Kempinski Hotel Soma Bay

Everything was perfect! The room service, thanks to Mohammed was really excellent with nice beauty products and lovely good-bye gift. The tour guide of the hotel snorkeling tour also did a great job, it was one of our favorite activity! Thanks to the front office our booked tours were smooth with the kindly packed and healthy breakfast boxes. In addition, during the evening we have seen dessert foxes in the hotel garden, which was absolutely amazing to witness in person! Thanks a lot for everything, we loved our stay there!

Close to the hotel, in front of Baladina restaurant in the port area the sea is full of plastic bags. Please be so kind and clean it up even if it doesn't belong to the hotel, but it belongs to our Earth and we are responsible to keep it healthy and clean. Thanks a lot in advance!

Food quality and varieties is exceptional. One of the richest and tastiest buffets that you will keep in mind as a benchmark. There are different sites for dining tables, chose the few ones outside of the restaurant (outdoor area) if you want more quiet spot still with exceptional view of the pool, beach, mountains behind. I really enjoyed the scene from there a lot. Or you can dine outside of the restaurant (indoors) enjoying the airconditioned area with the lovely scented vanilla air freshner that is used in the lobby area around. The beach is sandy with 2 -4 meter shallow water (suitable if you have kids) then goes deep gradually if you want to swim. there are few corals after the swimming rob area so you can enjoy a little bit of snorkeling there too :). Don't miss the floating river with the floating, it is a very nice relaxing and fun too, :) Kids' pool is shaded which is great for kids and moms as well :) Water bottles are supplied on daily basis to your room and with the beach towel. Rooms size is great with a nice view even selecting the lagoon view, which i didn't expect at all. Next to the hotel is the Marina, relatively small but very nice in the evenings, Afandina cafe if you like shisha, another bar, few shops, supermarket and pharmacy. The Spa is good as well however the steam rooms were out of service. I enjoyed the stay generally.

the steam rooms that were out of order, both in men's and women's area. at the beach area you press the button to call for the waiter however he didn't show up, probably ours was out of order or so, so we had to go to the bar.

Quality of food at buffets. Breakfast and diner. Variety of dishes to chose from. Freshness of salad. Staff always available to help. Very quiet. Música stops at 22h. Sandy Beach infront of hotel. Easy to swim. Posibilita to walk up to 3km on the water fronts.

Artificial paradise. As all similar hoteles in the área. I walked down to the cascada hotel, where spa is located. Many on going construction projects. Half constructed. Why do we need grass courts to play tennis or golf in module of the dessert? Kempiski should try to use less plastic. Plastic bottle for water in the room and beach. Toiletries in bathroom are all plastic and one use etc

Staff was very friendly, especially with our small children. The kids club was great as they had different activities throughout the day. There is a great playground at the beach and it's generally a very children friendly hotel. The breakfast and dinner buffets were great too and I would recommend to go for the half-board option. The pools were simple but the one for kids was heated which was perfect as otherwise it's a bit too cold in January to go swimming. Soma bay is a peninsula purely for tourism with a nice promenade to walk between hotels and some shops. There is also a reef close-by but we didn't have a chance to go there.

The à la carte food (e.g. for lunch) felt overpriced. I appreciate that might be part of the hotel's "business model" but expect prices that are going to be on par or higher than in most European countries. If you go in winter like we did, it's also worth understanding that Egyptian weather is typically sunny but there are strong winds. So you likely going to need a jumper or jacket in the mornings and late afternoon.

I spent 15 days .The hotel is excellent with great quiet location. The room is excellent, clean and bright and had all the equipment needed and even more that was not expected. Thank to Mina, Mohammad and Bacha for being all the time after us and available. Stayed on half board( breakfast and dinner) very large choice and excellent food. The staff in the restaurant was so nice and friendly and all the time after us, A big thank to Albert, Ahmad, Mr Wael and all his team for their nice and cheerful faces and smiles and being so professional and helpful checking every time if all is in order. The swimming pool is great and a special motion to the animation/recreation team ( specially Atta, Alaa and Mahmoud) who are doing a great job with different activities during the day in the beach You must try the SPA, diving and snorkeling, so many activities available that you can enjoy alone or in family or with friends. the sunset is just gorgeous

Snorkeling at the reef. However there could have been a better safety assessment of swimmers before setting off. Heated pool and spa - jacuzzi needed to be warmer. It was great having towels provided wherever we went. Recreation staff were very helpful. Good food - particularly the breakfasts. Excellent service. Across the site staff were friendly and anxious to please. The layout of the grounds was beautiful.

We had paid for a room with a side sea view. But the sea could barely be seen and was shielded by a palm tree. It was a disappointment, and inappropriiately described. We arrived late so I could not mention this till later the next day. I was offered a room change- but would have been moved to the other side of the hotel away from our daughter. We had a very happy holiday, but I think you should know we were unhappy with the description of the room.

