Hôtel Saint Jean

Lovely quaint hotel perfectly located for access to the old city. Very authentic French hotel with lovely staff who could not have been more friendly and helpful to us especially to our 4 year old son. The breakfast was excellent and we were very comfortable throughout our stay. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was very nice too.

When we arrived our room felt smaller than a standard hotel but once we were settled we were very comfortable and did not feel it was too cramped. There were couches/ a lounge area outside our room where we could sit and our son could play with his toys.

This is a little gem of a place! At first you may think the rooms seem tiny, but you soon discover that the space is really cleverly used and you are very comfortable indeed. Everything is impeccably clean, the beds are really comfy, the showers are brand new and, contrary to what other reviewers have said, the two rooms we stayed in were pleasantly air conditioned. As others have commented, the staff are wonderfully attentive, to the extent that when the croissants at breakfast had run out, the lovely lady who runs the hotel, sprinted out across the road to get some more. The breakfast is simple, but delicious, with the fresh croissants, crusty baguettes, cheese, yoghurt, jam, cereals and huge pots of hot chocolate.

A little more light in the rooms would have been good.

This was my 3 time in this hotel everything about it is amazing the friendly family stuff the always helpful and friendly the location in the heart of the old center city is the best everything is near by walking a few minutes the room is comfortable & clean but i suggest to have a small fridge and kettle

The staff were lovely. The lady at reception gave me access to store my bike away for the night. Breakfast was plenty and good. The only thing that I could have wanted was a thicker blanket on the bed because with the bad weather this summer I was a bit cold

The personel was very nice and the bathroom in the room was lovely and very clean and modern. Very nice breakfast, and only a few minutes walk from the beautiful old town.

There was a single small window at the ceiling level in the room, which hardly aired out anything, so the atmosphere got a little hot and stuffed.

The location is excellent, right in the historic district of Tours. Everything is reachable by walking. Just drop the car on the convenient parking in front of the hotel. and go discover the lovely city of Tours. The pedestrian's streets closed by are full of great restaurants. A special thanks to the staff which are so lovely and so helpful. It made our short trip to Tours a real blast for the family. The breakfast is very good too with great products. We will certainly stay at Hotel Saint Jean next time we are in Tours and encourage anyone to do the same.

Good location. Friendly and helpful welcome. Comfortable and well-equipped rooms.

The only window in the room looked out onto an external corridor so it wasn't practicable to open the window or leave the curtains open. So it was necessary to run the air conditioning to get a comfortable temperature.

only one of the 4 light bulbs in bathroom worked and if you leave the window open in the front of the hotel the noise on Friday night Saturday morning is not 😊

A vending machine or some way of buying drinks in the evening/early morning before breakfast would have been handy.

This is a budget hotel and so the rooms are rather basic and the decor is tired. Nice new showers though. Steep stairs up to the rooms.
