Hotel Relais Saint Jean Troyes

The location was excellent and the added bonus of parking for 12€ per with direct access to the hotel. Staying at this hotel you certainly don’t need your car to explore the city. There are excellent restaurants, shops and the buildings are all very historical.

Our room was large but a bit dated and could do with an updated bathroom and we found cobwebs! The beds were very comfortable and everything else was clean and the bedding changed daily. There was air conditioning which we needed. The room was very quiet as our room looked out on to other buildings at the back, even though the hotel is located in the hear of the city.

The location is superb: right in the middle of this ancient city. The welcome from the reception was also superb: a good and pleasant English speaking young man who told us about what was available for our stay. The breakfast although expensive at 17 euros was wonderful and worth the expense as we dispensed with lunch after it: glorious array of cooked meats, lovely cheeses and even a cooked breakfast if the English demanded it: scrambled egg, sausage and bacon.

It was not really the hotel's fault but the parking arrangements were in the parking for the Hotel de Ville. The signage to get there and the one way streets were a nightmare and we went around several times before Google maps got us there. Once there it was great as there was an area designated only for the hotel guests.

Great value for money at 130 euros per night right in the centre of Troyes and literally 2 minutes walk into the main plaza area. Rooms were a little tired perhaps but I'm nit picking when you factor in the value for money. Incredibly comfy beds worth a mention. Very friendly and helpful staff and onsite secure parking. Breakfast was very good also. Would stay again.

When you factor in value for money no complaints at all.

Charming property in the heart of Troyes. Plenty of restaurants, bars and shops within a few steps from the hotel and yet the rooms are very quiet. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The private parking was very useful, especially considering the location. The jacuzzi situated in a medieval cellar was a great experience and totally worth the price. I would definitely book this hotel again.

The room was a bit small but it's reasonable considering the age of the building. The breakfast is a bit pricey for what it is so we decided not to take it

Very close to the old streets of Troyes. The room was a good size with a modern rainfall shower. Large flat screen TV. We were in a comfort room which had no view to speak of. Despite the busy central location the room was very quiet. The car park on-site was secure.

We looked straight out onto another old building but you get what you pay for. The shower didn’t drain properly but the staff quickly sorted this. Breakfast was expensive so we chose to eat out

excellent find. It was right in the middle of the old town with many restaurants, shops and attractions close by within walking distance. Also close to the market which is superb for fresh and local produce. The floors were serviced by a lift which is always a good thing. Breakfast was great with an excellent selection of things to chose from. Best of all was the secure underground parking - although part of the town parking the hotel had its dedicated spaces near the lift access to the hotel direct from the underground parking. Very safe and secure.

There was not much to complain about.

Staffs were incredibly helpful! we arrived later than expected, around 7pm, after a long drive. We were able to get late check out, so we can sleep in and rest. We used the hot tub to relax before bed time also. (Book in advance as you get one hour slot all for yourself- 20 euros only for all family!)

The only tricky thing which isn't this hotel's fault is the parking. Most of buildings in Troyes are built pre-4x4 era, so ceiling are super low. So the parking this hotel is attached to isn't accessible for bigger SUV with 2m height. But there is one nearby, Parking Langevin, which has about only 4-6 spots for SUVs, which we were lucky to get one. It was only 5 min walk to this hotel. (and only about 10 euros for overnight parking)

The first hotel on this trip, where the “local parking“ was actually true. Don’t get worried about a different address for the parking: it is the same building from another entrance hotel is right in the centre, in a pedestrian area, surrounded by lovely, old buildings, and large number of restaurants.  All the important churches et cetera are in walking distance. The breakfast was amazing.

Fantastic location. Great midpoint for driving from England to the alps. Perfect town location for walking around the medieval town and loads of restaurants. Car parking underground. Very good breakfast. Very helpful and friendly staff. Would definitely go there again.

The shower in the bathroom was half broken; still worked but only the rainfall shower. Not really a problem.

Perfect location in the centre of Troyes. Step out the door in the historic heart of the town. There's a Michelin* restaurant within 2 minutes walk - excellent value and worth trying. Car Parking underneath the hotel - just be aware the entrance is in a different street to the Hotel entrance - we found Google Maps got us there, whereas our friends car SatNav struggled - there's a lot of narrow streets and one-ways. The indoor food market is certainly worth a visit too.

At this time - having to go a Covid Test Centre for our return to UK. Apart from that - nothing.