1-very professional, polite and friendly staff at reception 2-very fast check in and out 3-sterilizing machines everywhere 4-the parking area has some shaded spots to save your car from the burning sun 5-the Air condition in the room was very powerful which is vital in such weather 6-the bathroom had both bath tub and a shower 7-the room had a movable big smart TV 8-daily, they provide 1 big water bottle per room + 1 small water bottle per person in the room + 1 small water bottle per person at the beach 9-very professional, polite and friendly staff at the beach, and whenever you want to sit either at the beach on by the pool, someone goes with you to clean and disinfect the chezlong and table for you before using them 10-in case you need anything from the beach staff, each beach umbrella has a button and all you need is just to press it and someone will come to assist you without needing to go to their hut 11-they prepare one of the best cheese cakes you could taste and a very delicious pasta 12-it is nice to see a menu for kids

1-no separate shattaf at the toilet 2-toilet flush water pressure was weak 3-the internet was down for about 5 hours one day 4-during breakfast and dinner you have to wear your mask whenever you go to bring anything from the open buffet, i agree that wearing masks is important, but to keep putting it on to go to get food then taking it off to sit and eat, i guess it is against the idea of not to touch or interact with the possibly infected area, however, i am not sure how to improve that or what could be a better way 5-the soluble coffee provided daily at the room was cheap and with a bad taste 6-the pillows were not very comfy 7-it is hard to open and close balcony door, it is really heavy

During check-in, Ms. Farah efficiently facilitated the process, and the overall check-out experience was equally smooth. The front desk staff displayed remarkable hospitality, accommodating our needs with utmost courtesy. The open buffet consistently delighted us with its delectable offerings. The food was consistently enjoyable, impeccably presented, and featured a diverse selection of fresh dishes that varied each day. Ibrahim and Yousri, who waited tables at the main restaurant, stood out with their charismatic and cheerful personalities. They were always eager to assist and exemplified the exceptional service displayed by the majority of the resort's staff. The beach and pool staff, including Hussein, Romani, Mohamed, Ahmed and their colleagues, were also incredibly attentive and helpful. Their presence ensured that we had a pleasant experience, readily assisting with any requests or inquiries. The dedicated housekeeping Mobarak, was consistently available and ensured that our rooms were impeccably clean. The attention to detail extended to the towels and beds, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout our stay. Furthermore, the resort provided strong and reliable Wi-Fi coverage, extending from the main areas to the beach, enabling us to stay connected at all times. One aspect that stood out was the dedication of the staff, who went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. Their commitment was evident as they wholeheartedly served guests, often offering assistance with both hands and a genuine smile. During our stay, we had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Mahmoud Matar, the knowledgeable, respectable, and proactive manager.

While the resort excelled in numerous areas, the entertainment options were not particularly strong. Typically, an evening's entertainment consisted of a two-hour performance by a singer, occasionally replaced by a DJ. Additionally, it was worth noting that the dinner package did not include beverages, even basic ones like water and soft drinks. These were considered additional charges. Finally, it is worth mentioning that the presence of a service tip box near the lobby entrance was not to our preference. We would have preferred the more traditional approach of personally giving appreciation tips.

2nd winter I'm back at the Kempinksi and it's looking like it'll become a recurring theme. The hotel itself is gorgeous, perfect for relaxing & decompressing. And with calm amenities to add a bit of variety; the natural looking pools, the surprisingly well equipped small gym, a lovely sauna, and plenty of beachfront activities. Sunset beach yoga is pretty fabulous! The restaurants make for really delicious food, stayed a full week and there was no repetition too :). The beachfront walkway takes avid walkers through multiple resorts, and to a marina with more restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops and such, perfect for a sunset or nighttime stroll. The staff are a whole other perk. Exceedingly lovely from reception to housekeeping to guest relations. Osman particularly from housekeeping made us towel art each day and the occasional check in if we needed anything else, if he'd missed us when the daily rounds were done. Try the jasmine stables when you're there, very calm horses, and guides that are polite, friendly and take loads of pictures for you ;) Couple tips for stays, 1. it's not always obvious what's included and what's an extra charge, check before you decide to use stuff, also booking.com reservation proces don't include tax! 2. You can order airport transport from the hotel to the airport & back for a extra charge depending on the size of your party/luggage and I'd highly recommend, seamless experience, calm drivers, and very pleasant overall.

Aside from everything being perfect, it’s worth mentioning that their breakfast and dinner buffets are among the best buffets I’ve ever seen! Every time the chef amazes us with the quality, attention to detail and extreme professionalism. The chef and his team have managed to provide excellent service along the years whether it was pre-COVID, during COVID or even on one of Egypt’s most popular holidays where the hotel was crowded the most. Regardless of the circumstances the service, quality, variety and professionalism have always been absolutely amazing!
