accommodations given it’s only a 1 star hotel.

unfortunately the area is pretty loud at night (nightlife right outside) and we had to sleep with the windows open because it stays pretty warm in the rooms so we heard chatter most of the night but we brought a noise maker and we’re able to sleep just fine. This wouldn’t effect us staying again but it’s good to know ahead of time.

EVERYTHING! The location is brilliant - central for exploring everywhere in Venice - a stones throw from the Rialto Bridge - yet a quiet haven once inside their doors. The decor is ‘old style’ Venetian; charming and atmospheric but with super modern bathrooms and everything spotlessly clean. the breakfast is wonderful making for a great start to a busy day’s sightseeing. The real strength of the hotel however lies in their amazing staff - all so helpful, friendly and welcoming. Well done to a great team - you helped make our stay in beautiful Venice unforgettable. We have stayed here before because we love the location, just off the Grand canal, and close to Rialto bridge with an easy walk to St. Mark's. Wonderful places to eat a few winding streets away from tourist crowds in little back area plazas. The vaporetto stop is 3 minutes away. The breakfast is great, and a good place to meet other travelers. Don't miss a visit to the fish market nearby, full of creatures you might never see again. !

They have two sets of stairs, typical for Italy. Being age 78, we made it fine with two carry ons & backpack.

For our family of four, the family room ( #32) we had was spacious, functional, well-organized and cared for. It was really nice feeling to enter the air-conditioned, spotless, tidy room at the end of long, hot, sticky day. We appreciated it very much! We enjoyed watching/listening the people in the plaza every morning from our room. When we were in the room in the morning and evening, we just turned off the AC and opened the windows to have immersive feelings. Staff/owner were all approachful professional, took their jobs seriously. The breakfast timeslot worked well. Well attended/served by kind, wonderful staff. Ask anything with respect, they are all wonderful. If they are aware of any problem, they will find a way. The location was fantastic close to the water bus stop, (1 min.) where we didn't have to drag the luggages over the bridges and bricks. Local fruits/fish market right there. Lots of restaurants/shops. It was better than some of four stars hotels who didn't run the place well or took a forever to fix the problem.

Suggestion: Perhaps having different menu in every two or three days? By the day 3 morning, I wish that there were some different stuff. Having said, there were plenty food to start a day. Thank you!

Rather than stay in the big samey hotels we wanted an authentic taste of Venice and we certainly got that at Pensione Guerrato. It was like going back in time, the staff were very helpful and breakfast was really nice and plenty to keep us going for the morning. We stayed in the Attic Room which was basic but clean and comfortable.

The Attic Room bedroom was a bit too basic and needed a couple of comfortable chairs and perhaps a small book case with a selection of books as there is no TV. I read on their website that there were 50 stairs to the top when in fact there were 86.

Beautifully decorated rooms, very clean with all modern facilities inside the rooms including universal charger plugs. Friendly service, fantastic location!

One evening, when returning after 8pm we had to ring the bell for 4-5.mins before someone could let us in. There is a keypad on the wall - why not provide guests with a code so they can open the hotel entrance themselves? More options for eggs for breakfast instead of just boiled eggs. Also more healthy options like musli or different kinds of fruit.

perfect location and good facilities, breakfasts were exceptional

we knew about the hideous stairs but had expected as discussed some help getting suitcases up. impossible for us. All assistance refused ‘not part of the service’ and no solution offered at all, except leave bags in lounge and use stuff as needed! so we asked a local restauranter to help. However on departure the manager actually helped unasked but with bad grace. The attitude and subsequent cold shoulder really spoiled it for us

Perfectly situated near the Rialto Bridge, we couldn't have found a better hotel. Thanks to a friend for recommending it. Staff was friendly, good breakfast. When I made the reservation, they told me there was no elevator and 65 stairs to our room. We are in our 70s and although active, I responded that probably wouldn't ŵork for us after sightseeing all day. They immediately rearranged our room to a lower floor. The building is from about 12th century and filled with antiques. Just charming.
