Hotel Kolovare

I loved pretty much everything about this hotel, breakfast and dinner was good quality and varied, location amazing with beach right in front, the swimming pool with salted water is amazing and staff was very polite and helpfull

The wi-fi was the inly downside of our stay, very weak connecting and disconnecting often and not covered all the outside pool area.

This hotel exceeded our expectations based on reviews we had read which made us skeptical. Yes there are some aspects of the hotel that could do with modernising but they are really insignificant when you're actually there. The room was spacious enough, we had a lovely view to the sea. The staff by the pool and in the canteen were very helpful. The pool area looks much better in person and is very cosy and lovely to relax in during the sun. Lots of sun loungers too to use free of charge. They do really nice cocktails for a great price. The hotel is in an excellent location with the huge Kolovare beach less than a minute away which is excellent because we could alternate between being in the sea and then relaxing on the loungers in the hotel fairly easily. The old town is a lovely 15 minute walk and the walk itself is very nice in the sunset. We did the walk every day! The central bus station is less than a 5 minute walk also, so we had no problem getting to/from the airport, taking buses to nearby towns and visiting Plitvice! Definitely exceeded our expectations and is a perfect place to relax for the price.

Breakfast was fine but we got a bit fed up of having the same items over the 7 days. Could have more variety with extra dishes or alternating dishes over the days. Wifi was a bit slow in the room - we couldn't stream films/videos consistently - but it is great by the pool.

During our 4-night-stay we appreciated the diversity of the buffet. The swimming-pool area is pleasant and very well organised. Kolovare beach nearby offers nice walks.

The restaurant room is very uncosy and reminds me of the old school dinner room. I think it could be made easily more attractive with "claustras/partition".

location is excellent (beach just behind the hotel, city center within a 15 minute walk), free private parking, fabulous breakfast (exceptional variety and all fresh), clean and comfortable rooms, balcony with sea view, swimming pool

hotel is renovated (it's not brand new), so you can still feel its legacy, but although it has undergone important updates and renovations I feel it is still a bit overpriced, so it really depends if you do mind that extra 30% you pay to have all its facilities within the paid price or not

Excellent location and we had a lovely room with a sea view and view of the pool. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Friendly staff. Excellent air conditioning. Lovely pool area and no problem getting a lounger (early Sept). Easy walk to bus station and Old Town. Right across a small road is Kolovare Beach. Perfect location, as away from noise and bustle of Old Town, but still in easy reach. Took about 15 mins to walk to start of Old Town.

A very, very minor thing - no mirror on the dressing table/desk.

Nice hotel all round , great position, on the beach , large hotel , very very clean , modern , beautifully decorated room , good size room , comfortable bed, large bathroom , nice pool area with bar . A large comfortable bar/lounge area near reception, many beaches , bars & restaurants near by , old city maybe 20 minute coastal walk. Nice dining area outside and in, breakfast good , dinner not so good . Would recommend & would stay there again on bed & breakfast only.

Free parking available which is a big plus in Zadar. Location is superb: close to Kolovare beach (1 minute walk) and good for nice strolls to the old city in the evenings (15 minute walk). Excellent pool area with nice sunloungers if the beach is too noisy or crowded. You can just go to the beach for longer swims and enjoy the sun and rest at the pool area. There are showers both at the beach and the pool area. The breakfast was very good.

The rooms are clean but a bit dated with worn paint and spots on the carpet. Most parking lot spaces are exposed to the sun, it can be tough to get a spot in the shade. The safe in the room is quite small: it can fit wallets and cell phones/tablets, but not laptops, and it comes with a real physical key (not a key code) that you need to carry around.

The location was near to bus station which was convenient for me. But seemed a bit farther to town than most of the reviews said. The salt water pool was nice on a hot day.

The renovation was well done. But you still have the screens that are architectural and really block the view. I had room 358 which gave you a good view if you look past the screen. The upside is the screens do block some of the heat. The air conditioning which did work but was a bit weak.

Lovely reception area and bar. Friendly and helpful staff . Super pool with sunbeds, umbrellas and also pool side bar/cafe. A second pool also for children.Beach immediately in front of hotel garden. Zadar old town approximately 20 minute walk from hotel . Reasonably priced taxis if preferred.Good choice at breakfast .

Room was a good size with comfy bed but decor was rather dull. No coffee / tea facility in room. At first sight the breakfast room / restaurant brought to mind a school dining hall but it grew on us and staff replenished everything as soon as necessary and were very vigilant about clearing used dishes Also very friendly and helpful

Had a fantastic time. The breakfast was lovely and plenty of selection. Rooms were cleaned everyday. Staff were very friendly. Drinks were reasonably priced for a hotel. Got buffet dinner included in the price we paid which it didn’t state on booking.com so that was a lovely surprise. We did eat out most nights but was great to have the option. One lady at reception booked us a day trip on a boat which was a full day from 8am-6pm. It cost €50 each with taxi from the hotel to the boat and snack and lunch included. She also booked us a taxi back to the airport for 250 kuna as we were quoted 500 kuna when we landed off the plane which is €66 for a 15mins journey when we refused we were abused by the taxi driver! Got a cheaper one for 350 kuna but still a rip off! When we come back I will definitely ring the hotel and ask them to book a taxi to collect us from the airport.

No strawberry daiquiris on the cocktail menu….wasn’t a major problem but my partner insisted I write this!
