Mercure Hotel Aachen Am Dom

Hotel is located quite close to the city centre so there was no problem for us to walk there for the dinner and general walk. We had a big corner room, with the view to the square. Beds were really good, everything worked pretty okay. Staff was friendly and we had no problem at all.

Parking is 5 mins from the hotel in the multi-level garage. It seems to be very popular for shopping, but during the night it was empty there and around, didn't feel very safe. Parking was very narrow and I struggled to manoeuvre from one level to another. Also we had to bring our suitcases with us from there (though maybe we didn't see option to stop in front for a minute). Another small problem was that there were some buses and police cars passing during the night and it was a bit noisy.

Location - close to public transport, shops, eating places and Aachen”s historic centre. Rooms - nice to have a kettle? Shower was good with lovely neroli and bergamot toiletries. Breakfast - great choice for the continental offerings. Staff - friendly and efficient

Lack of bar - we saw a little bar but it never appeared to be open lack of in-room info - only available when a QR code scanned in.

Location was good, rooms were above 3 stars. The free 5 daily drinks was a good idea. Didn't try their breakfast and food unfortunately. But based on the location, you can try interesting places for food nearby.

They didn't have fridge in the rooms. Location was good for the accessibility and being nearby to good cafe, restaurant and bars. But the outside noise and people talking outside, specifically during the midnight was a little annoying.

my plane was delayed and I was supposed to arrive late, around midnight. when I tried to contact hotel no one picked up the phone. then I contacted booking.com support - their specialist that she reached someone who spoke only German and she hoped that they got the message. so, I was worried I would get closed hotel doors in the middle of the night. it worked out well at the end though

The reception was super friendly and efficient for my late evening check-in. I appreciate that the hotel sent me directions and a street address to the hotel parking garage before my stay. The breakfast was also excellent with plenty of choices and is well attended.

Nothing really - the hotel took into account my request to have a room on the quieter side of the building this time as sometimes it's not available and it is quite noisy on the street side of the building.

I have stayed here many times in the past and it continues to meet my expectations. The friendly reception caters to my requests on side of the hotel and the breakfast is immaculately attended!

For some reason the price has gone up more than 50% since the last 2 times I have stayed with nothing special going on in town. At these exorbitant rates, unfortunately, I will have to start staying somewhere else.

The staff were really nice and attentive (Gedeon was especially great and super helpful). It was my wedding anniversary, I informed the hotel at the booking, they had prepared the room with nice decorations and a message wishing us a happy anniversary, with a small gift prepared for us. That was really thoughtful and unexpected of the hotel.

Nice central hotel with basic needs, car parking close by, extra sofabed for kids available free of charge, fruit platter and some sweets on arrival in the room. There is a fridge in the lobby where you can find food snacks and drinks.

Adding a mini bar to keep your foodstuff and drinks that you may bring fresh and cold. Especially when you have small children that need a snack.

Because the hotel we previously booked was not up to our standards, we were very happy that the Mercure Hotel could give us a room for the rest of our stay on very short notice. The location was very good and close to the city center. The room was also very big and had a bathtub.
