Hotel De La Treille

The staff were fantastic and really added to the enjoyment of our stay. Manu helped us book restaurants and just generally chatted to everyone, making the main reception area feel like a place we wanted to sit a while and have a drink. The hotel is very well appointed and the rooms are reception area are luxuriously decorated with comfortable king sized beds.

The size of the room was an issue for us. At 9ft 2 inches squared there was little room to move without bumping into each other and the wardrobe storage was open but so shallow that clothes were sticking out into the corridor adding to the feeling of being cramped. The big issue is that the room was so small there was nowhere to sit and work (though you can use the tables in the reception area

The hotel is centrally located for everything - public transport, sightseeing, bars and restaurants are a few minutes walk away. It is a very welcoming and pretty hotel. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. The room wasn't huge but perfect for a couple and the bathroom was a good size. There are many shops nearby as well as grocery shops. The train station is a 10 minute walk and we managed to fit in a day trip to Bruges whilst there. There is no parking at the hotel which is not too different to most city hotels but there is a public car park just a 2 min walk way - not cheap but very convenient.

Beautiful hotel ideally located in the heart of the city, in a quaint cobbled street giving onto a small square. The bedroom is elegant, very well furnished and with views on a quiet inner courtyard. Bed linen was very comfortable and great overall design. Very welcoming guests on the front desk, including for late arrival.

Bedroom was not so well sound proofed, and as such I could quite clearly hear the neighbours next door, which is not very pleasant. Maybe it was just a one off but that. is the only thing I did not enjoy.

The hothel is very cosy and the location is excellent (just next to an underground parking and meters away from shops and cafés). Staff was very friendly. The breakfast was not exceptionnal but a good value for the price.

The rooms are quite small, as it can be seen in the pictures (it did not come as a surprise and it is normal for a hotel in a historical centre). The equipment of the room was disapointing -it was the bare minimum. Our bathroom was starting to show clear signs of wear and tear.

All the Staff were lovely, very polite, attentive, warm and friendly. Exceptionally helpful, with making our stay most enjoyable. The Hotel De La Treille was beautifully decorated, tasteful interior design, exactly what we hoped for. The Location was perfect!

Breakfast: On arrival we were asked to make a decision if we wanted breakfast over the next 3 days at a cost of 20 euros per person, per day. Initially we said, "No thank you" but we were tired from our journey, and we were asked to make the decision there and then, which we understood to be due to the events (Le Braiderie) taking place for that weekend. However, we would have liked the choice of having breakfast or not, a Full Breakfast or a Smaller Breakfast. At 20 euros per person per day over 3 days = 120 euros which we feel is little too expensive if you only need a small breakfast.

This is a beautifully located hotel in the heart of the old city, just right for walking around all the major sites. It is an easy 15 minute walk from the Eurostar terminal and easy to find. It looks out onto a square at the front and the cathedral at the back. There are many bars, cafes and restaurants within a few minutes walk. The reception area is comfortable and well decorated. The staff were very welcoming and helpful - lots of good advice on places to eat etc. Others have said that the rooms are small, but they are more than an adequate size for a short visit - after all, you are just using them to sleep and change in! The bathroom is well appointed and the shower warm and powerful. The bed was very comfortable. We were not bothered by noise, but I can imagine that might be an issue in a busy period with people walking about in the square below - but that's what city life is like! Given the location I don't think it is overly noisy. Breakfast is available, but we didn't have it, so can't comment (we ate at the Paddo Cafe by the cathedral - highly recommended).

There is no air conditioning, which wasn't a problem for us in April, but might be in the summer. We requested a late checkout, which was confirmed, but wasn't available on the day. However, the reception staff looked after our bags and so we were able to do some final sightseeing (the reception staff were very helpful)

Nice location, in the old city centre. Very friendly and professional staff. Good beds.

I requested for a room without carpets (not available), the receptionist confirmed me that the carpets were very clean and new. Once arrived, I noticed stains and found an old bottle of sunscreen on the floor (in March - wondering how long it has been there) = get a better hygiene level. Very small rooms.

Good location, stylish decoration, good quality bed linen and towels. Option of an "express" breakfast with just coffee, juice and croissants was appreciated. Staff were extremely nice and helpful.

Our room (No 34) was rather hot as no air conditioning, but a good fan was provided. There was some noise from the garden of the bar next door so difficult to sleep with the window open.

Great location - right in the city center, close to restaurants, bars and stores. We didn't order breakfast - there are bakeries nearby. Great bed with a hard mattress. Curtains are thick, do not let the light in.

It's warm in the summer, there's no air conditioning, but you can open a window. The corridor smells of cigarettes. The room is not new, but very clean. The windows faced the square, it was noisy in the evening. But we were ready because the location of the hotel was important.

Superb location: right in the heart of the old town, but my room backed onto the cathedral park, so felt surprisingly peaceful. Really friendly staff: low-key, informal, helpful and welcoming.

Room was a bit small, but it is France and it is the old town and I did book a single, so not really fair to expect anything bigger.
