Hotel Saint Georges

It was a very nice place, rooms are clean en there is enough space for our kids! Towels are there en the beds are good. Woman at the reception was flexibel en helpful. ThnkZz for staying. John

Nice apartment almost! The reception staff are TOP! Friendly and helpful, merci 😘. The breakfast was good even though it was delivered in a basket to the appartement. A selection of fresh bread and croissants with jambon de Paris (😑) and another cold meat. Cheese, butter, honey (good quality) and jam were included along with some grapes. Yoghurt and bottled apple juice filled the basket. The room had it own coffee machine, kettle and plenty of coffee doses and teas available. If you needed more coffee, tea or milk all you have to do is ask… This was close to what I normally eat so no problem for me. I don’t know if they serve a cooked breakfast or if hot chocolate is available. The appartement had its own dishwasher and fridge along with the cutlery and crockery you need. The bed was large and comfortable but I didn’t like the pillows.

I’m totally confused as to why this complex is called a Hotel and how it can pretend to be a Five Star Hotel. The price is a good 10% over the top for quality/price. It’s an Airbnb style complex with perfect staff. Newly refurbished ancient building but the rushed work is failing. Dear landlord please look at the bathroom ceiling - plaster fail. Strange rating system in Troyes 🤔

Easy to find central location. Quirky flat on the top floor of a medieval building, lots of fun features and all the modern amenities. Comfy beds (bedlinen has seen better days though). We didn't book breakfast because we felt it was a rather basic offering for the price (18 euros pp).

Even though we arrived well within 8pm check in deadline the reception was closed and once, after a phone call, a receptionist turned up her attitude was not very friendly, they appeared to be not happy to deal with us. Still, we got the keys and were shown to the room, so no harm done. Also please note it is not a 5 star hotel, of course, just nice furnished rooms.

Dog friendly ❤️ great location in Old Town. 4 hours drive to chanel tunel, so great stop over from Italy. The most comfortable bed we have ever slept on. Breakfast is delivered in a French basket to your door at 8am.

The wet room was very wet, I had to rescue my shower water as it flowed along almost the door with a squeegee! Quite a few bulbs missing, so quite dark. Couldn't open the curtains as windows open onto smoking terrace. Too much pigeon poop on terrace, although the cleaners were doing their best to sweep and mop it up.

This was a great room in an old converted town house. There was a shared terrace to sit at and the location was central. The room was a very good size and had a small kitchenette with fridge, microwave and hob. The bathroom was well appointed. The bed was large and very comfortable.

There was parking available but an extra 20 euros seemed excessive and so we parked on the street as we were only there overnight and so paid or a few hours in the afternoon and then again in the morning only costing 5 euros in total.

Receptionist was friendly and helpful, also when we changed our arrival time. Our room was a beautifully renovated old style one, with lovely furnishings and modern shower/bathroom. Comfy bed. Within 5 minute walk to central part of Troyes. Limited parking available inside complex- only possible if your car is a small/normal size/ mine barely squeezed in, but grateful to be able to park here.

If I had to nit-pick the pillows were a bit too high for my liking, so it might be nice to have a few different types available.

Apartment was great for space when travelling with 3 children. We stopped overnight on the way to the Alps. Lovely historic restored building with pleasant atmosphere. Breakfast basket was nice with local produce. Friendly staff. Location was perfect to walk into Troyes for a meal and look around.

It is an appartement rather than traditional hotel set up, we were happy with this but it is not completely clear on booking (although this is explained on notice in the room).

The location was in the medieval city which is lovely to walk around. There were lots of restaurants close by for our evening meal. It was also within a short walk of a supermarket so we were able to purchase provisions. The apartment gave us more room than a conventional hotel room. The hotel supplied an ample breakfast to enjoy in our room or in the courtyard. There was enough to take with us for lunch! I remembered to reserve a parking space in the courtyard, which was very convenient.

I booked two nights on the way to a holiday in Haute Savoie. Emma the receptionist rang earlier in the day to confirm my arrival time and she was nice & friendly. The entrance into the parking courtyard is a bit tight (enter straight, not at an angle) and she helped to guide me into the courtyard. We loved the renovation of the old buildings that make up Hotel Saint Georges and our self-contained 1 bedroom + separate small living with sofa bed & kitchenette was exactly what we were looking for. A delicious continental style breakfast was delivered in a basket each morning, outside our door. The breakfast was really excellent with croissants, bagette, honey from the beehive in the courtyard, ham, cheese, jams, fruit, milk, bottled water & apple juice. Both the main bed & the sofa bed were comfortable (100% cotton sheets), the shower room was equipped with towels & liquid soaps and most importantly, there was plenty of hot water. The curtain poles prevent the windows in the living/kitchenette/sofa bed area from opening much so the hotel had installed a basic AC unit which was great for reducing temperatures but would be too noisy for use at night. The aparthotel is a short walk from the main restaurant area & the centre of Troyes where you can find the covered marche at Les Halles. It was really nice to stay in an aparthotel with character & charm which the modern hotels in Troyes lack, we loved being able to enjoy the delicious breakfast at the table by the kitchenette which meant we had privacy and could make our own coffee in our polycarbonate cafetiere (light & doesn't break btw) although there is a pod coffee machine with a provided supply of pods & milk. There is also a fridge with mini freezer section (so we could re-freeze our ice-packs for our coolbag) and a microwave.

The negatives: 1) the extract fan was broken in the separate loo/toilet and wasn't fixed during our stay (was fixed a few days later) 2) the cleaners clearly don't bother to look under the main bed so there was lots of dirt/dust 3) the shower water was slow to drain away (this was fixed before our return visit 3 weeks later) 4) the shower unit needs replacing and the owner told me he intends to do this this November. 4) The apartment lacks hanging space although there is a chester drawers, we hung clothes from doors & light fittings. The broken loo/toilet extract fan was the only thing that I was specifically unhappy about.

The hotel is very old, quirky and we felt part of the history of this wonderful town. Located in a quiet street but only a short walk from the bustling centre and its bars and restaurants. Our room was massive and our two dogs were very comfortable too!

My only criticism was the temperature of the hot water which was dangerously hot - I burned my arm on the hot tap!
